  1. Yes seriously, the US consul in Montreal QC has been on, uses and knows about VJ. Its quite funny!

And yep to the facebook thing! There have been quite a few posts where the consul has showed people printouts ( that were not included in the petition/evidence ) or the actual FB page belonging to the petitioner or beneficiary. And asked questions about things showing on the page.

so if there something we dont want others to see we should delete it?

isnt that a breach of privacy?

  2. A late December filer. Filed on 12/24/12. Received my NOA1 on the 12/28/12. Pretty fast. Still in "Initial Reveiw" mode. California Service Center is the worst. They are moving extremely slow. Expected wait time is 7-8 months for NOA2. Hoping to receive my NOA2 in July or August, though. Wishful thinking, I guess.

hey, 7-8 months is not so bad. it's less than a year. Gotta look at the brightside of things :D

  3. Okay, I got your point. However, I don't know whether they would require DNA test or not. I can tell your family that the DNA cost in Vietnam is around 7,000,000 VND (3 years ago).

The CO might ask your stepchild some questions.

    Be prepared and Good luck!

She's 8 years old. I've heard stories to and from in regards to asking her questions...

she and I dont talk often since my fiance is away from the house majority of the day.

We don't know if they require it either, but we just wanna make sure all T's are crossed and all i's are dotted...so we want to have that as a backup.

It's just a precaution that we have the bloodwork done for my fiance and stepdaughter.

  4. mine was approved on Jan 18.

Interview letter received on Mar 5.

    Interview on Apr 25.

how long after you received NOA2 that you turned in the form requested for K1 applicants?

  5. As far as I know, the DNA test will take place at US Consulate.

"My fiance and his daughter want to go and get their bloodwork done and they don't want to just go anywhere."

I don't think it'd work. The CO might not believe that kind of proof. They want your finance and daughter to take the DNA test at their pointed places.

My father and I have taken the DNA test at "Benh Vien Truyen Mau Huyet Hoc Trung Uong", which is the famous one about DNA testing in Vietnam. When the CO looked our DNA test, they said "Is this DNA result pointed by USCIS? If not, it is invalid to us. You must take the DNA test in standard of AABB."

So they have different places for bloodwork?

My fiance and future stepdaughter are both in VN. We just need proof of bloodwork to show that she is his daughter and that she's not just some random kid.

My fiance doesnt have many pictures of the two of them together as she was growing up, so we want to get the bloodwork done.

  6. Today, IOM just informed my DNA testing appointment by phone, it will be on May 22nd.

US Consulate at HCM only take DNA tesing every Wednesday afternoon.

They do DNA testing at the US Consulate?

Or is there a place they have you go do it?

My fiance and his daughter want to go and get their bloodwork done and they don't want to just go anywhere.

  7. I was wondering the same thing about that.

My sister in law stated that when she was getting sponsored, she needed it. Of course this was 10 years ago. When I went to the website, it stated that if you were marrying, you'd have to have the affidavit of single status but not for k1. I heard you can get it at court of clerk...that's what that office is called here in Louisiana.

  8. I was trying to get my paperwork together for package three...and filled out (ds 156, electronic online form) multiple times...has anyone else done that and have any problems???

Also, I'm having to fill out the forms for my to-be stepdaughter...what am I supposed to answer for her when it asks the following questions (ds 156, electronic online form)

    27. purpose of trip

    33. study in US? I'm assuming yes since she's only 8...unsure of which school she will be attending though.

    37. following people? she will have a stepsister and myself...do we mark yes or would it be no since we are just step and not related by blood?

  9. I posted this in the K1 board and not many responses...hoping someone here can help me in the regional board.

I am awaiting NOA2 for my fiance and soon to be stepdaughter.

I know my income is well over the 125% poverty level guideline for a family of 4 (I have a daughter).

I have 2 jobs that the pay fluctuates depending on the hours worked at each job, but roughly I make approximately $2800.00 a month between the two jobs. How would I show that in the i-134? Do I just list my full time job and the annual salary of both jobs and have both employer letters available?

I am aware I would need a i-134 for each of my beneficiaries, so can I list one job on each form?

Do i do a supplement sheet to show I work at two different jobs?

both jobs are the same field, but it's two different businesses.

Im also confused on which form I fill out for both of them and which forms I fill out for each of them.

The more I look at these forms the more they all look the same to me :(

    :help:

  10. Hello,

Hoping someone can shed some light on the forms that would be required after NOA2 is received.

My fiance and soon-to-be stepdaughter are in Vietnam and it seems that we will need the following forms:

    DS-156, DS-156k, DS-230, and I-134.

Would I need one form of each for each beneficiary?

My soon to be stepdaughter is 8 years old.

Also, do I use Ho Chi Minh City for both city and providence on the forms?

Another question I have is I have two jobs. Both jobs have me approximately 30k for annual salary.

My pay fluctuates depending on how much I work at the jobs. For example, January - March I was full time at job 1 and part time at job 2. Now it's vice versa...full time at job 2 and part time at job 1.

How would I be able to fill out the i-134 form about those jobs?

Should I just take the average of three months salary prior to the interview date and use that to calculate my annual salary for both jobs?

I am aware that I need to fill out one of each (i-134) for my fiance and soon to be stapdaughter...would I be able to put one employer on one form and the 2nd employer on the other? the annual income would be the same.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much.
