nope~~ i called them again yesterday 3 times they keep telling me you have to wait 15 days !! if i wont get it in 15 days call them back!! soooo mad

you know what guys, i noticed there is a LOT OF AUGUST fillers got RFE... i mean a LOT!! every other one posting on here that thay got RFE!!

We received an email notification on Jan 24 saying that an RFE notice was sent to us. 10 days later we still didn't see anything in the mail and I started to panic. Believe me, I never had any trouble with the post office although a lot of people here are not happy with them.

So I called the Service Center. I was told they could not disclose any info until after 15 days if I still didn't have the mail.

So I waited patiently and called again on the 15th day. The guy said he would request the RFE notice to be sent again, He also told me I couldn't contact the Service Center until 15 days had passed if I still didn't receive the second notice and all this waiting time wouldn't change the response due date for the original RFE.

I asked what was requested in the notice so I could prepare the document and was told I had to wait for the notice.

I asked normally how long the RFE gave the applicant to respond and was told it was case by case.

To make things more complicated, he was nice enough to transfer me to the higher level. 45 minites waiting on the phone finally I got to talk to a guy God knows where he came from. His English was so awful I could hardly understood what he was saying. Well, he said the system showed there had never been an RFE sent to me! when I asked how come I got an email notification and his ID number for my reference (I asked very politely), he started yelling at me that he was an officer, not a contractor ,and he didn't have an ID. Then he hung up on me. I've never talked to anyone in the US, even government officials, who was that rude!!!

So now I'm confused more than ever. I can see online in the case status that my case is pending on further evidence. And it's almost 4 weeks and we still don't see anything in the mail.

Does anyone know hong long they typically give the applicants to respond to the RFE, 30 days, 60 days? If it is 30, then in a couple of days it will be 30 days in my case. Will they just reject my application? What do I do then? It is not our fault. we cannot send them anything if no one tells us what they are asking for. My stomach just turns every day after I check the mailbox and I just want to cry.

omg i am so scared now!! i feel like thats what happening to me right now!! they sent me email saying that they sent me RFE on the 8th of february and i still didn't get it!!

she said they probably updated your status on the 8th and sent the hard copy on the 12th thats why i got two emails!!! STAY STRONG

I agree. This is actually good news in a weird sort of way. As far as turning the RFE around, our timeline was like this.

1. RFE notice on the USCIS site - Tuesday, Oct 9

2. Received hard copy (which you must have for your reply) - Friday, Oct 12

3. Mailed reply with requested evidence - Monday, Oct 15

4. NOA2 notification on USCIS site - Friday, Oct 19

Since we had a weekend to assemble the response, it worked out pretty well. Only 8 business days from RFE to NOA2.

PS: Don't forget to include the BLUE cover page with your response.

@Misha & Jeff you got a letter in the mail in like 3 business days... i am waiting 8 days already and still didn't get a hard copy of a letter! should i start worry bout it!!

I received another RFE today in my email. I received the first one on Feb. 14, 2013. Does this mean that they are asking more or just a duplicate mail. Anybody here has the same experience?.. Thanks

they send me one on february 8th and then another one on the 12th of february!! i called them today to see why i still didn't get a letter from them and i asked them how come i got two emails in two different days she said i dont know!! follow the latest one!!

Okay the title of your topic is confusing. It sounds like you got the RFE in august 2012.

You need to wait till you get the RFE in the mail, it should be in about 2 weeks.

You wont be denied just because you got an RFE - thats the point of getting an RFE, they are giving you time to give them what they need so they can continue with your files.

As I said an RFE can be anything, they might want more evidence or maybe you forgot to sign something. Just have to wait and see.

A set back from an RFE can be a few weeks to a month usually. But it also depends on how quickly you can reply to them with what they want/need.

dont be upset you are not the only one who got RFE// there are a lot off people who got RFE including us!! i got RFE on february 12th and waiting for the letter to see what they need!! just be patience you will be fine!

Recently got NOA2 and was reading on next steps. Seems like while I can start getting a few things together it will now be up to State and the embassy in her home country to reach out to her for the next steps in the process. I was curious how will they initiate this? Will they call her or just send her something in the mail? There have been problems before with the mail system in her country so was wondering, thanks.

i totaly agree with you! that there are problems with a mail!! my friend told me she was waiting for 2 months and there was nothing in the mail so she called them and say said their mail didnt work so they couldn't send her information!! i would suggest you to call them every two weeks!!

Isn't form I-134 submitted during the interview stage?

No, it means you signed up for email alerts in a faulty system. Wait until you get the RFE on the mail. There will be only one. Turn off the email alerts. They are useless except to increase stress levels

i got the same thing on february 8th... so you are not alone!! we just have to wait and see what they want... but the good thing they looked at our case so after we will send them what they need we will be approve in couple weeks... hang on there!!

Hopefully your RFE is on something minor like mine. After I submitted it, I was approved within a few weeks.

Now thats getting tough to remember exactly, but I think it was about a week until the letter showed up. What I do clearly remember, is it felt like forever waiting for the letter.

i know!! thats what i feel like but it is been only 5 hrs since i got txt message!! lol

It was hard to tell actually. While some get clearly worded RFE's, our's was just copy and pasted rules sections, with no explanation of the deficiency. One part was the rule requiring the letter of intent, we included original signed letters of intent, but we sent new ones where they were signed in a different color than the printed color. The originals were printed and signed in black ink. Another was the rules section on having met in the previous two years of filing and of having a valid relationship. I had sent what I thought was plenty of proof of the previous two visits. This is were I really went to town in the RFE and added a lot more proof and a decent length letter detailing how long I had know her. It was about 8 years at that point. Third was proof of my citizenship. I had a sent a copy of my birth certificate, and a copy of the bio page from my passport. Resent a copy of every page of my passport and sent an original birth certificate. Two of the areas it appeared I had sent enough, but a helpful and nice tier 2 customer service rep told me sometimes they loose things and to resend everything I sent before plus more, since there was no way to be sure they had not lost something, or maybe they wanted more proof. It was the relationship and meeting section of the RFE reply that made my wife's interview a breeze. The IO just made nice comments to my wife about things in the file and every time she asked if he'd like a copy of something, he'd say I already have it There were no tough questions, just things like what do you plan to do in the USA, and you've really known your fiancé a long time. She was so worried before hand to, for what went very very easy, but that was a good thing.

i received a txt message today .. when should i receive a hard cope of a letter?? any ideas how long it takes?
