But my husband already filed his tax as single? Is there any way to correct it? I just read that it could be a red flag if its not properly filed ?
Did he file in US? If so, he can file 1040X to amend it and then refile as either MFJ or MFS.

is it gonna be a problem? my husband filed his taxes as single but were married here in the philippines? what to do?
You must file as either MFJ or MFS if you were legally married in 2013. Good luck for a quick approval!

Thank you. On the petition, we gave our Mexican address because that's where I am currently living. Has anyone else on here given an address outside of the US when they made a service request? I guess I could give my parents' address in the US but we have been getting all of our mail from the USCIS here in Mexico already. I'm so confused.
Oh in that case, make sure you give your email address. They will send you response via email.

Ok, calling now...So if I am living outside of the US with my spouse, is it true I need to give them my US address in order to open a service request?
I think you should always give the address you gave when you filed the petition. Again I am not 100% certain but it sounds like you need to provide US address. May be others can chime in here and confirm? Good luck.

I actually tried doing it online and of course, there was an "error" with my receipt number (or an error with their web site). I am debating calling back today.
Like I said it worked for both of us. We were both approved in about a week of opening a SRs. You should not hesitate to call them until you get a success!
-
Still waiting to be approved!
You should call USCIS and open a SR. You are officially out of normal processing times per their timeline. If you call once and they are not willing to enter a SR for you, call again and ask again. It worked for both me and Blueberry. Good luck!

Did any NSC transfers who got approval not receive "On March 31, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly." message? I was approved on Monday March 31 but have't received this message yet.

I have no idea Shama. Sometimes it takes longer when the male beneficiary is in Pakistan. But in my case even that's not the case. My Husband is USC. Our first marriage for both. It's a total simple case. I have no idea why they r holding it up.
U r the beneficiary in Pakistan? Husband USC?
Why don't you open a SR? It worked for me. I was approved within two weeks of opening a SR.

Approved!!!
I am happier for your approval than mine!!! Many congrats!!!!! What a day....March was definitely our month!

can you tell me what's an SR? and how is it suppose to be done and for what?
If you are at NSC, then you should open a Service Request on your case by either calling them or uscis.org. Currently they are showing 5 month processing time for NSC that puts all of us out side of normal processing time period. This helped me I believe. I opened a Service request on March 20 and received response back from them on March 28. And Got approved yesterday.

I'm added to the spreadsheet, but I'm not very active on there. In Saylin's signature you can find the form to get added to the spreadsheet, the actual spreadsheet and her awesome wiki page about the NVC process.
Can you please send me a link?

YAY!!!!!!!! And I couldn't help but eye roll at USCIS' language "notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time" (I bolded the ridiculous part). Oye. BUT CONGRATS!!!!!
:D
Thank you so much, feel so relieved. The most unknown and unpredictable part is behind us. Can't be happier. NVC, here we come! Are you guys part of March 14 NVC thread?
-
YAY! CONGRATS!
March 30, though? Hmmm...
Yes apparently, I got two status changes email. One said on March 28 your alien registration number changed and the one that said on March 30 we approved this petition. So I believe they had already approved it on March 28 and shipped approved petition yesterday?! You are next!! TODAY!

We opened a SR on March 20 as per their guideline, our file was out of normal processing times. Received an email Re: SR on March 28 which said below.
"You or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.
Thank you for contacting us about this case. According to our systems, action is pending on this application/petition and you should receive notice within thirty (30) days.
We hope this information is helpful to you."I strongly encourage you to open a SR if you are NSC, It worked for us!

WE HAVE BEEN APPROVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.................
On March 30, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

My husband put In an expedite request instead of SR. So now I guess we would have to wait 30 days before we can do anything else. I m praying I dont have to wait that long and they approve the case even if they don't thnk expedite reason is strong. Since we really are outside processing times and expedite or no expedite we should be approved now!
What was the reasoning behind your expedite if you don't mind me asking you?

I don't like this competition LOL I want to see some approvals!!!
Last night a couple August peeps finally got their approval, I hope today is the day for all of you!
Don't like this competition either!!!!
. I want all of us to be approved sooner than later.
Couple of people were transferred for the second time. Mainly from TSC and NSC. More uncertainly and confusion to already overwhelming process!
-
Next week will be 10 months of us since waiting :'( can't believe it!! :'(
Why don't you open a SR? Or have you?
-
I'm the current record holder on our spreadsheet for longest NOA1-NOA2 at 197 days.
I hope to lose that distinction today. Come on NSC!
You for sure will loose. Blueberry & I are in competition to break it!!

On March 26, 2014, we transferred this case to your USCIS local field office for additional processing. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.
During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators.
If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.
Any body can tell me what is that please my friends help
I just got this email
Please blueberry and bdrew612
I am bit surprised to see a transfer this late. What is your priority date? I believe one more person in August was transferred yesterday for the second time. Were you ever transferred before?

Really sorry to hear what you are going through. I can't even imagine being in your situation. Did NVC atleast tell you why they sent the file back to USCIS?
