  1. You only need the parental consent and advice if the fiance is under 25.

I have a weird question to ask. Does this apply to my fiance to seeing as he's the one below the age of 25 and I, being the fiancee , am already 26? Or does it only apply to Filipina fiancee?

Reading CFO reviews like this make me worry. I don't have any IDs of them but I do have copies of their Form 1040, and my fiance's original birth certificate.

  2. Has anyone had any problems filling out DS-156? I've updated all my computer software and I still can't finish that form. sad.png

Its says error when I hit continue and then internal server error or something like that.

Yup. I had that problem. I was able to get it to work on Mozilla Firefox though.

Reminds me of the problems I had with forms. Whenever I print them at the office, the fields are blank. x.x Thankfully, I found a way to fix that annoying problem.

today i called the state department and found out my fiance has been issued an interview date in london on july 19th. looks like our august 31 wedding is a go! biggrin.png

Congrats Stuart & Katie! I'm happy for both of you! In all honesty, we don't have any wedding plans yet. I have been so caught up and being paranoid about the requirements, medical appointment (which thank god is done <3 ), the upcoming interview I set on the July 22, and the seminar required before leaving the country. x.x Now I fear the 3 months after stepping on US will be full of crazy planning.

I just read a thread about a form that we need to ask when we do the medical exam, ask for the DS-3025 form, we need it in the US for the adjustment status, if we don't have it then they will ask us to do another medical exam there.

Yup. The DS-3025 contains your vaccinations. They should give it once the medical exam is over. Mine took two days (two longest days of my life lol) and they handed it to me and told me they will be forwarding the results to the US Embassy, since they're not allowed to just hand over the results, even to the applicant.

  3. I second kumi ?

They asked my case number when i scheduled the medical exam today. And it is written in the email that we need it too for scheduling the interview.

Kumi, what did you write the embassy when you scheduled the interview besides your name and case number?

For Manila, I scheduled an appointment online and provided my personal and passport info as well. I did it on the ustraveldocs website.

  4. sorry for the silly question...

i got a case number from NVC (got our case today, yay progress!!!)... what do i do with this exactly? ahahhaha is it more for my own reference or is there something i can use to track?!

You might need that case number when scheduling for an interview, if the embassy doesn't do it for you. And it might be required from you when you go for the medical. I base this from experience since I had to provide the case number when I scheduled for the interview and medical exam, but your country's US Embassy might have a different need for it. :)

  5. Seeing that my fiance's dad employed him as he still waits to hear from his job applications, I have looked through the files his parents sent me.

    Fiance's parents:

    -1 Payslip May 2013 (mom)

    -Form 1040 (2012)
    -Form 8949 (2012)
    -Form 8863 (2012)
    -Form 8889 (2012)
    -Form 8917 (2012)
    -Form 8824 (2012)
    -Form 8829 (2012)
    -Form 4562 (2012)
--Bank Statement with Deposits (joint accounts)

    Fiance:

-1 Payslip (Last Payslip from previous employer) May 2013
    -Form 1040EZ (2012)
    -Bank Statements with Deposits
-Letter stating he has been employed by his dad in his dad's business with his rate per hour.
    -Business Certificate of Dad's business

    - His check payments from his dad's business which he'll bring with him once he takes his trip and accompanies me to the interview.

Will this be enough when the consul reviews our case during the interview or do we still need to fill up an I-864 to have her mom be a co-sponsor? I'm assuming since he's working for his dad, the embassy might want to see his dad's bank and business info.

  6. What I did with ours as I prepare for our interview next month, we have 7 pictures from his two trips, each with 1-2 short sentences describing the picture since they don't have time stamps, no skype/fb logs because if include them I'll have like 1k+ pages which I won't be able to handle so I made for it with cards and mailed letters from him and his family to me, and receipts of my gifts for him, his flight itineraries, and stamps on his passport.

  7. I don't want to get wed without my parents too but if our plan A doesn't work (which is to get my parents, grandma, and/or siblings tourist visa and attend the wedding) we will have a second wedding in the Philippines. Maybe you and your fiance could have something like that too.

  8. Is the guard stamp different from the stamp at the back of the receipt when you leave the clinic on day one. My receipt has a red stamp already and I was told to come back Monday at 7:15 for my immunization. Does it mean I will not go through sputum test anymore?

If anyone could answer this, I'd appreciate it. I want to know the answer too.

  9. I'll be having my medical exam tomorrow and I was wondering if having a recent Tetanus Toxide shot will be a problem? I hit my head on the jeepney roof as I was boarding it (I know, clumsy me) and I had a small nick. So, just to be on the safe side, I was given the shot. Will that be okay?

  10. I'm still busy with my work and this week is my last week of working before the time for me to resign. I'm planning to call the clinic and arrange the schedule, what form we need to take with us during the medical thing? And i hope next week the embassy will email me for the requirements they ask. What about the letter from the police? Are you going to prepare it? I'm planning to do it next week too.

I'm not sure if the requirements in my country are the same as yours but for me, I would need to bring: my passport, a photocopy of the passport bio, 3 pieces of 2x2 pictures, the appointment letter from the NVC (which I have just received today), photocopies of that document, my appointment letter of my interview schedule (just in case), and two copies of the online registration with my info.

As for the police clearance, I know I only need it if I lived out of my country for more than 6 months. And since I have only stayed within my country since I was born, I wouldn't need it. :)

  11. If I have to undergo the sputum test, I would be fine adjusting the interview to a week. Originally I was planning to have my med exam done on July 4-5, which would mean moving the interview date to September if I have to undergo the sputum test. So I was thinking of doing the med exam sometime next week and get the whole thing over with. The interview schedule appointment can be re-scheduled again at the ustraveldocs website right? Just as long I don't do it twice?

  12. Thanks for the response! I do have the letter from the company stating his position, effective date of employment, and salary. I also have his previous year's taxes and his bank statements. I guess the only thing lacking now is his paystubs. Thanks for the info!

As for the co-sponsorhip, I have his mom's bank statements and her tax info, and a I-134 for her. Though I'm still debating on asking them for a I-864 form. I'll do it your way too and only show it if the need arises.

  13. This is a kind of an update from my previous thread.

My fiance is still waiting to hear from some of his job applications, but due to the K1 petition, his dad employed him under his small business. My question is: Would we still need to have a co-sponsor and have a I-1864 form? Or will it suffice that he is currently employed for the meantime till he gets the job he's waiting on? And since he just started, does he still need to provide a Form 1040 and Form W-2s?
