Do they think we sit around with our heads up our butts? Why wouldn't we check the CEAC?? They make no sense.... Unless you are actually going through this immigration nightmare, you have no idea how heartbreaking it is not knowing how long it will take and when it will come to an end... they just answer the phones. My lawyer thinks its ok to just let the NVC or UCSIC do their job. He doesn' t call for updates. I wonder if other people ( non-VJers) call like we do? do they sit and wait for emails from the NVC?? That would suck !

Be sure to send a W2 even if you send transcripts, so that it's clear what portion of the joint tax filing was by your joint sponsor. I'm certain I've seen that clearly stated here on VJ somewhere.

So I got approved at the London Embassy this morning! The interview went flawlessy and I'm delighted! I'd like to thank everyone on here who has been a help, especially Nich-Nick on the London side and all my fellow I-130 posters on here who shared empathy and support, you know who you are. Last but not least some of you are aware that my wife is the amazing BOS-LHR and I'd like to thank you for all the support and preparing an amazing petition with no RFE's or checklists. It's been a long 11 months!

The interview scheduling isn't dependent on the medical for spousal visa filers. Your interview will be scheduled in the next round of scheduling after your case complete whether the medical has been done or not.
London advises that you wait until your case has arrived at the embassy before having your medical, because Knightsbridge will send your results directly to the embassy and it's best your file is already there to match the medical documents up with. That's not a hard and fast rule, I've seen a number of other UK filers have medicals prior to interview being scheduled, but we personally waited until receiving our interview notice before booking the medical.
I would advise against scheduling your medical this soon in the process, because it has a limited validity to it. You want the results to still be valid at your interview, and if you're delayed by checklists etc., they may not be. The amount of time you have to go through POE is also based on when your medical results were obtained, so if you can't travel immediately after receiving your passport back, that's all the more reason to wait to schedule the medical

I got my 2013 transcript online, but I also filed relatively early, in February. My transcript was available in March. It may be that they're processing the huge rush of returns that get submitted around the April 15 deadline and are just telling everyone that transcripts won't be available for a while.
I submitted the I-864EZ with transcripts for all three years because they were easy to get, but if you can't get a copy of yours for 2013 yet, you'll need to supply the full tax return with all schedules W2s, and 1099s. Unfortunately the supporting documentation for 2013 isn't optional now we've passed the tax deadline Gotta have docs for at least that year.

Yup, you'll have to list the past three years of income on the I-864 and provide documentation for at least the most recent year. You can send along more documentation if you want, and honestly, I don't think I've seen anyone send the bare minimum for the AOS. Especially now that tax return transcripts are so easy to get online.

I've been thinking this as I followed this thread lately, too. There's so much negativity here recently and much of it comes from obsessive phone calls with long wait times and less-than-charming operators. I don't personally understand why multiple calls per day is a good use of time, simply because knowing a status for example 6 hours sooner than you might've won't make any difference to your case processing. Obviously it's a personal decision, but I feel bad for everyone involved -- both on our end and NVC's. This isn't pleasant for anyone.
I know NVC is staffed by call center personnel who are paid to provide customer service, but they aren't government employees. I can't imagine they have rock star salaries and they probably get treated like garbage all day. Hasn't anyone on this thread worked in customer service? Even if the job tasks are easy, it's challenging dealing with people all day. It's exhausting and frustrating. They're humans and imperfect just like the rest of us. They're also not responsible for the case processing decisions (i.e., reviews and checklists) driving everyone insane. I've spoken to all the operators who have been named here and have never had a bad experience, so to see them essentially being bullied in absentia is a little unsettling. I kind of wish I'd had a bad experience at some point just so I could know where all the negative comments have come from. They're paid to do their jobs to certain expectations, yes, but I personally feel a responsibility to be a good customer to the people serving me. I've never felt someone being nasty to me was justification for being unpleasant in return, though I'm keenly aware that others will feel differently. Perhaps if folks made fewer superfluous phone calls, the operators would be less overwhelmed, their quality of life would improve, they would be happier while serving their customers, and hold times would go down.
I know VJ is an awesome place to vent and commiserate. I'm really thankful for that, and that's why I hesitated to volunteer my own unpopular opinion above. I just wanted to maybe add some perspective, because I feel things have become a bit more hostile than usual. I really wish all the best for everyone waiting here. I know the hell we've all gone through and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I hope all of you get the news you're waiting for soon.
