Vietnam Immigration play tricks and say that you have a high temperature bring you to some stupid quantine place, take your passport, they make you stay in quarantine until you pay them 500 USD to get out and to get your passport back you gotta pay them another 500 USD. Someone emailed me the stories with pictures to prove it.
Is the scam ratio high ? they scam all people or just vietnamese people living oversea ? I think they just scam vietnamese oversea only, they not plan to scam real foreigner.
this is happaned long ago on passport, gifts...
the think I hate, why they dont scam the foreigners which are much richer then vietnamese living oversea. they just try to ripoff their own people.

Did anyone see the dates are different on the bluesheet? On the English section it says 25/8/09 but on the vietnamese translation it says 2/9/09. What's going on there? Can anyone explain?
look like they use the same form and put the date in but forget in vietnamese part, they send my wife a new sheet with correct date.
one more thing I have noticed that my sheet is green bot blue, I see couple sheets the blue usually have "we do not believe the relationship is husband/wife...", the green does not say that. mean the green sheet is more closed to pink.
any one have a clue about first requirement in my sheet ? it is very confusing, I used only income from my W2 and 1090G file jointly with my wife with her W7 attached.
I guess they see my tax return file jointly but did not realize that the second person in tax return is my wife so tyhey request I864A ?

What am I posting is not usefull ?
I make clear the different between saigon and hcm city.
you dont know any thing dont comment on my post
-
for timeline, etc? Everyone in Vietnam seem to prefer to use Saigon, but what about for paperwork. Also, what exactly is Saigon and Ho Chi Minh? Is Saigon just the central part or districts in the city? Is TP Ho Chi Minh all the districts? Can the two terms be used interchangeably?
In short, which one to use and when?
actually HCMC is SAIGON with an animal named Ho Chi Minh on it.
So dont call it HCMC if you are not VC

excellent haonie. I would do the same.
I will come to vietnam next week and submit the document myself see what the CO say.
hopefully pink at this time.
thanks haonie

your friend say very reasonal johncali9.
what you think if I will come with my wife on the day she resubmit the document ? I can get in the embasy with passpport.
how about I come there and submit the document instead of my wife ? because they did state who would submit it and the statement strait poit to petitioner.
any opinion are welcome.

On July 30, 2009, we mailed you a denial decision notice for this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). The notice explains why the denial decision was made and the options that may be available to you. If you have not received this notice within 15 days from July 30, 2009, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance.
********************************************************************************
**
Now I did file for a CR1 this was on my K1. I can think of 3 things this might say. 1. The petition has expired I can refile again. 2. The petition is invalid since I am now married and filed for a CR1. 3. We upheld the consulate denial your wife is banned for life 212.
Has anybody ever gotten this what should I expect? The wait of 15 days is a killer.
this is normal, I get the same email and denial letter for K1 visa, since I already send letter to cancel the K1 long time ago, my CR1 go throught and my wife get blue sheet.
no thing to worry about K1.
-
good luck, but I sure you will got blue for the first time.
those ###### consulers there like to give blue
-
Did the new blus slip just say there is additional processing, or did it say anything else? I hope that it is just reviewing and evaluating the information that she presented.
Good luck brother John.
here the blue slip my wife got it
John
did you write too much in your timeline ?
-
1- Do not hire any attorney, waste your money and times. I had Mc Ellis , ask me.
2- YOu only can help yourself by keep building your relationship , possible best is refile
I had him too. He was able to look right through my ex wife's lies and told me so. He has also helped quite a few people on here secure their visa's. Ellis is well worth a $100 consult fee, if nothing else.
who is Mc Ellis ? where he live ?
Marc Ellis is an immigration attorney who lives much of the time in HCM. He isn't there right now, though. He returned to the US a week or so ago. I'm not sure when he's going back, but you can send him an email.
I doubt there is any attorney who knows the US consulate in HCM better. No attorney can guarantee you'll get approved, but if I was having trouble with the HCM consulate I wouldn't trust anyone other than Marc to help.
I know there are many people who feel that having a child together is going to give them the best chances of getting approved in HCM, but I have serious doubts this is true. I've read a number of cases of people who've had kids together and still had their cases sent back to USCIS. Unfortunately, this process can take several months or several years, and it's even possible (though unlikely) that you might never succeed. Why would you want to risk being separated from your kids, or having your kids separated from their other parent for this long? If you want to have kids because you think it's the right time in your life to start a family, then go for it, but don't do it because you think it will help the immigration process. If it really did help, don't you think the fraudsters would also be willing to do this? Having a child doesn't prove a sincere relationship any more than any of the other evidence you present to them. It only proves you and your partner have had sex, which is probably true of more than 95% of the people who apply, both sincere relationships and frauds.
Thanks, I may give him a visit when I am in Vietnam

I would write a letter to address the red flag issues( a cover letter look like) then put timeline in a table with day on left and event on the right. get both noterized
So yu think the letter would help? I might do this along with the timeline.
I my case I write a letter to express that I don't need cosponsor and no I-864A is needed. and further focus to support the point in chronology like where we met why we get date and resion why we get marriage on first time visit and about a month of knowing each other.
I the time line I write very simple, just a table with 2 columns date on left and events on right each time separate by row.
I do a google search for chronology and look like the table is best fit, easy to write and easy to read.
any body have better idea ?

I am bumping this topic because no one has volunteered to pass along their timeline.
Brother John, if the CO said your timeline was the best, why not share it with others?
I did volunteer already.

Wow! Bit angry there NQT? I love VC, Uncle Ho and the current political system.
If it wasn't for all of them, I wouldn't be here in Philly, kicking back with a few beers and watching CNN on my 50" Plasma, in nice comfy leather couch and driving around in my choice of SUV or Lexus. If it wasn't for VC, the US wouldn't let millions of Viet people immigrate here and claim a piece of this American Dream (or nightmares as the current economic condition/market
)
So, I say: I love VC. (If you are VC, please be gentle to me when I come back to VN next year for Vacation)
and your father pay for several years in prision ( readucation camp) ? or your sister beeing rapped by sea-robber ? your grandfather properties beeing robbed by VC ?
now you enjoyed yourself

i'm trying to put it on and it says i'm not authorize. How do you attach the file?
On the bluesheet, they say we can turn it in early, is that true? Or do we have to wait til the 12th to turn everything in? As of the timeline, mine is thirteen pages and very detailed. She didn't get it back when they hand her the papers back. Should I revise the timeline again?
you can turn in early but they will review it later and mail you result. I would prefer turn in at appointment time so you can wait for result instantly

I'm venting, please let me know if I am overreacting.
My brother's PD is current in the F3 category. The I-864 and DS-230 has been submitted. The HCMC consulate gave him a verbal on an interview date at the end of October - he has not received written notice for the interview.
This is where I am getting frustrated. He forwarded the completed DS-230, birth certificates, marriage certificate and police reports. He was told to retain photocopies of all documents in case it was needed. Guess what? He didn't make a single copy and has now asked me to send him copies. #######????
He was also told to request 2 originals (or certified originals) of his marriage certificate, birth certificates for the family and police reports for the family. It was explained to him that one set would be submitted to the NVC and that he should retain the other for the interview in case the set submitted to the NVC ends up lost. Guess what? He said he didn't want to spend the money to request 2 sets. Now he wants me to send the original to him because he heard that he needs them for the interview. #######???? Is a $100 worth the aggravation if the NVC set is lost?
Do Vietnamese people just wing things? Do they think that US immigration laws and procedures should be flexible to the Vietnamese way of doing things or do they think that the whole world operates that way Vietnam does?
Years ago, my brother asked if we could bribe someone to make the system go faster for him. #######???? Is there anything I can do to prepare him for life in the US? Working within the parameters of the system is so much easier than having to fix "mistakes." He may know how to navigate the Vietnamese systems of doing things but I am afraid he will screw himself when he tries to apply the Vietnamese ways to life in the US.
Anyone else gets frustrated with their Vietnamese family doing or insisting on doing things the Vietnamese way when it comes to US immigration?
The current communist government is unaceptable,
you guys have to come back there and destroy them. #### vietcong

she got bluesheet. waiting for her to scan the bluesheet.
that is too bad, but dont be sad I am in same boat as you.

Did you include anyone else in the income calculation for the I-864? If only your income then line 23 should be $38000.
Did you list anyone on line 24b? Did you check the box on line 24d?
Did your income change drastically from 2008 to 2009? Will your 2009 income be similar to 2008? If they see current income (2009) much lower and closer to the minimum they want a co-sponsor. The way the blue slip reads I am thinking that your I-864 indicated there is a co/joint sponsor.
my manual income $38000 and will increase 2.75% each year according to union policy, my 2008 tax return is $24000 since I just get new job at middle of 2008. In tax return I only list my income and my wife have no income and filing as joint.
I dont check any box 24b or 24d.
yes, look like they want cosponsor. but why ? I got income last year of $24000, this year $38000 and next year $40000. they are so crazy.
what should I do ? add cosponsor and timeline or just write timeline and explain them that I dont need cosponsor ?
Are you K1 or CR1, K1 doesn't allow cosponsor in VN.
I file K1 couple year ago, and my wife failed the interview, my income low at that time.
now I file CR-1/IR-1 this time.
-
Actually the required amount is $18,212 for 2009. Be sure that you are using the most current information.
Did you have a lot of deductions to your income that would have shown line 22 on your 2008 form 1040 less than 18,212? That is the income number used, not the gross amount. If line 22 is too low, then a co/joint sponsor will be needed.
You filed for a CR1 spouse visa, correct? Your VJ listing shows that you as a K1 fiance visa petitioner and that is leading to confusion. The affidavit of support for K visa petitions is I-134, CR1 petitions require the I-864. Which is correct? Are you petitioning for a fiancee or a wife?
The timeline is now standard at HCMC. Don't take this step lightly. Your submission needs to be detailed with regard to how you met, when you met, who introduced you, your visits to VN, when you were engaged, married, etc. Be sure to address all the topics/events mentioned on the blue slip.
FYI - There is one member whose wife is interviewing in the morning that is submitting a 13 page timeline document. Check back tonight to see if it did the job.
I got deduction ( student loan interest) line 22 is $24,000, line 37 is $22,900.
I file for CR1 visa.
my wife hire someone (dich vu) in VIETNAM write a chronology( timeline ) cost her 250000vnd, I dont know if he know anything or not. He write like a letter, it is not look like chronology to me.
any one have good form of chronology for HCMC ?

I think I understand the income flag Roger..... He submitted proof of 08 income less than the required level... they dont care that he likely makes more now.. they are looking at over time and are requiring a co sponsor due to the shortfall in 08. IMO even though you likely will make 38000 this year.. they dont have IRS documentation of it happening before so are requiring the Co sponsor...
The timeline issue is easily resolved by doing a search in the Asia: East and Pacific (Except China) area of this te for 'timeline' there are a couple of great dicussions there that will address that issue.
look like you missed my last post, I made $24,000 for 2008. the required level is only $17,500.
