Hi everyone I need some help. I am a permanent resident in California. I came here 1 year ago. My visa category  is 1r1 which is conditional residence. I have a good relationship with my wife but my wife family doesn’t want me and my wife to live separate, and the reason is my wife earns a lot. She works for federal government and her parents want her money even they take all her money and they don’t give it to her . I earn average. They are just making excuses with my job that you don’t earn a lot and we can’t let you live separate. Even we both earn enough where we can easily live separate. My wife doesn’t want to go with me  because of their parents they provoke her against me . Her parents specially his dad is so annoying he just want me to follow his rules which I don’t want. As a paksitani Muslim background no one treats her son in law the way they treat me.. in this condition I want to leave my wife and go back to my country . I just want to know is there any other way where I can still live in America with my green card.? Coz I have to remove my condition too for 10 years permanent green card

Can you send me a private message to my inbox ? I will explain later

My husband is in Dubai and just recently moved flats. Will they send medical packets or interview packets anything of that nature by mail or is everything electronic and he will be emailed it once his interview is scheduled? If by mail, does he need to change his address in NVC??

Everything is emailed unless he didnt add his email in paper work

In your situation, your family  would almost certainly benefit from filing jointly.........you should compare the calculation for the taxes for BOTH spouses filing separately versus filing a joint return.......then make your decision.......or consult a competent tax preparer.

That is incorrect........Any married couple can file as "Married filing separately" if they want.

No sir it depends on how they did their w4 ,like allowances if they did married but holding with single rates then they should be able to file married  filing separately  n get some money back but they did just martied then filing jointly is gonna get them money back

  4. Look man , if truly love your wife  then its not a good idea to seek guidance to cancel her  visa and if even  you do get a hold of embassy or cbp they are still not gonna get back to you on time especially embassy it takes them a while to respond or take any actions. 2nd if you inform cbp all they gonna do ask you questions about your arguments if there is no life threatening argues then they will wait till shes actually at the airport in usa and then they ll get her side of story  ... so my advice is if the fight is constant and you have enough evidences  of red flags you can mail them in to cbp otherwise prepare for marriage counseling asa she gets here . I went through similar situation. Every marriage has fights and arguments  but there is also a solution for everything ,  i hope you understand my point . Good luck

    Hello!!

I’m freaking out a little and would just like to hear someone else’s thoughts on my situation.

My city and home were damaged in hurricane Florence last September and I am in the projected path of hurricane Dorian now.

My concern is that because of these two storms, my savings account has basically been depleted.

I am a school teacher and make $41k, so I know that this is way above the minimum requirement but I am concerned that they will see that I have little money in my actual bank account.

    Will this be an issue?

P.S. My estimated decision date is November 17 🙂

Nope not at all , as long as you show em you current paystubs ,they dont care ...

If you requested a name change on your N400 application or during your interview---then the certificate will be printed with your new name and it is a legal name change in front of a judge.

If you NEVER requested a name change and you have NOT had the interview yet, you can submit your request in writing to the field office that is handling your case OR request it with the IO on the day of your interview.

If you are PAST the interview stage AND have already been given an oath date----you will need to either A) attend your oath ceremony and legally change your name in civil court afterwards, or, B) request the name change in writing with the field office handling your case and wait to be scheduled into another oath ceremony presided by a judge after any further checking/processing of that request is completed.

Unfortunately you cannot request the name change the day of, and expect them to change it during the oath ceremony itself, issuing you a new certificate on the spot.  This is mainly because 1) applicants changing their name must attend a judicial ceremony as opposed to a clerical ceremony, 2) the certificate is pre-prepared with the name/requested name change of the applicant at the time the interview was completed, and 3) USCIS runs checks on the requested new name during the adjudication process.

Thanks buddy ,i appreciate that 😊

    Hello,

I am 2019 Dv winner and i attended an interview with my wife on 07 Nov 2018 in Ethiopia. At the end of the interview CO gave me a white slip which requires me to submit an additional document. And on 01 April 2019 I submitted the document, on 03 Apr it was delivered to the embassy.

Since then my "case update date" was changed almost 4 times in three weeks but my case status is still on "AP" and my wife's status is on "ready".

I am waiting but very worried .....?

No worries, you ll have you visa in hands within a month , good luck

Thank you! I was so excited. I received that email on November 1st, 2018 at 1:13pm.

My husband changed places of employment in April, his new job meant that he moved to a new state altogether. There aren't a lot of resources describing how we can update information like that when our case has already passed review. I'm pretty sure I should not wait until the appointment to notify them of the changes. Should I be concerned that the changes will harm my chances of being approved? How should I go about updating the changed information?

U dont need to be worried all the employment changes could be done when u go in ,just to be on safe side have ur husband to get a letter from his current employer stating hours hes working and what he makes hourly and ytd as well , that would help alot

My name is Carissa, I'm 25, Canadian, and in the process of obtaining a marriage-based immigration visa. I've been married to my American husband for 5 years but I haven't made it very far in this process due to being scammed by a fake online lawyer before this current attempt at obtaining a green card. We are at the point in the game where I have received the notice prompting me to schedule an appointment at the Montreal consulate and I'm thrilled!!! I'm really interested and eager to find people at a similar stage in the process to compare experiences, and I'll be posting a few questions I have in other discussions. I'm so glad to have found this site/wealth of immigration information. 😊

Good to know that your finally going in for an interview  , let us know what questions do you got ?

  13. I submitted the N400 based 3 years rule online.

I was supposed to upload 2015, 2016, 2017 tax return and I found I just uploaded 16 17 two years after application submitted.

I am worried about the denial because one year tax return missed. Do I need to send them in paper or just wait until they ask for?

Anyone has the same experience?  Appreciated!

No worries , same happened to me , i am taking my year 15 at my interview ..  if they need it they ll ask u to bring it in on the day of interview  ..good luck

Not terribly helpful, I’m afraid, but it could be that they’ve decided to do a combo interview. Or maybe they will just approve your ROC. Or maybe they’ll send you home again. Nothing they do seems to follow any discernible pattern.

Good luck, though - I hope they get their act together this time!

Thanks ,but they already had interview for i 751 like 3 months ago , 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Thanks, but it just took me to the same courthouse I just talked to.. they said that there are no more "certified" records for such old traffic tickets

Enter your zip code and then click on the public records then enter ur full name n dob , it should pull up  ur record no matter how old the ticket was its always available  . Just try hard man u ll find it , trust me

Update, I got ahold of the court house where the ticket was processed. They said 1) that the ticket was indeed under $500 (under $200 actually), and that 2) they no longer have anything that could be considered a "certified" record of it because it's so old. They said they would mail me a "sealed" copy of the records, but I'm pretty sure this is the same thing I could have printed online. Do you think this will be enough for the RFE? Should I include a note saying that the ticket was under $500 and I should not have mentioned it on the original application? I did word it on the i-129f form that "I don't remember how much the ticket was for and am not sure whether it was over $500 or not".

Hey no worries ,  click on this link and enter the zipcode

Household member and sponsor agreement. my mom is filing for my two brothers and once needs the I864 and since my mom has no income i am filing the I864A. however in previous 3 tax years, i have made below the amount however this year i am making over the amount required to sponsor. Does NVC look at your previous tax as your income or can they take what i've already made this year? As long as I provide proof?

Your current income is going to be considered, all u need to do is ask ur employer to write  a letter on company's letter head indicating your hourly wages and current gross income and submit the copy or the orignal one along with ur  i 864 , you ll be fine and good luck 😊
