  1. is this a link for me and the beneficiary?

cause its actually for my fiance and his daughter...they are the beneficiaries.

Her mother kept most of the paperwork for their daughter and we are trying to be ahead of the game by having DNA completed for him and his daughter in case they may say that she's not his daughter.

  2. My fiance is worried that he does not have enough support to claim that his daughter is his so i suggested he go ahead and do a DNA test to verify that she is and if they have any issues at the interview about it he can show them the paperwork.

I know that they are iffy about where you get that done and was wondering if anyone knows of a place he can go that is acceptable by the consulate?

  3. This is a mess for me. I lived in several places during college and do not remember every single roommate, though I remember one from each house. Luckily I remember all of the addresses, except for one place I only lived for 6 months.

I lived in Orlando for a 7 month period in 2004 when I was on internship...

but my residential was still listed at my parents house in Louisiana...

Would I need to list that if it's requested from me???? All these ifs, ands, and buts....smh

Sometimes I get so confused! blah

  4. I have not seen my boyfriend since November 25. I spent a week with him then. I was used to seeing him every moth or month and a half or so, so this 2 months that I have not seen him has been very hard! All we can do is talk on the phone every night and wait for the next time we can see eachother . ?

I last saw my hubby to be November 24 at 5AM :(

At least you get to talk everyday...My hubby to be is so busy he barely has time to talk to me.

    I feel neglected sometimes...but I just wait...still...

    Who knows.

Im actually keeping busy with work and gym. Also I'm going back to see my fiancé for the 5th time in less then a year. Even though I sent the in in December. I plan on seeing her while I wait and make the time fly. What would happen if the fiancée is pregnant in the process. csn I use that as evidence jejje of a relationship Even though she is a child hood friend we always talked. But some how last year the day after valentine we spent a lot of time ever since then.

Worst case scenario: they may hold her until the baby comes to prove that you are the father with DNA...not sure how they handle it if the baby still in the womb and DNA is requested...but that's worst case scenario...

I'm the petitioner and a lot of people kept asking me if I was preggo...like that would bring him here sooner if I was :/

  5. Ya I know! Times gonna go by not too slow! Until we hit 5 and 6 months..then well see how we feel haha..

I've been keeping sane facebooking and pinteresting and school and work...

of course my 4 year old is running around lots too...

the 5-6 month mark hopefully i'll be too busy to realize my fiance is not even here with me! bwhahahaha

    a girl can dream....lol

  6. Hello,

Thank you all for answering my questions. You guys are great helpers! :)

BTW, I have a good news to announce! My fiancee just got her visa approved today after turning those requested papers! Look like they accepted co-sponsor (my parents) in my case! I am going to Vietnam on February 11th, 2013 to prepare for our wedding ceremony and party, then she is going back to the U.S. with me in April!

    Congrats!!

  7. The interview is about the same, but how they look at things and much of the paperwork is different...

flights are not cheap and children are priority aren't they?

yep yep! but once shes in school im free!!! well not really but my family will be able to proxy for me while i go bring her stepdad and stepsister home :D

My stepdaughter will be 8 when time comes for her to interview. Does anyone know if she is required to go to the interview???

  8. from my understanding there's no "paperwork trail" for work in Vietnam...

He's really been at home with his mom and taking care of his daughter for the past 5 years...hence on the g-325a it has no employment history.

prior to the 5 years he had been working at an aluminum company....he was there for 5 years.

So...not sure if that will hinder anything but I believe that it requests for that on one of the DS forms....if i remember correctly.

  9. Thank you for the support from VJ! My wife's interview date has been schedule for the end of March.

As excited as we are about the date, many questions loomed into our mind about the interview. First of all, is it necessary for her to have all the original documents/evidence (such as receipts, bills for weddings and occassion)? We are thinking about having those documents sent back to VN before interview, but we dont want to lose those documents. We want to send it only if necessary.

Then we thought about the question of whether I (the petitioner) should be there for the interview. I want to be there, but that week school is still in session. How important it is for me to be there at the interview? Would it help speed up the visa approval process?

Congrats!!! Do you plan on going to get your wife and bring her back? If you wait it could be better to bring her back than be there for the interview.

Best of luck to you! How long ago did you receive NOA2?

  10. This is a tactic they use to give them time to make a decision or do additional work on the case. A way to drag things out and put a hurdle in front of you. It does not happen that often anymore, but it is best to have it done in case they request it. Better off being prepared... All too often in the past they would issue a blue slip asking for something and would not take it even if you had it in hand.. thus the idea that it is a stall tactic.

I plan on sending one with my fiance.

I'm lucky...My permanent resident was one location. yay!

now my employment...I need to see if I can remember all that -_-

  11. At the first interview that we got a Blue Slip. Nhung thought it was her fault and I told her no way. The information they requested just said how good she did in the interview.

These are some of the questions they asked her in the first interview:

    Explain how we met

    Who introduced us?

Why do you choose fiancé paper work?

    When did we meet?

What does fiancé do for a job?

    How do we talk?

    What do we talk about?

How many times does your fiancé come to VN?

What does your fiancé do for a job?

    Explain his job

How many children do we have?

What do you think about your fiancé?

Why do you choose to marry your fiancé?

When she got the Blue Slip they ask for more documentation.

They want me to provide were I have lived for the past 10 years (already did that) and who lives with me now and who has lived in the same house during the 10 year period. It has to be notarized

They ask Nhung to provide the same information. (and it has to be notarized)

They ask whom did we meet through and did that person get paid. They ask for notarized statement from that person also.

They ask for notarized timeline that was provided in original documentation submitted at the first interview.

The second interview Nhung gave them the documentation they requested and waited until about 1 1/2 hours for them to call her and tell her visa was approved. They do not ask her any questions this time.

She did say today she saw a lot of people getting blue slips. :o

I did not attend either interview as I am still in the US. I will fly to HCM on the 8th of next month.

My friend's wife interview is the 1st of February for the second time as they received a Blue Slip the first time also.

If anyone has any questions please ask me and I will try and help.

Thank you everyone again. This website is awesome!

    Bob

    First off, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Second...how long did you have to wait from first interview to second?

I thought blue = RFE and that means you just turn it in...you have to wait to turn it in???

  12. On our Blue Slip they asked me to list my current residence with all the phone numbers- from our Blue Slip dated 01/03/2013:

PETITIONER: In an original signed, notarized statement, please list your current residential address and telephone numbers (home landline number, work, and cell). Include all residences for the past ten years, beginning and end date of the time period at each residence, and the full name and date of birth of each person residing with you at each address, along with a description of your relationship with the person ("cousin, spouse" etc.) NOTE: ALL SWORN, NOTARIZED STATEMENTS MUST BE IN ENGLISH

They also required the same from the Beneficiary.

Hope this helps with understanding what they are looking for.

And today - 01/31/2013 the visa was approved!

    Bob

what happens if you dont know their birthdate?? unknown?

any reason to why they wanted you to list the residency??? im still baffled about that...

    btw...congrats on the visa :D

  13. I'm in the same boat if whether or not to attend the interview.

My fiance says that he would rather have me there to bring him home.

He's afraid that the paperwork he has wont be sufficient for his daughter to go with him and if I come over for interview and he doesn't get the pink then it's a wasted trip.

It would be difficult for me to be there for interview and then leave and come back if he doesn't get the pink slip.

Not only that but it's projected possibly he'll be getting ready for interview in the fall...my daughter is going to start school then and I will need to be available for the teachers and stuff. Time constraints and money is a huge factor.

of course im doing k-1 visa...not sure if the interview goes the same way for both k-1 and ir-1/cr-1 visas...

  14. Ugh I really hope not..me and my fiancé aren't doing so good, it's been so hard for some reason :( I guess after seeing someone for 2 years straight its so strange to be apart! Haha, gosh I'm scared now...

Same here...or rather it may just be me. I don't know.

It sucks that we are so far away...since he's in Vietnam and I'm in Louisiana, our times are opposite. Morning here...evening there.

Actually there's only a 6-7 hour window for us to talk with one another...that's IF I stay up late into the early hours of the morning.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one putting forth effort into this relationship...smh
