  1. @shawnaroxanne Welcome to this crazy corner of VJ. We all can sympathize with you. The drinking can help sometimes, but it did get me into a little trouble a few times years ago when I wrote some things here I really shouldn't have! LOL Some mods may remember.... But honestly it's all a wild roller coaster and will eventually be over and worth it. Feel free to share your thoughts and fears. We will try to help, but beware when we get to know you better we may tease you a little. It's all in good fun. Would be interesting to know more about you like where you fiance is from, etc. Again welcome, and strap in for the ride.
  2. You have so many siesta failures I suggest you skip them and just have a cup of coffee instead. Hey look. It's that same old guy dumpster diving again! LOL
  3. Where do you put all this "stuff" you accumulate each weekend? I mean, how often do you use yellow Caution tape? Much clutter at your casa?
  4. While many of you will be getting snow and ice today we will hit 85. Guess it's going to be a beach day.
  5. Same thing happens here when a hurricane is within 1000 miles.
  6. You thought you got rid of me for a while, but I am back. Only needed a reboot of my modem and all is well, as far as I can tell.
  7. LPoP and no see...
  8. Seems like the government still isn't willing to substantially penalize employers that get caught hiring illegals. Would be a big help.
  9. Xfinity by Comcast at both locations.
  10. If Minnesota would cooperate with ICE and honor detainers most of this wouldn't be happening. Biden's open boarder policy and sanctuary states have created much of this mess.
  11. Well it looks like I will need to play computer and network tech over the next few days. For some reason I am not able to access VJ from any computer working off my home network. At first I thought it was a VJ problem, but I am able to access from the office just fine. I'll probably start by rebooting my modem and network. If that doesn't work I'll have to ask Google or an AI site. Funny because I don't have any problems with accessing other websites. If you don't hear from me for a while that's the reason.
  12. I just checked here and will reach into the low 80's this weekend with lows in the mid 60's. Sorry....
  13. No cholesterol in nuts. In fact nuts contain good fats that should help lower your cholesterol.
  14. Well I can tell you the the temperature in Chicago was NOT Many degrees, and certainly NOT enough. As we were preparing to land I told my wife I was not thinking when I arranged this trip to pick up the new pup. We should have come up a few days earlier to stay and explore downtown Chicago since my wife had never been there. Then we landed and discovered what 15 degrees really feels like. I will NEVER go back there in the winter. Fortunately I only exited the airport terminal for about 5 minutes to take possession of the pup. My wife has warm fur coats that she misses wearing, but even she is no longer tolerant of such cold.
  15. Feels like temp here is 3. No problem. I’m at the airport gate ready to head home. 77 at home today.bb
  16. OK, no more complaining about the cold in FL. Just flew into Chicago and it’s freaking 14 degrees with some of that “snow” stuff on the ground. How do you people tolerate that? I mean really. Why? Do you all like that kind of weather? You all are nuts.
  17. It’s too freaking cold….55 this morning and will only get into the low 70’s today
  18. Snow? What's that? Ha! Is it cold?
  19. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Oh my word. Went to Walmart this am and saw 38 degrees. WOW. Good thing I was prepared and wearing my long thermal underwear. Only making it up to the mid 60's today, but will make it to the mid 70's tomorrow. That's 38 degrees, or as @TBoneTX would say "NOT many Degrees" And tomorrow we are flying up to Chicago to pick up (another) dog from our breeder. The weather app says it will be 16 degrees (worse than NOT many). Fortunately not leaving the airport as the breeder is bringing the pup to us at the airport. Just hope I don't have to go outside to meet them. I'm not planning on bringing a "winter" jacket. It's a very quick trip. leaving SW Florida about 9:30 and should be back by 8:30. Wish me luck.
  20. So just to clarify, you're fine with illegals being here as long as they have not committed very serious crimes?
  21. Do you want me to tell you how bad a driver she is? Don't try to get me in trouble...
  22. I usually try to break them one at a time. LOL Last one I broke was several years ago. I was walking the dog and I knew better than to go to one corner of the driveway that was super slick, but the dog "made me" go there. Fell and heard the snap. After a while the dog and I both crawled to the house. It was my right leg which made driving impossible. I was totally dependent on my wife for transportation, and that was scary!
  23. No decline there Many years ago I lived in a neighborhood with an HOA. Same thing happened to a neighbor. Used to be that ALL the houses were beige with brown trim, yuck. A few folks had changed their colors and it was OK, perhaps there were new approved colors. Then my neighbor painted her house and was promptly told it was NOT an approved color. They made her repaint. At the next yearly meeting a friend convinced me that the two of us should run for the board... and we were elected. We changed that rule. After my term was up I moved to where I am now, on acreage where the neighbors aren't too close and mind their own business. Sounds like there are some issues with communication between the board and the management team and the residents. Sounds like you did what you needed to. Worst case you might have to repaint...
  24. Three, just like everyone else.
  25. Are you really sure you want to be here? Careful where you step...LOL Welcome! For the past many months my right neck and shoulder have really been bothering me. I'm sure it's occupation/posture related. I keep trying to treat the muscle pain with icey hot or biofreeze but it's only temporary relief. The time spent away from work over the holidays helped a lot but started acting up again when I got back to the routine. Heat has been helping the most. Just started trying an old neck/back stretcher the my wife used to use and that seems to provide almost instant relief. I'm starting to think I have a bulging disk or pinched nerve in my neck. Guess it's time to go have this looked at. Sucks getting old.
