Chez&Rick reacted to del-2-5-2014 in Does status "Issued" in CEAC means my visa is already for dispatched?
    According to CEAC
"Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted."
Issued means visa has been printed.

    He can't (won't) say good-bye.
Does he want me? Does he not?
    Been there, done that.
    So much hurt.
I ended the relationship, it started to sound like a soap opera.
35 years later folks, he has not changed one iota.
Sends emails saying; "keep in touch, you never know".....
    Flattery and other empty words.
    He has not changed.
I have, and am so thankful I found the strength to end it.
Found new love, new life and never looked back.
    Yes, I loved him....
    but love is not enough!!!
Wishing you a happy fulfilled rest of your life hon!

Take it from a male viewpoint (mine): If you grit your teeth and continue, you can only expect more of the same behavior in the future. He's not ready. Depending on his age (if he's older than his late 20s), he might never be.
Personal note, with apologies if it's inappropriate to state it here: When I was single, it frosted my jaws to encounter woman after woman who, although otherwise stable in every other way, kept throwing themselves at guys who were incapable of ever committing. A true relationship is one in which there is no question of mutual commitment, whether the question is "in your faces" or nagging at the back of your minds. Do what you will, but I don't think that this relationship is true or that it would last if you manufactured its continuation.
Depending on your self-assurance, thank him for the memories, turn your back, and look only forward. Of all the fish in the sea, this one should be thrown back.

Hi Meg. I know it is very difficult for you. But i hope in the end you will decide to keep your baby. It is a blessing. Things may be not easy for now, but im sure it will eventually get better. Seek support from your friends and family. I will pray for you and your baby.

Im not in your situation but I ask you please dont end the life of your baby. Your baby was conceived for a purpose. You may have the future president in your stomach, or the scientist that finds a cure for cancer. Who knows! What a wonderful gift you have to be carrying a baby

sheesh.. what's the matter if someone advised her not to get an abortion? It's their advice, not yours. give one of your own if you want to, its free. People can be too nosey.

You don't have your facts straight, I did not bring in his friends. He talked to them, I didn't even suggest it. He then told me what they said.
I had a trained professional in order to give US the best chance of success at US. They pointed out that this would be something we would have to overcome. As it is an integral part of any marriage. They called it the glue that holds people together when times are tough.
I was willing to deal with my ability to manage my own expectations, and I did so. But I asked him to please be sensitive to this issue. I don't think anyone in that situation would have not asked for some empathy when you are 3000 km away and having to deal with the changes in your body alone. and going to a scary procedure alone.
You are entitled to your opinion, but I trust in what I know, and what actually transpired.

I think that you should know, I accepted everything. I apologized, I asked for counselling I communicated what I was feeling.
I asked him repetedly if he was sure this is what he wanted.
And his own closest friends told him it was an innapropriate thing to say given the context of the stuation. Which obviously I didn't print all of as it was pretty tough as it is.
For the record, I've never tried to change anything about him. Only asked that he make an effort to meet me half way.
This was also the advise of trained professionals.
More importantly, he never expressed even a shred of this issue prior to this week.
I doubt anyone who knows me, including him, would classify me as a control freak.
According to our therapist and to him, I am a "pleaser". All I asked for was a little consideration for what I was going though, all by myself.
I have never said that he was a bad person. I have never said that he or I was perfect. Please don't read into things that are not there.

Hello, I was earlier this year faced with the prospect that my fiance' was pregnant. She was worried about this very thing that I would have a change of mind about her and my child. She being strong of spirit said to me that if I would decide to abandon her she would have and raise the baby by herself no matter what it would take, knowing in herself how precious life is. Though I was very distraught that she would think I would do this I understood her distress given similar experiences by her abandoned pregnant friends. Considering what forms needed to expedite her and child if needed we found out she was not pregnant. I admire her tenacity and resolve to do what she felt was right even though I was accepting of the possibility of her being with child. So in this i'm saying find in yourself the need for survival of you and child. I have had my heart crushed as my fiance' has also had her heart crushed in the past but with God it was possible to move on. Life is not done for you!!! God bless!!

    Meg,
thank you for having the courage to talk about your problems, to answer your last question how to tell your child... I have raised my 17 year old son alone since he was 6 month's old.. his mother abandoned him and I was left to pick up the pieces... it is so difficult to talk to your child about the other person ... but i was able to muddle thru it.. life is not perfect. i can tell that you are a very caring and thoughtful person. you will weather this storm, never give up on yourself.

If she didnt want peoples' thoughts on her situation she wouldnt be posting it on a public forum.
It'd be different if people were being distasteful in replying saying "you're this or that if you have an abortion" or "you're selfish if you decide to keep the baby", as long as the replies are constructive and her wellbeing is considered in peoples' answers then no one is stepping out of line.

Chez&Rick reacted to cjmc in Our K1 Interview, Aug 8th, 2013 From My Perspective.......
It is finally over...that big day that we all think about that is in the future sometime that gives us that big unknown feeling.....
The day before our interview, we traveled to Manila and checked into the Casa Bocobo Hotel which is not far away from the Embassy. This is a great place to stay, clean, quite, breakfast included and very affordable....and the staff !!!....they are very friendly and accommodating.
We tried to get a good night sleep, but with all the anticipation of the next day, it was very hard. We set my iphone to wake us up at 4:00 am....uggg !! we reluctantly rolled out of bed as that horrible alarm sounded off.....and then we started to prepare for the day ahead.
We finally made it down to the lobby area of the hotel and pulled out all of our paper work which we went back over using the really nice check lists that have been created by great contributors of this forum...and thanks so much for that !!!
After eating a hearty breakfast, which is very important by the way !!!!, we were on our way to the Embassy to arrive by 7:00 am. Our official appointment time was 7:30 am.
We found a few small lines that had formed and we were eventually informed which one was for the K1 Visa. After a short wait in line...we made it to the front and were asked for the first group of paperwork, just as the checklists had indicated.
In we go...through security and then to a covered outside area with lots of chairs and a couple of electronic reader boards flashing lots of numbers. One of the things given to us at the first paperwork check point, was our number...6203.
So, we sat down and waited for our number to flash on the big screen....!!!. There were hundreds of people sitting in this area, all anticipating the same thing..."when will our number flash on the screen" and, you never know when that will happen !!!!
During our 2 hr wait at this point, I had time to observe a few things, like the "Embassy Cat" which was a caramel colored male cat, just roaming around, looking for a free handout and playing with the kids that were waiting with their parents.
Then, there were the people that were unprepared, that were trying to get all their paperwork ready....they were asking a lot of questions of the ladies in blue that were there to help.
People are just waiting and waiting for that next step that begins when your number flashes up on the screen, one by one, they slowly disappear into the big embassy building just off the side from where we were sitting.
Our number finally arrived on that big board in the sky.....it had taken 2 hrs for that to happen and most everyone had already been called, we were some of the few left and it certainly had us wondering what was going on.....
As we were then able to move into the Embassy building, we passed through another security checkpoint and directed to go right to window #42 for Biometrics, and then to take a seat and watch for our number. This was again, a very large room with hundreds adults and some children sitting, and waiting.
In this area, there were probably at least 6 of the very large display screens spaced across the front of the room, all flashing the numbers that will eventually change the lives of the people they were attached to. You could also see the many interview windows, actively being used by the consul personnel, asking for documentation and interviewing Visa applicants.
To our surprise, the wait time at this stage was just a little under 1 1/2 hrs....we were called to window #46 to find a very nice, young Filipino man. He was very friendly and courteous, only asked a couple of questions of both of us and we were then on our way back to our seats, to again wait for our number to flash on the big screen.
We were then totally caught off guard when it only took 30 minutes to be called to window 60 to meet with a US Consul. Again, we were greeted by a very friendly person, a younger lady this time. She glanced at our file, asked us a couple of questions, looked at us....said she really liked it when the petitioner attends the interview and made the statement "I can see you two have a bonafide relationship, I don't need to look at anything else", "your file is approved" !!!!
Just a couple more very quick window stops now. One was for a review of our file to make sure it was all complete, and then a verification of where the visa and passport were to be delivered. Both these only took a few more minutes....we were all done by 11:30 am......
Here are a few points that I feel made our file work well in the system:
It was well organized with cover pages for each section that clearly showed what was included. I yellow highlighted important things so they would stand out to the interviewer at a glance.
All boxes need something in them, ie......the information requested, NA, N/A, None....if you cannot type it in then hand write it in.
Do not sign the DS-156K, you do that in front of the Consul.
Use the checklists that this forum has provided...clearly the people that were not prepared were not members of VJ !!!!
Even though these are very stressful moments....try and look happy...be friendly and pay attention !!!!
I hope I got it all....not really sure, but I am really tired and time to crash, tomorrow is another day....
    Cheers,
    cjmc

Welcome to the ongoing Case Complete to Interview monthly thread.
We will be building hopefully monthly FAQ and other tidbits that may be useful to you.
Be sure to let us know if there’s something you would like to see.

    FAQ
I just called and got Case Complete how long does it take to get the email as confirmation?
Well it has been taking 5 to 7 days to get case complete email from the date they Case Complete.
How long after Case Complete will I get an interview?
Okay this is the BIG mystery of NVC. How it usually goes is end of the month and first week of month they start scheduling for interviews for the that upcoming month. Since January they have been pretty consistent starting about the last 2 days of the month and finishing that following first week of next month
Do I have to call for my interview date?
NVC has improved greatly since March. The interview letter now comes day of schedule. So call if you want its up to you.
I know someone who got interview in the middle of the month. How is that possible?
Usually when you see someone pop up with an interview outside the bunch its usually the result of a cancellation or the embassy opening up a slot. Just because scheduling stops doesn't mean they filled up all slots. They may have more slots than appointments which is good. So someone gets case complete and immediately they get an interview. It happens.
Remember every embassy has its own slots and schedule. Some like El Salvador are very busy with a long waiting list. Some like Yemen, well it may be a few months to get in. Iceland you get interview immediately scheduled after case Complete.
I need to change our interview date what do I do?
Once you receive your interview date track your casefile. Call NVC ask when your casefile left than you can follow the DHL instructions to embassy. The contact your embassy (email is best) and ask to be rescheduled later, earlier just ask.
Just to remind everyone to revisit the Post #1 and Post #2 of the NVC Filers thread.

If you have not done so yet, you can call USCIS and ask them the exact date they sent out your petition to NVC. Sometimes they wont send it out for a few days or even weeks from what i have read before. Best to call about 2 minutes before they open and they will take extra time to get info for you if their nice that day , thats what we did and they gave us a date they sent it to NVC. Good Luck

We had an issue on our G325A as well, this is what we were told to do and it worked.
If it does not fit in the block, you are gonna write "See Attachment", inside that block and you are gonna type up a attachment sheet. For example on ours it was the G325A and my wifes mother birth place was to long for it so this is what the attached sheet looked like below, only difference will be the block that its to small to write in. You are gonna write exactly what the question is after the date of birth line and type what the block asks and your gonna answer it underneath the question. Then when u send the forms be sure to attach it with a paper clip and include it in your cover sheet so they know you have an attachment for that form. I hope this helps and good luck on your journey
