  1. Hello Everyone,

I currently have a full time job, but it just isn't enough right now. We are struggling to make ends meet. It would be nice if we just had $200 extra a month coming in. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make an extra $200 a month?

Thanks in advance for sharing your comments...

  2. Thanks for the answer...That's kind of nice they keep everything together in one large file. We definitely make copies of everything we send in, actually I am kind of crazy about it. Which is what is bothering me about the medical. The medical you give them in a sealed envelope, in our case at the airport, I think at the initial interview too..we never see what is inside, at least we didn't, therefore, we never got copies of the things that are in there. Any comments about this?

    Thanks.

  3. Hello,

For the K3 visa when going through customs, we handed the immigration officer the manila envelope which was sealed. They took it and didn't return anything to us. I very much assume that is normal? But my question is about the I693 supplement, isn't that what was contained in the envelope? If so, doesn't the information in that envelope make it back to the AOS case? Or does it just stay with the I-129 case? At the AOS interview, does the immigration officer have everything from the I-129, 1-130 and I-485 cases? If so, that would be great, but I am not sure.

Thanks for your insight to this.

  4. I hate hearing things like this. Does anyone have any idea why they would ask for a new medical, if the old one hasn't expired? Is it possible the Dr. didn't date the form, forgot to sign, missed a box, etc. I have no idea, but that makes me sick when they do things like that to people. It cost a lot of money to bring your loved ones over to the US. I think they should assign your case to one person in the us and one person from the country you are migrating from, from the beginning to the end (is there an end by the way). That way this person in the US, can look at your case from beginning to end, and see your progress from 129, 130, 485, EAD, etc, etc.

If they deny your case because of the medical, which clearly passed at the K process, why would they deny without appeal in the AOS stage? This doesn't make since, and I hope someone can post a good reason for them doing this.

    :protest:

  5. Our interview is coming up soon. I just want to make sure I am getting things ready correctly. The NOA states to bring an I-864 unless already submitted. It was already submitted. However, it seems everyone talks about them always asking if your job has changed etc. I guess I should fill it out to be safe? They really should not put "unless already submitted" if they plan on asking to know about updated employment. If someone has changed a job, then of course they will want an updated one?

The g-325a. Is it neccesarry to bring this? Again its the same story, they don't ask for it, but if the information changes on it, they will want a new one?

They ask for "all documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident Status." Doesn't this mean Marriage Certificate, etc.? If so, they ask for this stuff in other lines. Why would they repeat the same thing?

  6. Just wanted to get some advice about children. I would imagine quite a few couples on this site have had this experience, so just wanted som advice, wisdom, or just general story telling. My wife and I are going to have a baby this summer. What is it like having an interracial baby? Is it complicated to teach the baby two languages? Is it okay to speak to the baby in two different languages, and frequently changing from English to Spanish. Example: Say the baby can't sleep one night. I get up to comfort the baby, I will be speaking english, such as "whats the matter" "Are you hungry" blah blah, (not sure if this is what I will say) :P However, when my wife gets up she will be speaking in spanish. As the baby grows, will she be able to decifer between the two. Or will she be saying sentences like. "Yo quiero play outside" lol. Okay, writing, this I am pretty much answering my own questions. But your real life experiences is what I am looking to hear about.

Note: Moderator I imagine you will move this post, I simply posted in this forum because it is where I spend most of my time.

  7. Hi,

First of all, please forgive me if I am posting in the incorrect forum. My question is about a USA Passport. The passport is set to expire in just under a year. I have a couple of Visa's to other contries in the passport, I know they are supposed to send the original passport back, but what happens if they lose it? What is the best way to renew a US Passport in this case?

    Anyone with similar situation?

    Thanks...

  8. Hi,

We are getting things ready for the AOS interview. They say we don't need to bring in another I-834 Affadavit of support, or medical if we already submitted it, which we did with the I-129. It has been less than a year. Also we filed the I-834 with the AOS application. So that is very updated. However, I now have the newest Taxes, which I will take with me. I will also take updated paystubs. I guess my main question is should I take an updated I-834 Affadavit of Support. It seems not neccessary, but I hate that they are never clear about anything until they actually speak to you one on one. If you have been to an interview, please let me know how it works. Also, I noticed some people report their entire interview process online, if you have links to those, please past those in a reply as well.

    Thanks so much.

  9. RE: I-864

Concerning the affadavit of support. The letter says to bring the I-864 unless already submitted. Many recommend bring this again. I am wondering if I should redo the whole process, the form, notarized, letter from employer, taxes, etc.

I realize the W2's and taxes and employer letter may be a good idea..just in case, but I am wonderin about getting it notarized again.

    Thanks.

  10. Hi,

Just got our AOS Interview. Can you please give me some examples of what they are looking for with the following statements under the "You Must Bring the Following Items with You"

    1. "All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status."

    2. Original and copy of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise, we may keep the originals for our records."

  11. Hi,

Prenote: I am a US Citizen, my wife is not. We were married before applying for any type of visa.

On the I-129, I-130 and I-485 I wrote my wife's family name as her maiden name. In the "other names used" I wrote my last name, her married name. I should have did this in reverse. I should have wrote her family name as my last name (the Husband) and her maiden name in the other names used... Yeah, real smart I know...

Anyway, I was wondering if this can be fixed. Or would it take 8 extra months just to process the paperwork? What do I need to do to fix this? Now all of her legal documents in the US, ie social security card, etc. have to be done with her maiden last name?

Thanks for your help in advance.

  12. Well, we just took our biometrics and our now awaiting the AOS interview. I just had some question that hopefully can be answered here.

    1) We our wondering about last names? On my wife's passport she has been using her maiden name for everything, but we filed for the K3 visa, once we received it, we our now waiting for the AOS interview. Our they going to give her a US VISA and green card in her maiden name still? Or can she take her married name?

    2) We currently have the same address we have had throughout the entire visa process, we were thinking about moving to an apartment. Does changing addresses slow down the process?

Thanks for your time and help.
