My husband had his interview at the embassy on Feb. 3, 2014. The CO told him he was approved, took his passport, and told him that he would have his visa within 2 weeks. Friday we checked the status on CEAC, and it changed from Ready, to Refused. The embassy sent me this email...with no further explanation.
    Dear Madam:

Thank you for contacting us. Your case is pending due to required additional administrative processing. Administrative processing refers to various additional steps that must be taken before a visa can be issued. Typically, this process lasts at least 9 months but, on occasion, it can take longer. We are not able to take any further action until the additional administrative processing is complete. Once the additional administrative processing is complete, a consular officer will review the case. The following documents may require renewal at the conclusion of the administrative processing:

    1. Police certificates: valid for one year from the date of issuance.
    2. DS-260/DS-230 part I and II: valid for one year from the date of signature.
    3. Medical report: valid for six months from the date of the exam.

You may now check on the status of your pending immigrant visa application online by visiting the Department of State’s Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) website: https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/.

We are heart broken..how can they do this, after approval at the embassy and taking his passport

Hi everyone...I havent been very active on VJ...sometimes it is just very difficult to see the posts. Consulate returned our file to the US and asked them to review it on June 15 2014...we recieved the NOIR and responded...they received the evidence on November 4, 2014...305 pages of evidence...4 trips in 2 years...3 years of phone call, sms, skype and viber logs....now we are waiting for them to give us their answer..they say a maximum of 60 days but our lawyer and congressman says, "no it won't take that long." .I can only pray that God hears us and helps us...thanks for just listening.....sometimes we have to talk just to get everything off our chest.

The form you are talking about is a Congressional Constituent form....it allows your congressman to speak to USCIS on your behalf. If Congress offers to help..accept this help. Our Congressman helped us, and it went from 7 months with no NOA2...to an expedition all the way to the embassy. Good luck to you.

Not to say anything bad but you filed in August? and have heard nothing? We filed in March and up until 2 weeks ago...we hadnt even got NOA2 yet...I got the congressman involved and he requested an expedite for us...my husand is in the occupied west bank....now it is approved but this was 8 months waiting...everyone knows this process takes so much time and we all wait. Again, Im not trying to be rude, but there are people on VJ that have waited much longer than 3 months for approval.

I received a response from my congressman...I requested an expedite also, and they replied back to me and enclosed a letter from USCIS...this letter says that they have requested my husbands file, and as soon as she has this..it will be handed to the expedite team for review....the congressmans office says since our file is at NBC .....it takes 30 days to get approval or denial....Hope this helps.

No reason to get upset with my post..this is just me voicing my frusterations. When I said that i refuse to let anyone tell me who I can marry or not marry, or love...I simply mean that this is a choice I made...and I knew that there would be a wait.....but for my own choice.....I simply choose (if necessary) to go live in his country...rather than sit here another year waiting on his approval...there is no work for him in the west bank..even though he has a bachelors degree....it is hard to see your husband go through the same routine each day of trying to survive...all because he lives in a primitive country...and everyone knows that the West Bank is a war zone...just like Gaza. .If you knew the whole background...about how immigrations officers treated me when I came in POE, and I was honest and told them why I went to the middle east...you would understand more. The whole process is stressful...and I sympathize with each of you. We are a nation of immigrants...and I welcome background checks....but having worked for a school district, and undergone an FBI background check numerous times...I know that the district had their results back on me within a week....When i entered POE...I wasnt afraid from all of the muslim people around me...I was afraid from my own people.

I sit here and read about this persons approval in 39 days...and here I am waiting 7 months...with nothing from NBC....are we being punished because we choose to marry instead of applying for a fiance visa? I'm so disappointed in the whole process and I don't believe anything anyone tells me anymore...I have had lawyers tell me.....You are an American...your husband is Arab..you can't go live in his country so it is the U.S Governments job to bring your husband to you....why did I ever believe these words....I have already decided that if this process takes much longer for approval..I will go live in the West Bank....I refuse to let anyone tell me who I can marry, and who I can love.

Still waiting also for NOA2....I know that I am still within the adjudication timeline...but this is so difficult. I ask God to help all of us, and to put our papers in the right hands to get this finished..I need my husband with me...and he needs me. Good luck to everyone..may God be with each of you.

Good Evening. I just wanted to take the time to reach out to you and tell you that I really understand how you feel. I too am awaiting my Palestinian love here in the states and it gets harder and harder everyday. I however am applying for a fiance visa and he is living in Jordan, not the West Bank. I was able to spend about 9 months with him in Jordan before having to return home to await his visa. The first month or so I felt withdrawn and sad because nobody else around me including friends and family could possibly understand the feelings that I was dealing with. I kept saying to my fiance how badly I wished that there was a forum for other people in our situation so that I wouldn't feel so alone. Then I found Visa Journey and initially I was thrilled. But then I started doing the same thing as you. I spent hours upon hours reading other feeds about other people filing for the fiance visa well after I did and getting approved. I started to panic a lot. You also cannot help but to read other forums about other people freaking out and panicking about something that went wrong. This builds anxiety upon anxiety upon anxiety…No Bueno. It finally got to the point where my fiance and I agreed that me going on Visa Journey was more detrimental than beneficial. I started to calm down and just accept that was in God's hands and that everything is going to be ok. I know how much we love each other and that inspired me to acknowledge that there is power in that. We are going to be together no matter what. In my mind its destined or as he loves to tell me, "its written." So I decided to channel my energy into nurturing my now long distance relationship with him and exercising so I can look and feel great when he finally does get here. And then last week OUT OF NOWHERE…I get notification that we were accepted. Now we are moving to the next step and I couldn't be happier. I know its hard my friend but please do your best not to obsess. It can really take a toll on you and your relationship. Try to channel your energy into something positive. I DO LOVE Visa Journey and I'm thankful for the digital community of support that it offers. But make sure that you utilize it to benefit your visa process rather than hinder it. I will keep you in my prayers. I too understand the constant worry for his safety. Enshallah they will be here soon and we can start our lives.
