I am glad I found this thread. I actually found this while waiting on the phone with the IRS. The rep explained that the 1722 was used awhile back to show that taxes were NOT filed (not sure why someone would need this, but I am sure there is a reason) anyway, the immigration officer will only need ORIGINAL transcripts. I have always had them faxes so I asked the IRS Rep to send me the original through the mail.
Wonder why USCIS hasn't updated this information. Clearly agencies do not communicate with each other.

My interview letter arrived today - couple of questions:
1. Are certified copies of birth certificates of children - does this mean a notarized copy of the birth certificate(s)?
2. Should my spouse accompany me at the interview? I am thinking it is important.
3. An original IRS form 1722. We have faxed copies from the IRS, do you think that counts as the originals?
4. My spouses birth certificate is from the county - is that acceptable? Probably doesn't hurt to order one from the state.

Absolutely wait for the notice in the mail, then make the infopass (if needed) the notice in the mail may be a little clearer on what is going on and will probably give you further instructions than what you read in your email.
I wish you the best with this, hopefully just a misunderstanding.

Hi evryone,
I just came back from school this afternoon, opened my mail box, and voila my interview latter was in the mail box. I"m so happy today even though I have a month and half to wait. At least I have the letter that's all I care about. It's scheduled for 06/15/2009
Good luck to everyone else out there who is waiting for the letter. I know how you feel. Just hang in there it will come.

I was expecting my interview letter to arrive almost 2 weeks ago...when will it arrive?

I know I am over anxious to get my interview letter, but I have done the calculation with some other VJ members timelines and notice that my interview letter should have been here on Tuesday. Today is Thursday and it still hasn't arrived. I am sure it will be here any day. My anniversary date is 5/18...my timeline isn't complete, but my signature is up to date.
When should I officially be worried?

I already have biometrics, waiting on my interview date. However, my online status hasn't changed from the initial application that was received.

Yes 2 ways for child to obtain citizenship, if child is in the USA as an immigrant, the child will become a citizen when you become a citizen, OR US Citizen Step Parent can Adopt the child, and the child will get citizenship through adoption. In either case an N-600 will be filed for child's citizenship papers.
Note: If step parent adopts child BEFORE removal of conditions, this eliminates having to pay extra for the child's removal of conditions.
Do you need to file for an N-600 if you plan on obtaining a US passport for your minor?

When do biometrics expire? I have heard 15 months, 18 months, & 1 year.

Just wondering if anyone has ever rescheduled their Naturalization interview date? If so, what happened, did you have to wait another 4-6 months?

I forget what touched means. I think it only applies to the online section?

I see that a lot of people simply walk in and have their bio's done, some even receive an appointment letter and go early and most of the time they seem to allow this. How can I do this too...I don't think I will receive a bio appt since it has only been 12 months since my last bio...can I simply walk in with my passport and most recent NOA which is just the receipt NOA?

It may not matter. I like to follow the instructions very closely, so if it were me I would have somehow found a pencil.
I am sure there is a specific reason for wanting pencil and not ink though - cross your fingers if you already sent it.

I hope someone else has experienced this before. I will be in the same situation if this is true. I had my Bio last March...it seems it will also be valid, but by the time the interview comes around the bio will be close to if not expired.
I guess an infopass or a phone call to the call center would be the best option?

Hi,
In the past when I filed an application the case number would always be written on the back of the check. For the N-400 I do not see our case number on the front or back of the check. Is this normal? Are you able to view the N-400 case status online just like other cases?

I plan to take copies/originals of the entire N-400 I sent in initially along with updated bank statements. Can someone who has been to the interview let me know if I should take anything else?
