  1. TRUE TRUE

The 1st day of the medical was surprisingly quick and easy eventho i went there SUPER early (cuz i thought i had to), and getting the packet there is hassle-free as long as you call the right people at the embassy (not the call center -- they know NOTHING!)...mine was forwarded practically hours after i called and i was even told that i can go to st luke's that afternoon if i wanted to :D and to think i was stressing over not getting that packet!

anyhow, i definitely recommend getting the medical out of the way early so you'll feel more relaxed by the time the interview date rolls around

    rebelheart,

"is it ok, to bring my filled-up forms already with me??" It wont do any harm. I did bring mine as a security blanket.. but they really wont be getting it yet. Not on the first day anyway. As I recall, as has been previously posted in the past threads, you bring those forms during your interview. All you really need to bring is your passport, a black ballpen, payment for the medical and 2x2 pictures.

"i printed all the forms with details from my pc already, just need to signed it and write tha date on the last page... i wonder it is different from forms inside the packet????? " They should be the same...but to make sure, check if You downloaded the latest version of the forms.

re:photocopy of the appointment letter...there are lots of xerox copiers across the street. You can have the letter photocopied in a minute for 1 peso.

  2. isnt the consul supposed to instruct you on what to do next if there are additional requirements needed, or am i really naive?

I will talk with her tonite and make sure of any info she gave me .......she was pretty upset last nite when we talked, is there anything I need to do on this end to help things along ?

I hate the way they do things without any explanation. They are really messing with people's emotions! I hope some day it will turn on them and then they can see how they like it!

  3. Hi PW, thanks for the reply. i dont understand why im not allowed to see my own medical records, im really curious as to what the doctors wrote about me since i submitted additional documents during the 2nd day. ah well, nothing i can do about it now. im thinking if they found out you have a dread disease, wouldnt they tell you right away so you can seek treatment and not have you wait for your interview to get the bad news? :D

    Jeeleebee,

I never saw my medical result. It was sent straight to the Embassy by St. Lukes together with my passport. The medical result was never discussed during my interview. I think that it would only come up at the interview if there is an "adverse finding" (TB, AIDS, HIV-positive) as this could be a ground for visa denial. I don't think that the consul is in a position to discuss medical results as he is not qualified to do that and would probably refuse to divulge any info.

  4. Hi PW,

You sound like you know what to do about the situation you found yourself in so im sure everything will work out for you...I hope it'll be sooner, not later tho ;) Good luck and God bless!

    To all,

Just a tip for the medical...if you have ever been hospitalized in your entire lifetime, bring your medical records with you on the first day. I spent almost all day at the clinic yesterday waiting for a doctor to examine my mri report etc from when i spent a day in the hospital in 2004...and in my opinion, it's always better to have the medical done early even if it's usually scheduled around a week before the interview. I'm done with mine and i feel good knowing it's one less thing to think about.

Goodluck to all of us!

oh btw PW (or anyone done with their interview), did you get to see your medical results during the interview? i was told it cant be discussed at the clinic due to confidentiality, and that i can find out the details on the day of the interview...how true is that?

    thanks much!

  5. This is most likely a late reply but here goes:

that $18 number has been totally useless...i called that number that jasman posted here somewhere, the one with the specific extensions...sorry, i wrote it down but cant find it right now

did you call the 18$ number? or is there a toll free number i can call? I just dont know who to call. Thank you for reply..I'll feel so much better when I know what's going on... ergonomic doesnt seem to be in manila's vocabulary. :D
  6. i wouldnt have thought it might be a problem if my friend wasnt told to specify what country she was going to when she got hers...anyhow, if anyone here has had their interview/visa and nbi clearance wasnt specific for USA please confirm, thanks

i guess i can always do it over tho, but it's a hassle

i'm no expert, but i'm sure that travel abroad includes the USA. Remember that the nbi clearance isn't issued by the united states, so it wouldn't specifically single out the usa.
  7. i didnt get mine in the mail, i got it when i went to have my medical done

she needs her passport and case number in lieu of the appointment letter, but embassy needs to be called first so they can send her packet to st luke's, then call st luke's to confirm

anyhow that's how i did it

wow that is nerve wracking, but i think i have read of others taking a long time to get their packet, so i think maybe you are within "acceptable" limits, at least for manila. But maybe you could also call them and ask if your fiancee can pick up a packet from the embassy.
