  1. I've read a lot about different people contacting their Congressman/Congresswoman. However, I'm not exactly sure what level I'm supposed to contact. Do I contact the ones at the state level (since we all have representatives who serve in our state legislature) or do I go up to the national level? Do I do both?

Who has had success doing this? At what level? Any representative from Massachusetts that has been helpful?

    Thank you kindly

    David and Irina

My senator's immigration specialist helped us and a friend of mine several times when our petitions stalled.

    Inouye in Hawaii tho.

  2. ok im still waiting for my noa2 now my wife is pregnant and looks like the baby will be born in egypt so how do i add the baby to the I-130 application ? and do i need to submit another I-130 for the baby after birth and wait another 8-10 month for the baby application to go through or what ? i just wanna know so if i need to start anything i can start it now while im waiting for the noa2 for my wife ? thx for the help

Submit a CRBA to her embassy [Consular Report of Birth Abroad] and have the child get it's US Citizenship and a US passport. No need for the child to be added to the I-130.

  3. Well I'm on here just like many others who are curious about their wife's visa process.

What kind of suggestion you guys can give me.

My wife and I spoke over the phone (skype and aloviet.com) since 1/2010.

We met through my uncle and spoke over the phone.

After 9+ months of talking I decide this is the gal I want to live with so I left to vietnam in October and got maried mid november 2010.

I went back to Vietnam with my father and son 3 from last marriage (wife I met in US, divorced 2 years)

    Here's my timeline so far

    Little background:

I came to the united states in 1987 on the last boat to USA

I got my citizenship through my father in 1998.

I attend kindergard all the way up to 4 yrs of college (43 more credits to graudate - drop out for now)

Married and divorced in 2007-2008 (bad relationship after birth of my son, she couldn't handle the motherhood)

1/2010 - Introduced through my uncle and we spoke on skype and aloviet.com

10/25/2010 - head back to vietnam with father/son (3 yrs)

11/10/2010 - decide to married the gal since my dad could only be in vietnam for 3 weeks.

    12/5/2010 - recived Marriage Certificate

1/26/2011 - got my prefilled package from Seattle office that I hired to fill out all my paperworks for $1,000 which include my disvorce discree transilation.

    1/27/2011 - NOA1 recieved

    2/15/2011 - ###### wife 3 months pregant (only been there 4 months)

3/08/2011 - booked a flight back to USA to do my 2011 taxes

    3/14/2011 - Income of $24,299 on line 22 of 1040EZ

    Here's my question:

Would $24,290 income be enough to sponsor my wife. I submitted my CR-1 for my wife and if its counts of household then its My Son, Me and my wie would is $23,162 is the proverty line for 3 people. My unborn child would that be considered. If it is then I'm in trouble.

What kind of proof should I keep and put together for my wife?

What should I be worried of that you guys are?

Can't think of anyting else right now. If you guys have any suggestion pleaes do past it along so it could ease my worries. Just read so may nasty stories and its freaking me out.

Thank you for your time guys

    Cardin

Hopefully you have records of such and all recent calls.

  4. Thanks for the quick reply.

And thanks for the scottimmigration link. I'll try to make it to one of her chat sessions.

I know my wife only "experimented" with marijuana while in college, unfortunately, she was arrested for possesion. What do you think will happen when we check the "Yes" box on the DS-230 form. Will we even get a chance for the medical exam and interview? Or do you think they'll see that and automatically deny her?

I'll try to ask Laurel Scott this question, but do you think the "Yes" is grounds for an automatic denial?

    Thanks again,

    Mark

Also did she already get NBI clearance? If not have her apply for such and see what "comes up". She "may" have another problem to overcome.

In the past she would have been denied a visa however I've seen where things have changed and the problem can be overcome if done correctly. How that is I don't know. Call your senator/congressman. If they have a immigration specialist as my senator does they should be able to guide you. Good lawyer also. It's NOT going to be a cake walk.

  6. This is Rhea in the RheaNick. I met my USC hubby thru work. Hubby spoiled me alot. He is very responsible and romantic.

On my initial post, I'm talking about my filipina friend who met her american husband online. They only met for one day and the next thing i know they are processing their K1. She had no problem at all even though she only showed one photo during her interview. Initially, I'm worried about her, meeting someone online and deciding to marry him. Now, I'm happy that they found each other.

Case by case basis as my first K1 petition was denied and the reason was she only had a couple photos of us and the CO wanted to see pics of us and her family.

  7. It will not mess up the K1 process, no. But you will have to disclose your pending app when applying for the tourist visa.

I'm also not sure how often tourist visas are granted for PI residents. I'll defer to the PI members on that one. I remember hearing they weren't easy to get but I could be wrong.

You are correct. Any filipinos applying for tourist visas must show GOOD reasons why the HAVE to return to PI and not go TNT {go illegal in the US.]

Just backing up everyone else. Lawyers can't expedite the process unless the petitioner is active in military and being assigned overseas or has other good reasons. Also for other humanatarian reasons. Senators can help more for the above reasons. They can also keep the petition moving if stalled for various reasons which happened to us and my/our senators immigration specialist got it moving again with one phone call.

  8. They should be able to use what they call a "transformer" converts 110 to 220. I took my 110 laptop with me and one of the hotels I stayed in Makati (A Venue Suites), provided one during my stay since they only had 220 outlets. I left this very laptop with my husband (he lives in Mindanao) and uses a transformer as well.

Check out this site for more info: http://www.planetomni.com/Prod_VOLT.shtml

Read the fine print on your power cord box as I've yet to see a laptop that doesn't work on both 120 and 440!

  9. Hi everyone! How are you all doing?? Well, I hope!!

I have a question about the I-384 form. Currently, I am a full-time student, and a single mother. My son and I receive medicaid, and foodstamps at the moment. Does anyone know if the petition will be denied because of this? I lost my job of 8 years in October of 2009 and I decided to go to school in the meantime. I read all of the information, but I was wondering if anyone was in the same situation and has some good news for me. LOL! Thanks for your time!!

Are you doing a fiancee petition for a man in Morocco?

  10. hi my fiance got the K-1 visa and now in the US.

I am trying to apply for I-485.

My question is do I need medical record ( vaccination supplement)?

    Any advice? thank you.

Google USCIS Designated Civil Surgeons. Call some and get prices. LOTS will try and make you/her do a full medical and rip you guys off. Your fiance only needs the vaccinations transfered from the DS 3025 to the I-693.

    Keep original DS3025.

  11. Hello one nation,

The only thing that will make you going is hope. Never lose hope. Pray a lot and let god handle everything. That's what my wife and I were and are doing. Every morning you wake up, ask god to show you the way to follow and he will guide you. Also, if US is the right place for you no one can deport you. Humain can not deport you. You will be in the right place brother. In the begining, my wife and I were very worried, impatient. Now, We are very relaxed, and We always thank god for the good think he gave us. Neither your BOSS or INS have the power to harm you and your family or deport you . God is our creator, he loves us and have the right place for us.

Keep up hope my brother and take it easy. Your health, family is more important than every thing else.

Keep us updated and We will do so. We will pray for you.

    CALL your senator and congressman.

  12. hello everybody,

USCIS received my papers on December 1st, and i ve been waiting to receive my letter for biometrics. today i checked my status online and i saw that on Dec 20 th they sent me a letter for request for additional evidence. i havent received the letter yet, probably tomorrow. But i m freaking out because i thought i sent enough evidence. I sent the form N400, all the tax returns for the past 3 years, birth certificate, marriage certificate, joint checking account, joint auto insurance, bills, 2 photos, and now they want more evidence...i sent everything i had... i have no idea what else i can add to this...and i m so scared :(

Has anybody been in a similar situation, getting RE before even getting biometrics, if yes i would like to hear your stories...

    thank you

They've been screwing up and sending the wrong letter to LOTS of peeps. It's the biometric appointment letter.

  13. What strikes me as odd other than what is reported in this is.......where are her adoptive parents why didn't they naturalize her why are they not made accountable for the difficulties she is having with all of this she has mental problems that alone makes her particularly unaccountable for what she has done..her parents must have known that she has a mental problem she didn't just wake up one day and there it was with out some kind of clues her parents should have explored...but her adoptive family not getting her citizenship is really a serious issue. there is seriously something wrong with patents that bring kids here from another country thru adoption and do not naturalize them

    just my opinion

    sara

I don't think there's anyway the parents could have "naturalized" her. Depending on the circumstances! She should have been a USC automatically.

  14. WOW... :wow: I was reading it and right down to the writing style...it sounded like something my ex would do. Yep, she did have an aunt "convienently" close. No, there wasn't abuse and no there weren't any police called unless her cousin that came to pick her up was an undercover cop. He looked more a overweight druggy to me than a cop. And we did get married within 12 hours of her being here because her mom didn't want her "living in sin" ...but I guess living with another guy while married another is OK. Ohhh I digress... And yep, she was on Filipinaheart.com one week after she left me trolling for another sucker. This post could be her trolling VJ for some help in finding some way to stay here. I know, her and her aunt's attempt to do AOS without me failed and they lost $1,010 and her 90 days to respond with my sponsoship was up 2 weeks ago. She's very good at telling stories and gaining sympathy. And yes, the boyfriend did ask me to divorce her so he could marry her and he thought she could stay here after they were married. Interesting.......

Do you know how she stands with ICE at this time?
