Sigh!
6 months from NOA1 to NOA2 ? That doesn't even include the interview yet ?
Mine was Feb 7 and I have no clue where my paper work is now.
Still have an MSC case number and my update does not show it was transferred to my local office.
Calling to wait an hour for an IO sounds ridiculous.
if you want to know about your file you will have to call.. there is a new system where you can leave a message and have an IO call you back. you will NOT get notified that your case was sent to a local office.. most msc cases are sent to local offices with very few being kept and processed at the nbc

Lol, If i didnt have an attitude i wouldnt be human, also im 17 but matured well for my age. my hubby is more of the immature one lol,
Just looking for info here.. Not jokes, but i cant seem to get it, so thank you anyways.
what kind of help are you looking for? yes you can ask questions and get answers, but they have to be specific to the process. this is a self help site, so there is a lot of research you will have to do on your own.. even more with the age thingy..

Well if it is transferred then they will send me something saying that my case has been transferred. I have not received anything as of yet.
no they dont

Hello friends!
My best friend of 9 years and girlfriend of 4 have been in a long-distance relationship for the past 2 years and we are finally planning to have her move back in 8 months this December so we can get married!
We qualify for pretty much all the categories and my only concern is the income requirement that comes with the K-1 petition. I have a couple part-time jobs and am currently involved in a startup that is taking up all of my time and most of my income. I would like to know if y'all would recommend that I put this startup on hold and pursue a more stable-income position so that we can heighten our chances of having our Fiancee Visa approved! At this point I am simply not making enough to ensure that it will be approved based on income alone.
Thanks so much for reading and I welcome any advice!
All best and happy Wednesday!
Lucas
if you have not filed the 129 by now, you are going to be hard pressed to have her come by the end of the year at this point.
the income question is more up to you.. the lack of meeting the poverty guidelines will result in rfe, a delay or worse. the interviewing officer makes the call

When I called and entered my receipt number, it gives the same message it has since they received it. From my understanding, it is at the National Benefits Center.
since August, almost all 130's have been routed to a local office.. this is posted on the uscis site. you can only find out after you talk to an IO (tier 2 human)
search uscis or vj and you will get confirmation on that one
-
The last thing you want is to be told at the interview that you need another document... why not get the 2012 transcripts and send them?

Should I expect (yes, I know you can't ever "expect" these things, but humor me here) that she gets the visa by, say, October/November? Trying to plan out vacation days and such. Still no NOA2.
first you need to know where your file is
then you can get an idea of how long
your file is probably at a local office now.. check my timeline below.. I filed in February also but had the fortune to go through a local office that was not buried.

Hi guys i need help what next step after my approval?

Hi all, my fiancé and I are trying to figure out how to contact the USCIS and speak to an actual person? we have tried calling the 1-800-375-5283 number but it is just an automated voice recording.. I was wondering how people here on vj get through to service reps and tier 2 reps and such? any help would be much appreciated
. today is 8 months and 5 days for us and we are still yet to be approved..
Thanks guys
don't press anything.. when they answer in Spanish, say English please and off you go
cr is the first person you will talk to
if you insist on talking to an IO, you will be given the option to hold or leave a message.. hold times can go over an hour

I know that the consulates don't allow phones in and I was hoping my husband could call me after he left his interview. Just looking to see what others did with their phones if they traveled far. Do they allow you to leave your phone with security and retrieve it on the way out? Any place near the consulate where he can leave his phone that's trustworthy?
might as well search for other users with the same embassy and pm them.. every embassy scenario is different, some will hold your phones, other places have a store close by that will hold things

Hi - Can and Should the US Petitioner attend interview in Bucharest, Romania for Romanian Beneficiary? I've searched around at various forums and haven't found a clear answer. Anyone with advice is welcome.
Thanks.
e-mail the embassy with your question, they will give you the most accurate response.. my emails are generally answered within a day or two

Just when I started to get excited about my wife (USC) coming back to live with me for next 3-4 months (in India), I heard from someone that she cannot live for so long as I need to show her source of income from past 6 months to the consular before I approach for interview. Please clarify me if my partner can live with me in India or will she have to go back in few weeks to work there and show the source of income? Confused
she will eventually have to file an affidavit of support which will include how much she earns or has in savings.. for a 130 this will be at the nvc stage.. plenty of threads about this out there if you search for it

I already filed for my mom only to come here in the US. My questions are:
1.) what are the requirements does the embassy in Manila require for my mom's interview and medical so that she can prepare early?
2.) How long does it take for her to come in the US?
3.)USCIS says that the papers are forwarded to the NVC, what does it mean? does it mean that the petition was approved or not yet? Did not said on the letter that was approved, it just says that it was forwarded.
4.) what's next? or what should we expect next from the USCIS? what should I prepare in advance as a petitioner? it's been almost 2 months that I did not hear from the USCIS.
Thank you so much all!!!!
no timeline, no petition type, no answers

Wow you are so lucky. I sent mine a day before you and still waiting. Well mine says that it is at the benefits center. Unfortunately online there isn't a timeline so that's why I asked here. I really hope I get something in may, keeping my fingers crossed.
you can only find out about the transfer by talking to an io at uscis, it will not be noted online if it is transferred

Hey guys!
I just realized that there is no longer an approved doctor to do the exams in Brasilia, where my fiance is from! So have any of you do you know of anyone who has done there exam in Rio days before the interview? Is it hard to get n appt?
have your fiancé call the doctor directly for that information.. some members may have that info for you, but it is the doctor who has the workload

It has been nearly a full month since my NOA2 and NVC has not received my file yet. Has this happened before to anyone? What's the course of actions in such a case?
plenty
search the threads and you will find one that specifically addresses this situation
you can always call and check with uscis as to the exact date it was sent.. there are several centers which are sending them in batches, so they just sit on them for a few weeks unfortunately.. if your petition was routed through nbc first, it will be sent there and then forwarded to nvc.. you are not alone if that helps

just wanted to share that i too called to follow up since i havent seen any updates online. My priority date is feb 25, and tier 2 IO said my case is pending and is still at NBC and has not been transferred to any local office. (Im from Las Vegas). He did tell me the processing time is 6months to 1 year, which makes me think of filing for 129F now... nothing to lose, even if it is obsolete.
it seems i see more and faster approvals of 129f than cr-1's at least here in vj forums
highly doubtful it will take more than six months... I would call back in 2-3 weeks and check again.. 99% are sent out to local offices at some point
You mean 5 month mark from the day I send my application? Because I send it on Jan 25.
Thanks!
from noa1 pd

Or 20...30...50...100...200...400...
Yeah like that
I am not so sure how helpful that is in the end because files are not processed in the exact order they are received, more like the order in which the person is processing the ones they receive on their desk
-
I live in Orange, California. Nearest office I think is Santa Ana or Los Angeles? How can we check about nearest office?
Thanks!
here is the santa ana office.. looks painful.. def pushing the five month mark there
I just called USCIS and they told me that my I-130 filed on Feb 20 is being processed in NBC. There is not an estimation of completion time, nor could they tell me any information about if it was in work flow or even being touched. He also wouldn't answer any questions of any kind about processing times. I asked very directly if it would be transferred to my local field office. He said that there was a small possibility. Do you think my infopass apt. will be a waste of time?
the cr that answers the phone can not tell you
you have to speak with an io
wait time the other day for me was almost an hour
good luck

Here is item #1 on the checklist...
Payment as required by USCIS. Use a personal check so you can track the payment. Money Orders are also accepted.
However, it does not exactly say make check payable to USCIS and I can't find in the FAQ such an answer. I have double and triple checked everything and don't want to screw up payment. Is the check to be made out to USCIS?
thanks
really??? man cumon read up on this stuff... the instructions are available on uscis site, it is there..
you pay us dpt of homeland security, although some here have filled it out uscis with no issues

Hi everybody,
I had checked my case status on USCIS yesterday and I was soooo excited because it said that my Petition for I129F had been approved, and that the NOA2 had been mailed to me on April 22nd. Obviously, I was incredibly excited and in tears.
I just checked it today and it says that it's in Initial Review.. and this is what it says: On April 23, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that you filed.
Does anyone know what's going on?! Has anyone had this happen before!? Is it approved or not??
Any help is so very much appreciated!
Angela
yes you should call.. I have read about several people that had this happen with the end result being approved.. it def means your case is moving though

Are you sure it's 90 days from visa issuance? From what I've read, it's up to 6 months. Some say it's 6 months from the medical evaluation date. So, if my fiance gets her eval 2 months before the interview, then we would have another 4 months to travel and then 90 days to marry after arriving.
visa good for travel for six months
marry within 90 days of POE

Hello VJers,
I filed I 130 for my hubby from overseas, mailed it to my parents in March, and received NOA1 via text email March 11.Hard copy received Mar 29.
However the check was unfortunately drawn on a joint account with my parents which had closed due to dormancy and my parents overlooked the fact. How i came to know this is Bank sent a letter around march 15th informing there was an attempt to draw a check but it was declined due to inactive account. They also confirmed the account could not be re-instated.
I was thinking of re-sending the whole I 130 package as I read here and other places they either reject the packet back to the sender or trash it.
But they sent a letter to my parents address around march 25th saying the payment could be made via CC(calling Pay.gov) or by another check.Since paying by card is fast my dad paid it through his CC the same day and it shows up in his billed statement.
I received NOA1 hard copy at my foreign address March 31 here although i had asked them in the cover letter to send all notifications to my parents US address. The NOA1 hard copy has a PD of march 8, 2013.Obviously the letter was sent even before the payment through my dad's card was processed as it was mailed out on March 11 according to the stamp on the envelope.does this mean they process and issue receipt # even without any payment? i know nobody would eventually not pay up for I 130 ofcourse!! but i am just curious..
Now its almost a month plus since mar 8th, and the case status for my recpt MSCXXX does not show up online, should i be worried? does it retain the Mar 08 PD or is it reset? do they issue another receipt #?
Thanks,
my case didn't show up online until it was approved.. totally normal these days, but the good thing is that if you call you have to speak to an IO, because the cr can only see what you can see .. which is nothing

I posted my scenario because someone in my situation might find the information useful. You seem to have alot of opinions/knowledge about how I submitted my visa application. The fact is you dont know anything. Your nothing more than an over opinionated condescending #######. You might need to question your own process, not mine. My application was accepted the first time, which is what we wanted. So obviously we did something right and our method worked. I posted for the simple reason to hopefully help someone else out. What have you posted for? Besides to sling your useless opionions? Do you know why the processing of a visa takes so long? Its not because I sent in a well organized application. Its called a background check, times 2. Thats the main reason. But Im sure a know it all like you already knows that. Im glad the way I submitted my application upsets you. If I could do anything to delay your process more I would, just because your nothing more than a forum troll. Instead of slinging a bunch of bullshit around this forum why dont you post something helpful instead?
sorry bud, but speedwell was correct, not to mention knowledgeable and helpful to plenty of members. I did not see his remarks as being condescending, but quite accurate.
My whole petition was less than 40 pages including the g-whatevers, passport copies and the like.. and I was approved in 2.5 months. the front loading is best served with high fraud countries of which you and speedwell are not associated with.. take some time to get to know the site and the members before going off on some tangant. background checks are minimal dude the real time is the wait to get on someone's desk
Strong words from a newbie. I certainly hope your confidence in your process is justified.
some people aren't willing to hear about reality

yes you can withdraw.. it is very easy.. you can do nothing and it will eventually expire, or you write a letter to the address on your noa1 with your request and it will be processed relatively quickly
