I agree with you and I think Joy and Arthur are paternal brother and sister. They can't help it, it's hereditary!

This is my second LDR. This one is easier. I am applying for my fiance from India to come here. My first LDR was with a bf while he was in Afghanistan. Then while we were married he was in Iraq. My ex-husband was infantry. So at least I don't have to worry about my fiance's life being in danger. But this LDR is more difficult cause my fiance is a wreck without me. I not a wreck cause I don't have time to think...I have a full time job and a 4 year old son. But he is so far away...India...tickets are so expensive. I met him in the US when he was here on a student visa. Then I visited him on a tourist visa. After that trip I applied for the K1. I know I will be attending the interview with him. But tickets are ridiculous expensive. ugh...Lets not forget my biggest problem is my family. No one understands...I can't take it.

As a recovering alcoholic, I agree that she probably needs a 3 month in-patient treatment plan (in my case, I needed a couple of treatments before I finally "got it"). It's not something that can easily be "willed" away. Only she can make the decision to get help, and I hope that will be the case. Good luck bro.

That's so cute, you remind me of my husband saying Viva Colombia! with that gringo accent, love it!
I appreciate your prayers! I'll do the same for you to have a smooth NVC process and a prompt interview
    Viva America and Egypt too!!

OMG I do the same thing and they deserve and should know we appreciate them. I think the girls name tonight was Maritza and she was a doll and when I thanked her I could feel her blushing from the other side of the phone she thanked me and said you just call any time you feel like it that's what we are here for. Very sweet.

The guys who answer at night are the nicest ones !
Joy is the morning shift and wins the NASTY PANTS prize. Reese is also morning shift and is borderline nasty. Cindy was excellent this morning. Alan at night is great too !
I always thank the ones who are so nice ! I tell them I really appreciate it !

Oh I agree.... Can't wait to have him here so we can get on with our lives. We talk about how we just want the interview to be over so we can submit the waiver and only have that to wait for. All this craziness is just too much. I hope the waiver approvals pick up the pace. I really dread another 8 months wait.
I wonder how long it will take for them to give me the case complete.... I worry about the first AOS package and how fast the revision will get logged in.
I can't wait to tell my husband something good.
When we were waiting for the approval from the TSC, I imagined myself calling him and screaming that we were approved. What actually happened was we had a fight that night on the phone but it ended fine. We hung up and I was half asleep at 10:15 while watching TV. I keep my phone next to me in bed so I can hear the alarm in the morning. So I received 2 text messages at 10:15pm and I remember thinking " Who the hell is texting me this late?" I looked at my phone and saw the emails telling me to check my status. I fumbled to the website and saw our approvals. I called my husband back and I couldn't even talk. He said HELLO, I said HI, he said WHATS WRONG ? ( because I just hung up 15 minutes before) I couldn't even speak... I said very quietly.... We are approved.... He said WHAT?? I said We are approved.... he said... say it again, I need to make sure I heard you correctly... LOL
Then the next day when we talked, the first thing he said to me before Hello was, " say it again please, I wanna hear it again" so cute !
so here we are at NVC. I didn't expect to go this fast. ( knock on wood) but we waited 11 months and 6 days at the USCIS . I am happy to be moving along

I can't believe it. I'm on vacation visiting my husband and his family in Japan when I get this email from NVC. I thought maybe it was a checklist, but nope! It was an email to tell us that his interview is scheduled for next month in Tokyo!! I didn't even know our case was complete! We're both excited! Especially since we were together when we got this happy news!

AOS & IV package Docs are in the system @ NVC. Nothing received earlier today but I just called and he said they are entered... I told him about the corrected AOS. He said they will review whatever docs come in first. I'll probably get a checklist but they will review the second package and update it. I thanked Alan for being so nice. I told him the men who answer the phones are much nicer than the women over there. He laughed and said no comment !!

CASE COMPLETE!! Just called for an update and Rick said "Well, today's your lucky day! We finished reviewing your documents today and you have a case complete!" I was so ecstatic I didn't even ask about interviews in Dakar but will call back to do so tomorrow. Alhamdulilaahi!
Thanks everyone for your help, especially Saylin!
A few things for people who might be curious. We had no checklists, but lots of places where we thought we'd have problems:
-for the IV package, we sent in copies of the marriage translation and copies of the marriage certification (instead of originals with the bright red stamp) and we got no checklist, so maybe copies for translations are okay?
-The joint sponsor only gave last years taxes, and no proof of employment.
-The AOS forms of myself and the joint sponsor were full of blanks. I pretty much followed that example on VJ that has a bunch of blanks and had no problems.
-as a USC living abroad with only foreign-based income, I wrote my current income as 0, wrote a letter explaining it and sent no employment letter.
-The DS260 was full of strange addresses due to lack of street names, etc and we had no problems
...so whether we were a case that happened to squeeze by with errors or it's just NVC doesn't care, we don't know, but for anyone stressing over little errors, you might make it!
    Good luck everyone!

As believers we start each day in prayer.
As our soul becomes quiet our spirit is released.
We are lifted above the earthly carnal realm.
Our heart is then filled with vision, hope and expectancy
that God's unseen hand is at work in our life circumstance.
Stir up that gift that is within you each morning.

Just talked to Yvette...she informed me that they are still scheduling May interviews and that there is no set cutoff date for the interviews, but it depends on each embassy and their capacity. Sooo while we have no update on our case today, I am at least pleased to know that if the embassy is less busy than others, we could fit in for an interview in May.

I think photos of the kitchen sink is the only thing missing from this Awesome list
I shed a few tears when I read the final line "With my heartfelt intention of being reunited with my wife"
Andrewleen29...you have done an amazing amount of work and preparation that will help down the road.
The reality of what you are about to face is best summed up by a quote from the blog of bdrew612
" I’m not quite sure what we paid $420 for USCIS to do. It seems like our petition collected dust for 6 months
and now it gets moved to another department where we get to repeat the process. Don’t get me wrong,
I’m happy we’ve moved on to this stage, but after the nightmare of USCIS, I’m incredibly burnt out.
I can see a dim light at the end of the tunnel – it’s there, but it’s still out of reach."

ok, first off.. we all want to be with our spouses ( yesterday) but sending in documents that they haven't asked for yet is wasting EVERYONE'S time. You will not streamline anything. The NVC will request everything again and you will have to scramble to get all originals again. USCIS is notorious for misplacing things. They love to give nonsense RFE's for nothing. Submit what is required for each step. NEVER send originals with your USCIS package. Save those for the NVC. Follow a thread for the month you filed and track everyone's progress. That will help pass the time and maybe give you an idea of where you stand. Create a timeline and a signature . That helps everyone else too. Always have it in the back of your mind that the USCIS lies. Everything I read on here was pretty much dead on. Most everything USCIS told me was a bunch of #######.
There is no short cut unless you expedite your case .

Ummm.. why in the world is she telling you that you need your divorce decree?! That was supposed to be included with your I-130 not your husband's IV package. All of the paperwork pertains to him and nothing to you. If your husband is divorced, then he will need his divorce decree. Not your own.
It will be a good idea for him to have a certified copy of your divorce decree with him at his interview, but it does not have to be included in the IV package.
