NomadTravels reacted to bdglen in Big fight, husband crossed a line
Maybe I'm old school too, or maybe it's because I'm gay and married to another man, but my attitude is " happens" sometimes our emotions outpace our heart and brain. If a few lousy words spoken in a moment of passion are enough for you to throw it all away, maybe you never really had it in the first place. If you don't want to fight to keep it, it's not really worth keeping.

I agree. But you can't factor out the human part.
Every single human gets angry and says what they don't mean. What does that mean? Divorce and walk away?
No, communicate and if the issue is not fix, than walk away and divorce.

I didn't say tolerate it. I said communicate your expectations which should include respect from that spouse. The issue with many newly weds is they expect the other spouse to meet their non communicated expectation like that spouse is able to read minds. It doesn't work that way.
Communication of expectations, goals and other stuff should happen before marriage in order to be in the same page and that would eliminate the being surprised by unknown things in marriage; which a lot of newer generations run to divorce as a solution.
Divorce should be a last resort, not an lightly chosen option. Sit down with your spouse and figure it out, that's how old school did it and they learned to love each other with their flaws.
Again I didn't say tolerate the behavior, I said communicate and if it happens again than use other option which might include separation or divorce.
Men are not mind readers, and women are not either. Instead of walking off of a relationship because something simple, put your feelings aside and fix it.
The true BS will be giving up at the beginning of the road because the man expects to be treated as king or the woman being treated as a queen when both are not on the same page.

An advice from an old experienced italian lady: don't leave immediately!
Leave the "dust" fell down on the floor, and take your time to rethink about the entire situation.
If you moved here, leaving your Country and went through the (endless) process to obtein the GC, it means something, right? Just now was a fight. It happens sometimes to say things you don't really think only because you are angry. Now I try to see your point: "I'm here alone, nobody from my family, US is a difficult Country for living, maybe some problem with language (as I have!)... and this man I gave everything for, the love of my life, now became my worst enemy!!!"... It is very human reaction thinking to run away!
But take a bit for thinking about it , and all the consequences it would bring. It's worth to do it? Are you really sure that coming back to your Country is the solution that would make you happier and safer? If you leave now, probably will be very difficult to step back. Running and doing things on the spur of the moment never solved a problem. So, unless you are afraid for your security, I would take some time for myself, just to clear my mind.
Good luck!

A little sharp response? I'm sure he has thought of that. Many people assume that because someone is from the US they will just have money sitting around to take care of any possible situation. However I would be concerned when the wife wants to return to the DR to visit family that debt won't go away and she might have trouble leaving again.

NomadTravels reacted to glenmar in Thank God I-129F Approved
My fiancée Ms Glenmar woke me up this morning with our regular Viber text message. As I looked at my mobile I noticed I had received a text from USCIS. It worked out wonderfully as I was able to call her and check my case status at the same time. We both got the news together. I want to thank all the vj people who Didn't sit around and just take the CSC slow down injustice. Guys we did something about it didn't we!!! CSC is approving at a very fast rate now. July filers and early August filers my heart is with you. I really believe you will get yours next week.

NomadTravels reacted to tinman in Why CSC doesnt keep doing Dec with august to nov?
ITS NOT SELFISH TO WANT TO SEE "ONES' PETITION APPROVED AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE..BUT MAYBE SAYING IT 'OUTLOUD' SO TO SPEAK, AND KNOWING THAT THERE IS SOME INJUSTICE FOR SO MANY OTHERS WAITING IN LINE, IS KIND OF LIKE BELIEVING TAKING 'CUTS IN A LINE' AND JUSTIFYING IT JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO GET WHERE YOU ARE GOING FASTER.
i DON'T BLAME YOU, AND NEITHER WOULD ANYONE ELSE HERE...BUT IT KIND OF IRRITATES SOME PEOPLE WHEN SOMEONE WANTS SOMETHING 'WHEN THEY WANT IT' NO MATTER IF IT AFFECTS OTHERS WRONGLY.
I BELIEVE 'FIRST IN LINE' DESERVES ALL THE ATTENTION, NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION...OTHERWISE GOING AHEAD OF OTHERS BEFORE YOU IS NO BETTER THAN JUSTIFYING THOSE DACA APPLICATIONS.
HERE'S HOPING YOU GET YOUR QUICK APPROVALS..BUT HOPING OTHERS BEFORE YOU GET THEIRS FIRST!...THE WAY IT OUGHT TO BE!

NomadTravels got a reaction from Sheepwalk in CSC is ALIVE :)
I'm really glad they are back up, but they really should get their act together for the earlier filers. I'm Sept, but there are people waiting from July! I'm sure they would like to get on with their life.

This is beyond unacceptable. US Citizens filed this petition and paid good money for it. There is absolutely no reason that ANY group, business, illegal, whatever should be put ahead of citizens. It should be a USCIS policy regardless of Presidential mandates. I can understand having a set processing time, say 6 months to allow passions to cool down and make sure folks are really ready to get married, however this fickle up and down, bounce you about nonsense should not be acceptable. I know people will reply that this is government and we should just wait but why? If the DMV were to slow down it's processing of drivers licenses, etc do you think that people would put up with it? "Oh sorry, we are behind, currently we are processing pink licenses for dreamers, we'll get to you next month" can you even imagine the outrage? I'm sorry, but from what I have read on these forums it doesn't sound like the USCIS processing takes much longer for than for the DMV processing your license. Considering it is multiple times more expensive.
It's time for the people here who are just like "Whatever just wait" to switch off and for a little outrage to switch on. If a group of illegals who don't have to pay anything to process their application can get set ahead of the legitimate citizens what are we coming to? Google DACA and the first link is a special interest group that wants illegals go come on board because they will be more sympathetic to their cause. This should be outrageous to any citizen regardless of political affiliation. I personally believe immigrants are a huge asset to this nation and agree with many economists who feel that in the not to far future, advanced nations will be competing for immigrants. However the idea that immigrants should essentially be given an open door because they are more likely to vote in a certain why should be a tasteless to Americans as gerrymandering.
Sorry for the rant, but as long as people are willing to sit back and say "that's the way government is" without remembering in which country they live (a place where people can apply pressure and change things) nothing will change. We should talking to various organizations to see if their is a lobbying day in Washington focused on immigration. If not we should set one up. Folks who are being served by the various other service centers should pay attention as well, things might be going OK at VSC now, but what if they get overloaded with a bunch of these DACA applications as well?

Are you serious??? I can give you sooo many examples of case numbers for DACA that have the same filling date as me and that have been approved in october, november, december. So don't say that DACA hasn't created any backlog at CSC, because they had!

Aren't they illegal? Nobody wants to demonize them, as it largely wasn't their fault to be brought to America in the first place, but to delay the processing of legal immigrants for the purposes of catering to illegals does put a lot of people off.
