The Midland man, Steve Kindy, 41, and a Filipino woman, were killed in an ambush in the southern Philippine province of Lanao del Norte on Monday, Sept. 20, police said.

Senior police supt. Agrimero Cruz said two assailants opened fire on a passenger minibus in southern Iligan city's Mahayahay village on Monday.

Cruz said Kindy and a Filipino woman were killed and another Filipino woman was wounded. Police said the wounded woman was Kindy's girlfriend.

Iligan police officer Alibsar Daraba said Kindy was shot six times.

Police said the American's possible womanizing could have led to a motive. They were also considering a Quran-burning angle.

"We are looking at two angles. The first is if there is a connection to a statement regarding the burning of a Koran. Secondly, we are looking at a probable love triangle," said Senior Supt. Bernardo Reamon.

The incident was followed by another attack on a foreigner, a British ship captain who was shot on Tuesday while driving in Angeles City, north of Manila.

TV5 spoke with Kindy's family in Midland and they said this was his second trip to the Phillipenes this year.

Kindy first went in January and when he saw the conditions much of the children were living in, he wanted to return and find a way to help.

Family members said he returned in late August to continue his work helping orphans

I know everyone says that we should file the I-485 as soon as possible but is this required? What if someone wanted to wait 6 months or even a year? I know of a specific case here in AZ that the marriage held together a while and they had filed quickly for the i485 and as soon as she got the temp green card she requested to have conditions removed and was approved. Then she bolted. Dont say the stuff that you should know ur spouse, blah blah. It is much easier to say than to do.After they get the uncondtional green card most, not all, but most will change. Ive known too many of them and foreign women seem to be very patient.

Some people have waited 2 years and end up getting their 10 years GC when they do the AOS. However some have been detained by ICE when caught being out of status. One I know of had to hire a immigration lawyer at 4 K to assist in her removal proceedings.

If you live or visit near borders you.she could get caught.

Best to do the AOS ASAP.

if i am correct, the removal of condition or i-751 applies when you are 2 years through your marriage. the i-751 is submitted a few months before the 2 year expiration of the green card. as you mentioned you only arrived in u.s. on jun. 2010, so the 2 years will be up by 2012. my advise is for you to consult a good immigration lawyer. maybe this website has a list for you to look at. good luck.

Good thing is Hawaiian Air flights are Most ALWAYS on time. 2 hours and 26 min is cutting it close. You'll have to RUN or take the Wiki Wiki bus if you have lots of luggage to the Hawaiian Interisland terminal. Better if your mate meets you in Honolulu and helps you change planes.

Is that enough? I tried to talk to my agent and she told me that the itinerary was given by hawaiian airlines and there's nothing she can do about it...

8 months +. Using Ling Che's short cuts will speed things up if done properly.

Use your head and have your name put everything you can during the process. Joint filing taxes is a plus even if you're not working.

my wife in lima had her medical, when she returned to get her results , they told her because of her cronic arthritis they had to mail the results to the embassy..has this happened to anyone else..we are very concerned

My wife , daughter and SIL stayed there for the medical and Bayview for the interview,

They like the Lotus Garden better than Bayview but Bayview worked out fine as you can throw a rock from Bayview and hit the embassy.

i was just wondering if there's a place somewhere outside of the embassy where you can keep your cellphone, electronics, etc. like a prepaid locker? so my fiancee can get a hold of me as soon as she steps out of the embassy. if not, is there a payphone over there? Thanks!

LOTS of vendors offering to keep your CP for people outside the embassy. Only problem they may steal them. Best to leave with a friend or at the hotel.

I wish i had found this site before sending off my I-130, now i feel like i didnt even try, I sent it on the 7th of sept, they rcvd it on the 9th and i got a confirmation text message with a recipet number which i then was able to view at the USCIS website...no hardcopy of NOA1 yet...so thats where i currently am, now my questions!! And i didnt have much else to include, had chatlogs that i was going to include but laptop crashed and everything was lost. Now what i noticed other users were also including was a summary of how they met, statements from relatives or friends, etc. Now i feel my application was very bare!

Also as of right now i am currently unemployed, i wanted to spend time with my husband and plan our wedding and have a honeymoon so i did have to give up my job, will that affect this process? For the future, after my application is approved i did read through alot of other posts with all information needed, but with their being beneficiaries and petitioners out there both posting it got me alittle confused as to what he needs for himself, do i need to send my husband some required documents? he does have a I130 copy, wedding certificate, my birth certificate, and thats about it, does he need my tax documents to take or send for his interview? He is going to the US embassy in Sarajevo Bosnia will it be a problem that he doesnt speak english?

Get 3 years of tax transcripts for your sponsor from IRS. 800 829 1040. That's all you need. Your hubby will need copies at his interview. Also he'll need evidence of a bonafide relationship..

Well, let's be clear this in NOT gonna happen to me! They can check my DNA if they want (which is the ONLY way to be sure) but I do not find this kind of behavior funny AT ALL this is shocking. In addition on a strict medical point of view "a peek" have never proved a patient to be truly a female (I guess that due to my medical occupation I can say that I know what I am talking about). Do they ask that to American Women before they marry? I doubt, otherwise they would be suffocating under a pile of lawyers summons. Do they do that to manly guys they receive? neither. So what is not acceptable for their women is not acceptable for me neither.

Are you resort-type people or off-beaten path type people? Oahu will have all your amenities and clubs and golf, but will be crowded and touristy. Maui or Kauai will be more rural and picturesque and you can more readily choose your own adventure, like driving up the Na Pali coast. I would say to start by identifying the island that closest fits your own vibe, and research from there. You can also base yourself in a more populated place and take cheap overnight trips to other islands.
