  1. Hey everyone, been stalking on visa journey for a while but this is my first official post.

I am "lucky" enough to be a June filer at CSC and like everyone else waiting is my main occupation right now, so i have decided to get as much stuff ready before that NOA2 arrives so there is a little wait as possible due to gathering documents etc....

basically i was just wondering what time should i go to have my medical examination? can i go do that now before we have even received the NOA2 or is this something that must be done closer to the interview date?

    thanks heaps!

    Brad.

    What country?

  2. There was a post about medical needs due to care from a surgery that was approved to expidite. It was for a shoulder surgery I believe. I have an issue with my x wife/ custody of my children. I'm pretty sure that I will be awarded full custody of them due to her history. The problem is that I work 12 hour night shifts on a rotating schedule. I will have to find someone to watch them a few times a week while I work. My children are young. Who better to care for them than the woman who be in their lives anyways. I'm not sure if it will work or not but the judge can write me a letter, I'll have the new custody orders and copies of her criminal(drug, neglect) records as evidence.

Unfortunately, I'm not making this up.

    Anyones opinion here?

The problem is that I work 12 hour night shifts on a rotating schedule

Been there, done that. GOOD way to grow old FAST.

How's the first graveyard when you go back?

  3. There are no set rules on USEM allowing or disallowing the use of co sponsors for K1's. It's all up to the CO and the luck of the draw. It does seem they allow immediate family members more often to co sponsor than those that try to use someone outside the immediate family.

    Does happen tho.

Sucks USEM doesn't have a set policy! I've seen K1 beneficiaries who are nurses or have a occupation with good earning potential get approved when the petitioner didn't qualify finacially and without a cosponsor!

CO's have more power than GOD for 5 or 10 minutes.!

  4. hello everyone.... my interview is on oct 6, but im worried about securing my CENOMAR cert of no marriage... some applicants said that i need to have CENOMAR on my interview other says no need... securing CENOMAR takes a week to be processes my interview is less than a week now... im worried about it... my category is IR_1... my petitoner is my husband i got all the requirements for interview except CENOMAR... pls advise me on this... thanks!!!!

Good to have a CENOMAR/ CENMAR for spouse interviews but it's not asked for that often for married beneficiaries. DOES happen tho. Best to see if you can get one. Pay extra and you can get it the same day at the QC office.

  5. I did some research about your situation here's what Ive found:

    VAWA subsidizes Green Card scams

    By Carey Roberts

The Violence Against Women Act underwrites Green Card lottery schemes, lures foreign women into prostitution, and tars innocent American men as abusers — all at taxpayer expense. Here's how it works.

Green Card Girls — women who inveigle unsuspecting single men to bring them to the United States — are a well-known fixture in the international dating scene. An internet search on the term turns up chat room discussions, how-to books, X-rated videos, and more.

Once she latches on to her Prince Charming, the Green Card Girl can look forward to life in the Land of Milk and Honey. Even if the relationship goes sour, no problem, she can dump the guy and accuse him of domestic violence.

Then she dashes to the local abuse shelter. Thanks to the Violence Against Women Act, she now qualifies for emergency housing and can bypass the usual two-year waiting period to land her coveted Green Card. And she's entitled to free legal help.

All this is common knowledge. Do a Google search on "green card" and VAWA and you'll turn up nearly 10,000 hits.

Immigration authorities are aware of the scam. One official explains the shake-down this way: "Beautiful young women...entice a poor, unsuspecting 40-50-year old into marrying them, and then methodically proceed to ruin his life: calling 911 to report a wife-beating...going to a domestic abuse shelter."

One such man is Michael Wnuk, an engineering professor at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Diagnosed with cancer, he met one vivacious Lidia Kolisnichenko of Poland who promised she could help — but first he would have to marry her.

Days after the wedding, her mood darkened. Her husband had never hit or harmed her, but that was beside the point.

Lidia then staged a confrontation scene, ripping a phone from his hand, hysterically running from the house, and frantically imploring the neighbors for help. Now she had "witnesses" to her charge. Then she took a B-line to the local shelter, which welcomed her with open arms.

Over the ensuring months Michael Wnuk spent thousands to clear his good name. "I am financially ruined and emotionally devastated," the engineering professor laments.

Lidia Kolisnichenko is just one of thousands of Green Card Girls who each year flee to abuse shelters to become "certified" victims of violence. According to a recent survey by Eleanor Lyon and Shannon Lane at the University of Connecticut, 15% of residents at abuse shelters are there to get help for their immigration problems.

That means a lawyer who is willing to tell the woman that merely raising your voice is the same as full-fledged physical violence. According to the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago, "possessiveness" or needing to "walk on eggshells" are all signs of extreme cruelty. The attorney then coaches her how to complete the application for a restraining order.

I'm sure a few of these cases are legitimate and the ladies need our help. But many of these shelters are flim-flam operations. When the director at the Community Fellowship for Battered Women in northern California admits that persons are admitted simply because "they tell a good story," you know something fishy is going on.

So how do our billion-dollar-a-year federal domestic violence programs come into the picture?

First, they funnel money to immigrant aide organizations like ASISTA that openly advertise a Green Card can be had merely for the asking.

Second, they order the Citizenship and Immigration Service to give special deference to any woman who claims abuse — no proof needed. These petitions are rubber-stamped at an office in Vermont where the CIS adjudicator has little chance of verifying the petitioner's story.

Third, they channel millions to abuse shelters around the country who help perjurers file false accusations of abuse so they can ruin men's lives and qualify for government aid.

This is done in the name of protecting women and eradicating domestic violence.

    What country is she from?

  7. The woman put me in the computer as an "nurse visit" which was the cheapest charge in their system they use. On the phone I was told it would be 300$. So I was pretty releaved.

How about giving the contact info for thr CS you went to?

  8. Hai all, My Initial AOS interview is upcoming on October 5th! I been in US a little over an year and we been married now only 4 months, and I never worked in USA as I dont have work permit and was a student, my parents send money for my living expenses before marriage and after marriage my wife was taking care of me and I received EAD only a month back. We don't have any joint tax returns, credit cards or any thing much to show.

So the following document list would be enough to show our legitimacy of our marriage.

    - our past Apartment lease under both of our names (we were evicted just 2 days back because of our inability to pay past 3 month rent, lol)

    - Now we are temporarily staying in her brothers apartment, so a letter from her brother that he accommodates us for 2 months on emergency and his apt lease)

    - Comcast bills for past 3 months under both of our names

    - electricity bills for past 3 months under both of our names

    - marriage pics only 2 people attended the wedding, her brother and my friend, we are poor to make any celebration)

    - pics of us with her mom and brother

    - and other pics of us, just when we went out locally.

and actually her mom is joint sponsoring me, for my green card!

does it all sounds good or need more evidence, pls guide and advice me, would i be in need of any other things,

    Thank you in advance!

Main thing is to have all of "moms" finacial evidence since she is your co sponsor.

  9. Hey guys!

So the wedding went great (will post pics soon) and we are currently working on the AOS stage. Both my fiance and I have been sick for the past couple days so I am now on it. My main issue it having my medical docs certified by a civil surgeon (I-693). When I called the local civil surgeon everything she told me was different than what VJ and USCIS website says. She says they cannot go over tests/records taken by Dr. Seidens (or however you spell it) but I need to bring them in anyways. The Dr in MTL gave me a CD to give to the civil surgeon when I come to this stage but now I am told they do not accept CD roms and I need to print out everything that is on the cd. She was also mentioning some immunizations I have never heard of. IE she told me the seasonal flu vaccine was one of them. I told her this is not a mandatory vaccine and I do not believe in taking it because I have been in clear health for over 8 years. Prior to that when I took the vaccine I always ran into numerous health issues and have never had problems since I stopped taking it. She then said we can get around it. She also said I need the 'pneumonia' vaccine, which I have never heard being mandatory and do not feel I need to get. I have had over 30 vaccines for various things because of my work but these are the only two she mentioned to me that I don't have, and they seem incorrect. She also stated I needed a TB test (had that done last month so am fine) and have the chest xray. Blood test to check for syphilis which I believe was done in MTL but she said I need to get it done again... I don't know but is it just me or is this chick misinformed? I thought if we had the medical done we do not need to have everything done again, just show proof it was done.

Can anyone offer any insight? They also don't have any appointments available for almost 2 months which is way too long so I need to travel a few hours and try elsewhere.

Go find anothet DCS that has their act together.

    This link may help.

  10. Dakine - to the best of my knowledge (and I might be wrong)

there is no '10 year stamp'

There IS an IR-1 stamp, though.

The I-551 stamp is only good for a year, regardless of CR-1 or IR-1 designation, though.

Main thing is the OP informs the IOs they are IR-1 so they'll get the 10 year GC in the mail. I've seen MANY screw ups where IR's were sent the 2 year card because they didn't "make a few waves" and inform IO's at the POE of their status.

  11. i have a spring on my property...it floods out some of my field and is a pain..but a good source of water when all hell breaks loose......

Are there any septic systems with a 1000 feet of your spring? Is so your water may be contaminated!

  12. Is this the same thing they send you if you just called and ask for a copy of your filings?

Call IRS at 800 829 1040 and ask for teh last 3 years of tax transcripts. The take the place of returns and W2's. More valid and less paperwork to deal with than returns.

You can have them faxed to you also right when you are talking with them. ALL for free.

Mailing takes about a week after you call them.

  13. Hi, something is really bothering me and I would appreciate some advice from all you knowledgeable VJ'ers!

My I-130 hasnt been approved yet but I was looking at form DS230 online and have been worrying about the question that asks if you suffer or have suffered from any condition that makes you a danger to yourself or others. I have suffered from mild depression for years and take a low dose of medication, but 5 years ago I had some awful things going on in my life and very foolishly self harmed and was in a psychiatric hospital for 5 days. It was the first and only time that has ever happened. Now I dont know whether to say yes or no to that question on the form. When I have travelled to the US I have answered 'no' to it on the I-94 because as I say it was a long time ago and is never going to happen again.

My dilemma is, if I answer 'no', they will prob ask about my anti-depressant use because I'm sure you have to list any medication you take further down the line (at the medical).

If I answer 'no', I guess technically I am lying and they will ask why I never put it on the I-94. I dont want to lie obviously but I dont want to make more of it than it was and I dont want my visa denied!

If I answer 'yes', thats one of the grounds to be denied a visa and they will still ask why I didnt put it on the I-94 .

Has anyone had any experience with this or can offer any advice?

    Thanks in advance.

    Be consistant with your answers.

  14. Do I need to photocopy all the pictures? Or just I need to submit the original pictures? They will get all the pictures? or they will return it to you?

If they will return all the photos, what will be serve as thier copies?

    Make copies on bond paper.

I made 10 pages with 4 pics on each page with captions. This was for the interview. You only need a couple pics for the initial petition. Very few people have problems getting initial petition approval. The BIGGY is the embassy interview.

  15. If you've only made 1 trip try o make another or attend the USEM interview. Multiple trips aren't required but they are still a BIG plus in showing you guys have a bonafide relationship at the Interview.

You only need to prove you met in person in the last 2 years for the initial petition. Letters, chats, pictures with you, her and her family will come into play at the interview when she has to prove you guys have a "bonafide relationship"

I/ my fiancee was denied the first time for lack of pictures with me, her and her family. Second time I/she had MULTPLE pictures and I made multiple trips also.
