It does depend on the embassy which is why 1-3 months is normal processing after approval of waiver up to receiving passport. With Mexico usually about 4 weeks to receive approval letter, inst letter waybill etc and other countries like El Salvador can take a couple of months after approval to process.why does it take another 1-3 months to get the Visa? I would think it depends on the embassy.

They are currently working July and August, not sure why that sentence you refer to always back dates 2 months but August 2 is the current priority date however ther are still people waiting from march - June also.

Yes, I601 waiver.

They are currently working on July and August waivers

I601a is only filed if you are here in the United States, otherwise you would file the standard i601.

He could just petition to change his name once he arrives here in the US and then show the final decree of name change to proper authorities here to get his documents reprinted to reflect his new name.

I also had rfe for more evidence when I did my i130 and I also submitted an evolution of relationship letter along with more emails and chat logs.

Hello, Does anyone have any timelines on how long it takes from when you file the i-601 to the date that you get the approval and the visa??? How long is that part.. thank you!My husband has his appt. for the 25 of February and my lawyer has the i-601 ready. Sooo, the big question I have is how long after that point, if we are fully approved to move forward to apply for the i-601...Thank you!
if you are filing an i601, it is around 6-9 months average time to approve/deny then another 1-3 months to get visa and come back, if you are filing an i601a then they process in about 4-5 months average.

Have you been to the immigrate2us.net site yet? That site helped me out a lot with my waiver. There is much more waiver filers and sample letters, etc. there.
-
the 601a is to be filed if you are here in the united states, and the 601 waiver is to be filed after your interview if you are outside of the united states.

It is more difficult to get documents notarized in Mexico. I just had the ones in US notarized, and it came out fine.

it will be fine.

Can your husband not get a job?
-
If it was a 601 and not a 601a they are currently processing 601's submitted in July so we still have a few months to wait. The 601a's have a shorter wait time though.

Hi, Are you asking if you need to file a waiver? Or are you asking how to prepare a waiver for filing? If you need to prepare a waiver to file, start gathering your hardship evidence to file it along with the 601 or 601a form. the 601's can take a while to prepare and they are taking around 6-8 months for approval, the 601a's are less time to process..

When my husband had his interview in Mexico, we had everything translated to english version. birth certificates, marriage, etc. we took originals in spanish and the english translated ones also.
-
Not sure on that one but I would just focus on having everything ready for your interview. Im sure they will have your file by the time your interview takes place.

We called NVC last Wednesday and they told me that our case was complete, again I called yesterday and the confirm that but still no email or letter saying anything, they say they a re waiting for the consulate date of interview.
It's this ok? I feel like something is missing.
Yes, its ok. this is normal.

you can travel as much as you would like to go and see him during the process. good luck
-
Lol I follow that site too and just saw that on the thread. Hopefully you just forgot a signature or something similar, good luck. I am trying to patiently continue to wait also.
-
When is your priority date?
-
I will more than likely just go to Mexico and be with him. I have already lived in Mexico for two years to be with him. We have a child together so finding someone else isn't an option.
I actually love it there in Mexico and wish I could go more often.
I wish you and your family the best!

So sorry for the news this must be a really difficult time for you two. I know you have an attorney already, but i think you should get a second opinion. Also go over to the immigrate2us.net page it has tons of information on waivers and bans. Good luck.
