We lived in Bangalore at the time of DH CR1 interview and yes we spent a week in Mumbai "for no reason" (we ended up visiting friends and family and doing sightseeing). We landed in Mumbai and went straight from the airport to the clinic for the medical exam. It cost us Rs5000 with all the vaccines (they made him take all new vaccines and wouldn't accept his childhood vaccines). This exam and vaccines took a few hours. Then we went to the hotel and had dinner. The next day they called us and told us to collect the documents at 4pm so we went for the biometrics appointment in the morning (it literally took 12 min) and then had lunch and then drove back to the clinic to collect the documents. Then we just wasted time in Mumbai until the day of the interview.

you can do medical anywhere that there is an approved clinic - check the sheet that they have. We were living in Bangalore and did our medical and biometrics in Mumbai the week before our interview. We stayed in Mumbai for 8 days to do the entire interview process.

I just called USCIS and they said we are outside normal processing times (our date is May 4) and that they would normally transfer me to a Tier 2 but that they have closed Tier 2 for the day due to heavy call volume and to call back later or early tomorrow. They also submitted an inquiry but told me that it takes 3-5 days for Tier 2 to address an inquiry.

YAY congrats! how did you find out? were you at CSC?

My hubby is the first in his family to learn to drive a car, everyone has always had motorcycles or scooters. He signed up and took driving lessons in India. You don't even need your own car as they provide everything. When he came to the US he drove a few times (he visited on B1/B2) and said honestly its much easier in US than India since we are so orderly. The hard thing for him was the fact that India and US drive on different sides of the road AND the fact that since he doesn't own a car he hadn't had much practice since his lessons but he did ok. I think for him learning to drive a car was not too difficult since it was more about how to operate the car rather than the rules of the road. He already has road sense from all his motorcycle riding that he has done!
Is it possible that they can take some kind of driving course even before coming? They are usually very gentle and good (if you go with a reputable school) and maybe it will ease the transition?

we got approved today at our interview!!! We are so happy, this was a long journey and we are thankful that these wonderful resources were here to guide us!
below is our story from this morning at the interview! hope it makes sense!
our interview was scheduled for 930am but we got there early
1 - walked in at 830am
2 - token at 844am asked for DS260 and interview letter and passport
3 - first indian guy already had our file, asked for the interview letter and looked at passport and asked about our trip to Thailand, asked where is your wife, when did she come to india and when is she flying back. when were you in the US last. were you married before, was your wife married before.
4 - wait from 930am to 1045am.
5 - american guy called his token number and asked him to take oath and give fingerprints again, who is calling you, where did you meet, where does she work, where did you get married, how many people attended the wedding, were your parents there and were her parents there, did your family approve the marraige, did your parents try to get you fixed to any other indian girl before marrying your wife, where does your wife live in US and where was she born, show me your wedding pics, congrats approved you will get it in a week, thank you

Thanks so much! we are just waiting around in Mumbai enjoying meeting with friends! Praying everything goes smoothly this week!

We also were married in Pune (just last May), we lived there for 2 years before shifting to Bangalore! Lonavala is a wonderful, been there many times with friends.
Yes its funny actually, just was speaking to Hubby on the phone during his lunch break and he was saying the same thing, I think we are going to change the biometrics to 13th morning and then head out to Pune after.

Yes I agree, praying everything goes smooth and nice! Its too much waiting, if there was no waiting I would think you could get thru NVC in a month or less....but waiting for case number, then waiting for invoices, (hopefully no waiting for checklists) then waiting for case complete, then waiting for interview!

Just wanted to keep people in the loop (and to have hope), since I got my NVC case number and IIN things have moved really quickly! There is hope and light at the end of the tunnel!

I think the reason I find the NVC group confusing is that there are so many different procedures by country and all the links need to be updated with the new info/forms so that is confusing as well!

omg yay for august approvals!!!

yes i called nvc today and they said my file was received on the 21st but to allow 20-30business days to register my case in the computer system and generate a case number

now quick quest. I got my NOA2 and I am going to be moving in April. Do i need to update my address with USCIS or how do I change it once it gets to the NVC? Its the same apt complex (so same street, city, state, zip just different number). Or does it matter at all that I am moving?

when i called they told me so much WRONG info....first they told me i was transferred to lee summit then they said i was transferred to local cleveland office then they said they couldn't tell me since the transfer info wasn't in the computer system......
finally the paper copy confirmed i was sent to CSC....just ignore their misinformation!

So So happy to see almost all of August is getting transferred/approved! I pray August gets done by the end of Feb! 8 more days USCIS, come on you can do it and get all of August moving!!!!
