  1. In DR its the norm ...not all consulates allows this & very rarely does Jamaica,

many spouses R made to sit outside under a shed during process, if an occasion

arises where the beneficiary seem to be not lie-ing but struggling to, whether explain

oneself or just not really being understood (even clueless) then if a spouse is outside

depending on CO, they will say go get the spouse....absolutely not the norm , go to

website and also read past reviews.

Everyone case is different, spouse is different & draw of luck ...so good all's well that ends well

Countries Like Jamaica ....what does that mean?

Ok i love you Jawaree but I have to disagree here. My husband wasn't lying about anything he simply didn't remember the date of my last visit. Had I hadn't been there to clarify things our visa would not have been issued.

  2. As the OP stated it's can be helpful to be there. But, to suggest that a couple will be denied for having a lack of proof of a bonafide relationship is inaccurate. Couples are rejected every day because the evidence they submitted to the USCIS is weak at best. But, for those couples who have dated photos, passport stamps, receipts, boarding passes, proof of ongoing communication, this will NEVER be an issue.

Ok I'm not trying to be rude here but when don't you understand? If Ihhadn't been there my husband would have been denied. Period. He would not be coming here on Thursday.

  3. Just wanted to let ya'll know that the CO specifically asked where I was and then called me into my husband's interview in Kingston Jamaica. My husband couldn't remember the exact date of my last trip and the CO told me that he was concerned. I told him I've been to see my husband 14 times since we met and then he asked how many times since we were married... I told him 8. He also asked me for dates of our most recent photos.

So my advice?? Go with your spouse to the interview!!! Because if any questionscome up tthere will be an opportunity to address them if you are there. They will ask where you are and will probably want to meet you. Especially for countries where there are significant cases of fraud.

I hope this helps. Not sure we would have gotten the visa if I hadn't been there.

  4. Hey guys so visa was printed yesterday Yay!!!!!! Now I need to know if I can pay 165 dollar green card fee the same day as hubby's flight before he lands or does it take a while for payment to be processed? Plus he won't have any printed confirmation with him at POE is that going to be a problem?? How will the officer know that payment has been processed and that we've registered via USCIS ELIS? He is going to leave Jamaica same day that he picks up visa so we won't be able to print anything out.

    Thanks much,

  5. Hey guys I know this has been asked a gazillion times but can anyone tell me if visa was printed on Friday morning if it will reach Montego Bay DHL by Tuesday? I'm not booking his flight yet but I just want to get an idea as to when he can be here. The plan is for him to pick up visa and then head to airport the same day. He doesn't want to make two trips to Montego Bay from Negril. I will pre - register him and pay the green card fee on the USCIS website before he gets on the plane. I hope they don't ask him for a receipt at POE.

    Thanks much,

  6. I am so happy right now I can't breathe. Our CR-1 visa has been printed!!! 2 Weeks and 3 days after the interview (November 26th) It's been issued and printed.

I just want to thank all of my Jamaica friends who have encouraged me throughout this process. And thanks for putting up with me freaking out all the time. I know I've been annoying but honestly this whole process has taken so much out of me.

Total time from filing to Issued: 1 year and about 1 week.

Thanks so much to all of you for your support throughout this journey. Much love to you all and continued success on your journeys.

  7. Hey guys,

So ever since my husband's visa was approved on November 26th I've been calling DOS multiple times a day. My first question, is this hurting our case by me calling so much? Someone told me that it actually delays the case by pulling it out of queue or something. I dunno.

Second question, why do I get a different story every time I call? The men are so much nicer to me and tell me the visa is about to be issued and to give it a few more days and that interview went well and everything looks great lol. I was told our case is moving at lightening speed for Jamaica but not to expect my husband to be here before the holidays. The women are very rude and just tell me that the case is in AP and is pending and that there is nothing I can do, etc.

Last thing, yesterday, after being stuck on Ready for 16 days our case status finally moved to Administrative Processing at 1:30 yesterday. I was told this is a good sign as others generally have moved from Ready to AP to Issued within a few days.

Sorry to be obsessing but my husband and I are both so upset over this whole thing. I hear the desperation in his voice when I call Jamaica and its killing me. I don't know what to tell him anymore.
