I had my name added to the title deed for our car (we only have 1 vehicle right now and eventho it was purchased after our marriage i wasnt present during the transaction so it was in my husband's name only) -- anyhow, it took about 15 mins to add me and a fee of $7.50 at the titles office next to the dmv

Ive only ever sent my apps thru USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation, no problems with it...i've never bothered with the return receipt, but a confirmation number you can look up online helps ease the worry Goodluck!

Goodluck learning Tagalog and tell your coworkers "Anong paki mo!" (substitute "niyo" for "mo", if plural) when they get annoyed at you playing your vocabulary videos...it literally just means "What do you care?" but if said in a sufficiently annoyed tone it can mean something closer to "I dont give a sh*t what you think" LOL

Hi I dont know if my reply is late (hope it's not, and hope this helps)

I had to go to a second biometrics for my AOS back in the day too...I did call the info line and they werent able to tell me why I had to go back and do it over but the USCIS office was less than an hour away in my case so I didnt really think of ignoring the letter...the lady who redid my fingerprints said my file must have been lost but she wasnt sure

It's a hassle but we have to jump through the hoops until we get done with this immigration process. Goodluck with the rest of your journey!

My husband is interested in learning Tagalog and I did get him a couple language cds and a dictionary from Amazon.com and such before we even get married but he didnt learn anything from that lol

I would like to teach him in a more structured way so can you share your experience with Rosetta Stone? He thinks it might be worth getting...and what about that mp3 file you mentioned?

It's just hard to teach someone Tagalog by assimilation when you're the only one who speaks it in your house He's picked up some words and phrases here and there like "Sabi mo...!" and "Ayoko!" (both spoken in an annoyed tone haha)

Anyhow, that Psst! + point with the lips comment had me laughing...I really didnt realize I do it quite a bit until my husband said something about it a couple months ago (it's hilarious when he does it too)...Oh well, it's a Filipino thing

QUESTION TO THE USCs: Does your wife really try to teach you Tagalog?

My wife really doesn't teach me, she will correct me and giggle, but I learn more from "The Rosette Stone" computer program and "Before You Know It" mp3 file.

Personally, I think them Pinays are keeping their language a secret.

But now I know to look when she goes "psssst", and to get what she is pointing her lips at!

I know of someone who did it before their marriage, I waited until after...not much of a difference, just depends on when you need to have the SSN for banking and such...goodluck when you go to your local SSA, hope you dont get a person who doesnt know the rules for K-1 (had a bit of stress over that the first time I applied, but i still got my card in the mail after 2 weeks)

I sent mine priority (or whatever you call the 2-3 day delivery thing) with delivery confirmation

I didnt include a photocopy of my ssn card, i dont think it's necessary (if they want my ssn they have it on the form and on the tax transcripts)

As for patis, toyo, rekados...I get mine from an international supermarket (lucky me, meron silang Philippine aisle)...I hope you guys will be able to find a store like that, kasi nakaka-miss talaga ang filipino food! Yung mga nasa pinas pa, ikain nyo ako sa Chowking! hehe

James, when i emailed the template (thanks for providing that to everyone! ) to my mother-in-law i forgot to put my A# on it and she's already got the document notarized before i realized the omission, i was just wondering if it was crucial cuz if it's not then i wont bother having her go do it over

i finally got my greencard today (check out my sig for all the details on my case)...but the card says "resident since 09/27/2006" eventho my AOS was approved 10/31...is this considered an error or should i just let it be? all other info is correct and i dont really want to return my card for correction if i dont have to

Now i always thought that after me being approved and getting my greencard in my hand the EAD application would just not get anything done to it ...but wow im wrong....will let ya know if i actually receive a card or not....has this happened to anyone else that has been approved...or am i just one of the lucky ones....lol
