Hi this is what mine says
    " Initial Review
On June 19, 2012, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or contact our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."
I sent the paperwork to the Vermont Service center too.
My husband called a month ago and they said that if you don't hear from them, it means that haven't found anything wrong with your paperwork so "no news" is actually good news!
I am tempted to call and just beg them to hurry up but it's less than a month away and I can actually start a countdown so I'd rather wait for few more weeks. We're all in the same situation here. Good luck!

Well, although the visa paperwork reached the NVC in September, we just received notice the other day that my wife's interview has been scheduled for December 18th...what a relief! The reason it took so long is because the packet was missing the police certificate (we knew it was missing that...sent everything else while waiting on it). Well, I got an email saying they needed a copy of it, so I sent a copy of it. Then I received notification they wanted the original. That seemed odd so I called and was told they wanted the original. Against my better judgement the original was mailed...and then lost. Called and explained the situation to the NVC, who then stated a copy would do...UGH! Sent a copy of it (which I kept on my computer) and all was glorious after that. Unfortunately though, we'll have to go get a new original police certificate now since the first one was lost...PITA...oh well, at least we now have an interview date, which is a relief.
With any luck, the interview will go well and my wife and our son will soon be able to enter the States. We started the process back in mid-March, so it has taken quite some time.
BTW...I updated my timeline and noticed a few spaces regarding "Pkt 3." What is Pkt 3 referring to?

I can't believe how frustrating an experience the wait for NOA2 has been. Its not bad enought we had to see people from Apr. May and June get approved a month ago at CSC, now we get to see how all those who applied in Aug. Sep and even Oct start to get approved....
Don't get me wrong, its not the people I am hating on, it's the system and how they abuse the proper function of a queue, being in all cases a first in first out system. I really feel there should be some reimbursement for all the mental anguish and stress this generates.
.... BTW, the service request opened a couple of weeks ago just came back in the mail with a notice that requests I give 60 days for a response. (No Words)
Good Luck to all living and feeling the same way.

    Hi All
Since I found great value in the April Vermont filers post--- Here is one for all the May filers
My filing date was 5/12/12 .. The good news from here is I was approved today after an RFE that took a week to clarify.
The approximate time for approval was a bit less than 6 months. Best wishes and good
thoughts to all who have applied and have not been approved as yet.. It looks like
several folks with filing dates in May have recently been approved. I encourage all
with May filing dates to add to the topic..
I did have an appointment with immigration in Portland which I attended to make sure I had correctly answered the RFE. At that time I also filed a REQUEST FOR SERVICE. Not sure if it helped - might be useful to some...eh?
    Thanks
    Walt

Called USCIS today to file a service request as today is the 5 month 1 day mark. I was told that VSC is still working on May and it will be about 20 days till they get to my petition, PD June 4th.
So, that's the skinny for now at least.
Doesn't mean I may not get a response prior, just means they want me to leave them alone until then.
    Lady was really nice though.

Household count is not based on who resides in the same house. If he does not claim his parents on his taxes, then they are not part of his household size. See the I-864 instructions for all the details about how to count household size.

He counts dependants. His parents aren't his dependants. You are. That's regardless of who you live with/where you live unless he claims anyone else as his dependants.
Household of 2, yes. 18.912,5 is the minimum.
Good luck and do a happydance once there's no more paperwork to be submitted.

First of all reading all the interview reviews really help my husband and me and i want to thank all the vj memebers who took the time out to submit a review. Our interview time was 8:30am we arrived there at 7am we were told to wait before going into the line. at 7:30 am we went to line number 4 they gave us lucky number 214 then they seperated us. once inside we waited until 8:45am they called us to window 16 to turn in the cedula ,banco popular receipt, passport medical packet. then we sat down waited what felt like for an eternity at 11am they called us to window 26 it was a very nice white american guy. he asked me the following questions:
when and how did i meet my husband?
why did i come to dr? was it for vacation or business?
he then asked to see pictures
he asked what was the date of our wedding?
    where was the reception?
he then stated that he had to review our case and for us to have a seat.
i was so worried 10 minutes went by then they called our number
    and he asked my husband
does he have trouble with the police here in dr or in haiti?
did he turned in the birth certificate?
then he said you visa approved, you can go pay the domex.
my husband literally jumped up it was funny we said thank you and went to pay.
now we are waiting to pick up the visa they said 2to 4 business days.
    tips i give:
try to be there at least 1 hour before appointment time
dress business casual, there were many people dressing too casual, you want to convey that this is an important event in your life so dress accordingly.
there is no a/c i repeat there is no a/c so dress light and professional.
keep a positive attitude go in there knowing that GOD has favor upon you and your loved one.
be prepared! we brought everything just in case something happens, you want to have a peace of mind knowing you brought everything.

I beg to differ Mimolicious. If a non-spanish speaking/reading person cannot answer this, it should simply be ignored and hopefully someone who CAN read spanish will be able to help.
And it is the same with any other foreign language, as this is a multicultural website.
As long as help is provided, it should not matter what language the question is posted in.
