  1. ;)

    Hi all,

The people at the st luke's clinic will determine which shots you need and will provide those to you (typically) on the 2nd day of your medical exam for free

from my experience, i was only given the MMR shot (mumps, measles, rubella) and i was given a sheet of paper telling me i need to get the Td shot (tetanus/diphteria) in the US (because apparently they dont have that vaccine here -- some people have said tho that if you have a private doctor or such in the philippines you can probably get that shot but it's a bit expensive)

i havent asked how much this Td vaccine costs here so i cant share that info with you...neither do i know how much it costs there

anyhow, just wanted to assure you that the shots is the last thing you should worry about...the people at st luke's have got that covered

    goodluck!

  2. how did it go how did it go how did it go??? hehe share the news, we're all excited here :D

3 HRS, 55 MINS, 30 SEC.....UNTIL MY WIFE'S INTERVIEW. I PRAY EVERYTHING GOES WELL. SHE IS REALLY PUMPED AND I HAVE A HEADACHE THINKING ABOUT IT TOO MUCH

    [/size=4]

congrats and best wishes! ahhh true love (L)

    :D

Hey, I returned last Saturday from my 2 months in the Philippines. I've been too sick to post until today, but "Felyng" better finally. And I have the news many of you have been waiting to hear.

I'm single. Yep, my notice of entry of dissolution has been here at my house since May 4th. Unfortunately the envelope it came in had no return address, so my daughter didn't realize what it was. Too bad. So I now need to find the money to go back and marry Fely. Ha, she tells me I will probably have to feed 500 people at the wedding celebration, because she's one of the favorites of the family and everyone in the barangay knows her.

Well that's all I wanted to say for now. I may post more later or create a new thread with things I learned or experienced on the trip, if anyone's interested. Also for those interested I posted a few pictures, which you can view by clicking the link right below in my signature. Yea! one step closer to getting Fely's visa.

    Gary

    sh*t happens hehe j/k ;)

keep us posted on any developments!

Thank you all for the kind words, especially Jeeleebee and Audrey&Romy! Will keep everyone posted on my annulment. Whew! How could I have married the same man twice?
  3. im sorry to hear about your difficulties, i'd be very disheartened too if it were me. but hang in there, we'll all pray for you!

lotsa luck to the others too!

This thread just caught my eye and I see that somehow we have been listed incorrectly. Last year around this time we were waiting for our NOA2 with many of the graduates here. Alot has changed since then. We had our interview on November 25, 2005. The visa was denied but we were allowed to file a waiver petition. That petition was deniedl on March 3, 2005 after a torturous 13 week wait for what we expected would be an approval. We are now trying to find a way for us to live in the UK together. We found a house to rent while I was there (the two room flat in Brixton just was not large enough!). Now I am back in Michigan preparing to apply for a fiancee visa to allow me to move to the UK and marry him and live there. This feels like a neverending most stressful process.

I don't see very many of the familiar names posting in here... I think everyone else that we came through Nebraska with has already settled in the USA with their love. We expected to be married and living in the USA before the end of 2005.

mary (feeling very disheartened at this time)

  4. Congrats and stay happy!

Hey Rebelheart I have checked in to having an adoption for Helen's daughter, but you have to married for 3 years before that can happen so before the AOS is not possible.

  5. the passport is outside the brown envelope thingy...you can get it without opening anything you shouldnt be opening :)

i think everyone´s envelope is like that, cuz mine is too...anyhow, as rebelheart said, no worries

    Congrats again! :dance::dance::dance:

Yes we got it yesterday from delbros!!!! thanks jeeleebee :D but....her yellow envelope is cut...an entire 2-3 inch corner is cut she says it looks like scissors or a razor...corners are exposed :o

just read in another forum how this person had to open her package to get out her passport for the CFO stamp and was then put into interigation in the US

  6. no offense taken, im EXACTLY 25 :D

thanks all! i really wanted to share my good news here asap so the people in AR would have some hope

purpledonkey, this really means you're next!

hey jeeleebee congratz any idea why you were singled out for review for an AR?? im curious with out being offensive are you over 25 ??? cause it seems like thats the age that triggers it ive seen more then not.

  7. congrats! cant hardly wait for my turn!

hello everybody! i am dancing with joy now and Praising God. He is really good and always have the right timing.

After 1 month of being in AR and spending lotsa mulah in calling the call center, i finally have my visa on hand. I tried calling the embassy last tuesday and told me i was still under review and the girl even told me not to bother calling there 'coz they are all busy and have lots of visa to process. The next day, i got a message from delbros telling me that they will delvier my visa. I just received it this morning.

Thanks for all your prayers. My fiance is also excited now. :-) I have a very impt lesson i got from this waiting. Always trust God in everything, He have the right timing. I am leaving on the 8th of April. (excited huh!)

    Congratulations!!

  8. sure you can stamp it yourself with your fingerprint but you cant put the dry seal on there yourself

i dont know how strict the embassy is about this but just to be sure i had the dry seal and thumbmark put on mine

    Guys (F)

I would very much appreciate it if you can ease my worries :help:

It is regarding the NBI Clearance. I was staring at it and noticed the Right Thumb Box in the lower right corner of the NBI Clearance is blank. I didnt worry about it UNTIL I read the note in the lower right corner specifying: "Not valid without dry seal and thumb print". :hehe:

When they released my NBI Clearance, I was just too happy to finally get it after a harrassing several hours falling in line under the sun. I went home immediately and never looked back.

Was I supposed to place my right thumb print on the NBI Clearance? Someone told me that the thumb print info is already embedded in the bar code above the right thumb box.

Will the embassy care about the Right thumb mark? Should I buy a black stamp pad and start putting my right thumb print there?

Information on what you did/submitted would be greatly appreciated.

    with many thanks,

    mac

Hey! I got exactly that same scare myself when i went got my NBI clearance. I got home and realized i forgot to have my thumb print marked on there. I freaked out and drove right back to the NBI office only to find out that i could have gotten a black stamp pad and put my thumb mark on the clearance myself...lol

So it's your call...go back to the NBI office and spend about 5 mins to get you thumb mark on it...or buy a stamp pad. Whichever is most convenient for you....just make sure you have your thumb mark on your NBI clearance.

  9. yes actually he has

Since we filed and went thru Nebraska we have gotten 2 updates/letters from his congressman's office

My fiance wrote again the day after my interview and called them last friday...i do hope we can get some help this time

We are also going to call DOS and the embassy at least once a week until this AR is resolved

Congrats to all who have been approved, and goodluck to those in line for their interviews and those in AR like me

No news, i will let you all know if there's any change. Can't believe it's only been a week, i do hate waiting

    Ah well...

JB has your fiancee contacted there local congressman office?? they can clear things up in most cases. i'm 90% sure we're goin to get an AR and have made sure im on a first name basis with everyone in my congressmans office. they cant do anything till an AR is made ,but they can speed things up

  10. Congrats to all who have been approved, and goodluck to those in line for their interviews and those in AR like me

No news, i will let you all know if there's any change. Can't believe it's only been a week, i do hate waiting

    Ah well...

WOW  We're getting more and more approvals!

    Congratulations Soulseeker!!! :D

We also want to hear from you Andrewkonen!

Hey PW, tcav05, Toobig, Jeeleebee and Feelinblue..., any news?

    Blessings everyone!

  11. hey y'all

sorry for taking so long to reply, been soooo busy at work (cant complaim, it keeps me from dwelling on the AR)

anyhow, i DID ask why etc, but i didnt ask the consul, i asked the guy who gave me the white sheet abnd pink slip...but he didnt know why and when the review will be completed

at the end of the interview when the consul said "we'd like to do some more processing on your case, wait for your number to flash again and we'll let you know the next step" i took it to mean he just wanted to check something in my papers or whatever, some minor thing

so i thanked him for his time and went back to the waiting area

if i had known it would mean AR i would most definitely have asked him why. unfortunately, i wasnt thinking right and i thought the guy was kind of a jerk, so i just wanted to leave

It's not in the nature of Filipina women to be forceful and demanding but I think Rye that your suggested list of questions in case of AR are good ones.

I posted the reason for my AR in an earlier post. The AR was all my fault.

The consul instructed me what I needed to do but did not tell me how much time I had to complete my papers so I had to ask him. They usually give a one year grace period.

  12. what's a cemonar? maybe cenomar as in certificate of no marriage? anyhow, why would the embassy need that in your case?

thanks much for sharing, im in AR too and im so glad you heard back, means maybe i will too *keeps fingers crossed*

Update for AR ........called and found out they have requested a cemonar ......... one week to a month ......could be worse .............sure can't wait to taste some good mangos when I go over in May and maybe even bring me back my princess
  13. sorry you guys, but my case is in review too

if AR means getting a white sheet with "Please wait to hear from us etc etc" ticked on it, then that's where I'm at...got a pink slip with that too for paying the visa delivery fee and i paid that so i'm still hoping to get the visa...the embassy did not return any documents to me, not even the pictures...i was not told anything but to wait for either a letter of instruction from the embassy or the actual visa itself...no timeframe was given tho

    Anyhow PW, welcome back!

I hope the next batch will have better luck!

    Way to go Andrea!

Hey Jeeleebee and feelinblue, let us know the status of your interview. We're all hoping for a big OK for you as we've seen way too many ARs already.

  14. i intend to be there 2 hours before the interview...

I see jeeleebee is getting awfully close to interview time! Feel the anxiety? I hope you will be another 'ok' i see on that date list.

all i have is the 2004 ITR but i have 2003-2005 W-2's...and they're just copies, i really hope that's sufficient

guess i'll find out soon enough

Just have 2002-2005 ITR just to be safe. That's what I'm gonna do  It's hard to risk in Manila Embassy you know

    Sheila (F)

  16. just the Td (Tetanus Diptheria - adult formulation) cuz apparently that vaccine isnt available here

It'll be soooo great if i dont have to go thru another medical exam for AOS, hope what you read about it is true

    Leeleebee:

In your last response to my question about immunizatios you said:

"anyhow after i got the MMR i got a piece of paper listing what other shots i need to get later, and MMR2 was crossed out so i guess that meant i didnt need it."

I am curious about the "other shots" that are needed? I was hoping St Lukes would send 'us' out with all the shots needed. But it really seems like they are just doing some basic minimum and really that means we will end up paying alot of money in US for the 'other' needed shots.

I did read that they will accept this medical for your Adjustment of Status Package. But you would have to get shot record certified by a Civil Surgeon.

    Robert & Lorna

i dont know why suddenly it's so difficult to get the embassy to forward the packet to st luke's...when i went thru all this i got thru to the embassy the first time i tried calling (around 7am on a wednesday), call got answered after a couple rings, i was told my packet was gonna be sent out in 2 hours, i called that afternoon around 2pm and st luke's had my packet.

anyhow, good luck to you all still waitin on that packet. i havent gotten mine that was supposedly sent by courier feb 2nd but ive given it up for lost

    :help:

Do you really even need the packet? I have all the forms downloaded and filed on my computer already. If you have your case number isn’t that good enough? I ask cuz I have tried and tried to call the embassy, 0116325286300 extensions 5184 and 5185, and have not been able to get anyone. I call at 8:00a Manila time with no luck and kept trying for an hour. My fiancée also tried with no luck. So is the packet something you really need?

    :help:

    Thanks.

    Hi andrewkonen

As my fiance always told me, its not the embassy will reach us, but we are ... so he told me to try harder, so even i was pissed off everyday regarding calling embassy only for the copy of packet.

My experienced is dat, 1st time i ring call center, bcos they are the one u cud rign easy, but my 1st request was sucked. I request it feb 13 and even asked me when i want to take medical so i said feb 20. I gave him 7 days only to furnished my request but on my shocked feb 20, i never got packet but i did proceed with medical having my NVC letter with case no. and downloaded interview date of our case # in embassy website. so when im in SLEC i request to pull out my packet to embassy, they even logged my name on pullout. But when i come back on 2nd day, they said no packet still bcos embassy holiday, so meaning the SLEC staff is not aware of holiday. and was asked again to come back yesterday but i didnt go........

instead... i col embassy directline at 730AM (5286300 ext 5184, 5185) but soemtimes they will tell u did col our call center no.???? tell them yes u did alot of times... bcos they will ignore u when their busy. Just keep bugging the direct line and asked to pull out ur packet to st. lukes..

im goign back tomorrow @ st lukes, told embassy im done with my medical without the packet, so they do so now and awhiel ago when i col them... its already there but i never picked it up insteas tmrow, after my son school.

I was so demanding to pull it out to St. lukes , bcos they have messenger rather than, waiting for courier that is late also, i never trust my neighborhood when it comes to courier mail ro packages. and by the time of our interview on march .... my fiance will be asking embassy if they could mail my passport in his hotel and to addressed to his name instead, bcos he is coming with me onmy interview

this is my diary about packet pick up issues... hehehehhe got a terrible experienced

    -rebelheart-

  17. first of all sorry for not being able to reply to your question rebelheart, i had a busy weekend and didnt have time to check out the forum

anyhow R&L, about the shots, i wasnt even asked what immunizations ive had, i was just told i'll get the MMR done when i come back for my second day...i think the doctor based that on my profile and answers to her questions (age, ever had chickenpox etc)...it was a pretty quick pit stop for the immunization history portion, dont worry about it. but if you have had shots as an adult or you can get a certification done without too much hassle by your doctor listing your immunization history then you can bring that along

anyhow after i got the MMR i got a piece of paper listing what other shots i need to get later, and MMR2 was crossed out so i guess that meant i didnt need it.

Hey Rebel, Soulseeker, Purpledonkey and anyone else:

I have read carefully thru your experiences and seems like it works to go into medical around 10:30AM so far for Rebel and Soul Seeker and Jeeleebee also said it seemd a waste to go in early.

What a bummer Rebel to get there an no packet? But you perservered and got thru: congratulations.

I was just wondering about the Immunization part. Rebel mentioned that she had a "immunization doctor". So there is a separate doctor that goes over your immunization records? How does that work? Does this doctor take the your word for the shots you have had in past but can not show the records of that shot? If so do they give you some kind of official shot record that can be later used in USA as part of the AOS medical requirements? I agree with Rebel that it makes sense to St Lukes give you all the shots you need. I did hear about the MMR and that it needs a second dose MMR2. Does anyone know what kind of shots they give you during your exam? As far as anyone knows what is the purpose of St Lukes to send you out with all your shots??

    thanks so much

    Robert & Lorna calif

  18. hey thanks for the link to the sample questions, the bf and i will be practicing a bit for the interview  he thinks i have a tendency to be rather sarcastic and snippy :innocent:

about what to do after getting the visa, well there's the CFO seminar. technically you can get that done before the interview (they will give you a certificate of attendance) then just go back to get the stamp in your passport before you hop on a plane but what's the sense in going there twice when you can do it all in one day?

congratulations! :) hope everything goes smoothly for you... definitely let us know how it goes!

I'm not sure I can be much help with your question, and I'm definitely the farthest from an expert... but from my impressions so far (you'll note that I haven't even had my I-130 approved yet), it seems like after the interview, they decide your case and if it's approved, she'll get her visa in about a week (probably longer, hay naku). Then you and your shepherd friends get the flock out of dodge ;) As far as I know, all you have left to do after you have the visa and your passport is hop a plane. I think that's what the visa is, isn't it? Permission to enter (or stay) in the country?

Here's a list of questions that someone posted a while ago. They're not Manila-specific, but they're definitely good starters. They helped my wife and I even discuss how we should be answering the questions. She tends to be terse when and sometimes a fuller, longer answer might help us more ;) Good luck!
