  1. Well, I don't know what illegals immigrants that you know, but I don't know any illegal immigrants that are paying taxes. In fact, most of them get paid under the table at or below minimum wage. That said, I certainly don't have any issue with people coming here to live when they go through the proper channels, and I certainly would not want to live in Mexico. I don't know what to say though except unfortunately in life we're not all dealt the same hand. It's not fair, but it's the way things are. So, as an actual United States citizen that DOES pay taxes to this country, does jury duty, votes in our elections, etc, etc... I fully expect my government to look after me before someone who has illegally snuck into the country just so our President can wrangle himself a little more of the Latino vote. If you want to call me having that expectation 'mean' then so be it.

okay... I'm out, until this duscussion ends... I don't think you would like to take a bullet to get your green card.. I'm glad that you serve your country by voting and paying taxes.. cause my fiance went to freaking war 2 times and wakes up every night because of nightmares... well... it's not even worth it.. ignorant and people who think taht have more rights that others are the issue here..

  2. I certainly didn't mean to upset you. America was built out of immigrants, as most often forget. That's what makes this place so great is its ability to merge all cultures into one. Please don't think I'm against anyone becoming a citizen. I know they work very hard doing what most Americans honestly snub their noses at dirtying their hands with. What upsets me is this: my fiance can't just arrive here and wait until the President decides to give him a break and a giant leap in front of those waiting in a very, very long line. They can wait their turn, just like we are having to. Not cut in front and get priority just for some votes at election year. Does that make sense?

Sure, of course it makes sense. I've never said that their case should be a priority. But actually, this is not their fault that some officials put other cases on hold to deal with all the Dream Act petitions and therefore, as you said, gain some votes... It only made me sad that today's discussion got so harsh :) I'm on yall side, remember ;)

  3. oh you are being so mean today :> What to do that the US is a country of opportunities? These people didn't come to the Stated for KFC or Chipotle.. Many of them have worked so hard to achieve something in life, and usually the did not have a chance to make their own decision... and the way of illegal immigration was probably the only choice they had... I am sorry that we have to wait because of the Dream Act.. well actually, we cannot be 100% sure that this is the direct cause of the delay. I am not happy with this waiting neither, believe me. Those people also pay taxes but they do not have returns as American citizens do. So let's just understand that for them, their cases are also extremely importnat. I don't want to offend anyone, I just try to understand other people..

  4. I have just been hit with a RFE, not sure what is it yet.

I am so mad tho, I contracted a lawyer precisely to avoid this.

I suspected problems when you guys mentioned about evidence of relationship submitted, because she didnt ask me for a single one.

I am fuming mad now, because I paid her thousands to avoid this problem!

Did anyone get hit with a RFE? How long did it delay your case by? And was it sent to beneficiary or petitioner? I assume petitioner right?

We got the notification on Wednesday (26) and the letter has arrived today. I don't know hat it is about yet, waiting for my fiance to pick it up from the mailbox. I'm praying that it takes them 2-3 weeks to review our response :(

  5. Marchies, does it even make any sense to contact my US Senator? I previously had my Congressman do an inquiry on my case, but they came back with the December timeframe response. I was considering trying my senator next, but since it appears to be close, wonder if I should even bother. What do you think? They're probably sick of me and I'm tired of this process already. Last night I dreamt that I was denied.

That must have been the worst nightmare! I would try the Senator, why not.. Stand for your rights because we are being denied of them by VSC :bonk:

We talked with my fiance about getting married before, so it wasn't that official. He came to Poland in May and one morning I woke up with the ring on my finger. I didn't realy have the chance to say "no" hahah (L)

  6. Just received a text, that my status had been updated........my heart beating fast,i thought, this fast?? i just sent on Wednesday. So i check, all scared and it says its in Request for Evidence Response Review

Im assuming this means, its on someones desk under review. I wonder how many days after this does it take?

    <<breathes out>>

Woo my heart stopped... I thought you would say "approved". But I'm sure you will say that next week :)

@ Mr Smiely: wow it took less than a month from NOA2 to issuing your visa?? I want that too :(

  7. My fiance has been telling me the past few weeks that we will not be married until after march of 2013. I am starting to believe her now... :bonk:

Hopefully it happens sooner. I really keep my fingers crossed for you.

My friend has been to the US in July 2011, twice this year and they didn't deny her.. and she has no job, lives with her parents.. I guess it's just a matter of luck.. My fiance cannot come to visit me and I have plenty of time and I'm stuck here... Well, nothing we can do :)
