Wife will need a pdf or jpg of it to upload if you’re filing online or print if you’re mailing in. MIL should have original available at interview time. 
 
make sure to watch the size on the pdf or jpg. I think the upload limit for s 2MB per document.

she is a very strong woman who has a hard life and we want to take care of her. I don’t think she will stay with us all the time, maybe going back and forth from time to time (every few years stay in PI for a few months etc) but we will watch that closely to ensure it keeps her within guidelines for her status.

When asked they must admit to it and it they don't then later even if not via some medical card data breach admission in another place of having done it could lead to removal and being stripped of citizenship.  Never lie during the process. 

Approved June 24th. waiting for NVC to give the new case# also.
driving me crazy. how can it take 8 weeks ( what they say) to send some paper to another office to scan it.

Only the DS-156 needs a barcode.
the other DS forms in the fiance process are regular PDFs and do not require a barcode.
