  2. hi guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we have applied for k1 fiance visa , in vermont centre,, got noa 1 in october 2012 first week... when its possible /expected to get noa2??????????????????

Hi, you just never know when you will get your NOA2. We filed July 23 and haven't received our NOA2 yet. Some people have filed after us and already received their NOA2. It may not seem fair, but that's the way it is. Prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally to wait at least 6 months.

Don't let the stress and anxiety get to you guys. Hang in there and good luck.

  3. 4. My fiancee interviewed on 1-28-2013 in Manila and she passed the interview !! she should have her visa in hand in 5-10 days they told her.

before we knew about the interview I had bought tickets to fly there on February 25, and stay till 3/19. now that she is approved and should have her visa in hand in a few days, i would like to shorten the length of my stay and buy her ticket to return with me on 3/07.

should i go ahead and buy her ticket?? or wait until she has her visa in hand before making any changes? what's the chances of something going wrong? wait or buy now?

also she just noticed that i entered her phone number wrong on her DS form that she filed with the Embassy during her interview,,oopppsss! is there anything we should and can do about the wrong phone number? could it be a problem?

thanks everyone, we are so excited that we will be together soon!

    Congratulations

  5. So we got married in August, but in January we already got our appointment for the interview. Which means we get a 2 year green card, but we got it! The questions were redundant from the paperwork that you already have to fill out.

Just to give you my experience... She asked my wife what my name and birthday are, then asked all the questions you have to fill out on a form for the green card application anyways. "Are you a mass murderer", "Do you plan on overthrowing the government", etc. My wife answered 'no' to all of the questions, and she congratulated us and sent us on our way.

(^_^) I wish I would have filled my original form out by myself! Saved me some money. Thanks to this website for helpful advice. I recommend it to anyone I know who is also in need. And I want to give a big special thanks to the person whom without none of this would have been possible... My wife!

    Congratulations

  6. I got there at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, expecting I would be the 2nd or 3rd person there, but lo and behold, a line was already formed with over a dozen people! We stood waiting for two hours (I felt sorry for the pregnant woman in line with me) until the doors were opened. We were ushered in and the guard checked my papers (he looked for a photocopy of my passport, visa, one valid ID, NSO, and NBI). He took one valid ID and gave me a pink "CFO ID" to wear around my neck.

We sat down in front of some counters for two more hours until he announced that people with pink CFO ID's go to the 9th floor. We took the elevator to the 8th floor and then the stairs to the 9th floor. A nice old woman with glasses gave us forms to fill out (this is different from the online form) which asked for basic personal information about me and my fiance (birthdate, contact details, mother's maiden name, etc.) and a few ones like "What are your some of your concerns about living abroad" which had multiple choice answers like "Different culture", "Isolation/boredom/homesickness", etc. I was the first to pass my form, and the woman took my passport, my online registration form, and the papers that the guard downstairs checked for. She told me to wait and took other people's papers. After a while she called my name, took my picture, and told me to wait again.

After an hour, our counselor showed up holding our passports with the papers and called us one by one for the one-on-one interview. This is the tricky part because she can ask basically anything she wants from you. I was armed with everything - I already had the visa in my passport, all of my documents (NSO, NBI, CENOMAR, parent's advice - she didn't ask for this, which was weird because I am only 24), even my fiance's passport bio page! What she asked for was pictures of me and my fiance. Now this was the one thing I didn't bring because I was of the understanding that this was a SEMINAR, not an INTERVIEW. I could understand if this was required for those without the visa yet, but for Pete's sake, I had already passed my real interview with the US embassy proving our bona fide relationship and the visa was in my passport to prove it! I showed her photos on my iPhone, but she wanted hard copies (3 to be exact).

The seminar finished around 11:30 a.m. but I had to take a cab to Robinson's, have the photos printed at Netopia, and take a cab back to the CFO office. I finished around 2 p.m., dying from sleepiness and hunger (drama!). All in all, it was a bad experience, but I'm just glad it's over. :)

Thank you for your review, I will let my fiance know to bring everything just in case they ask for it. Congratulations on getting everything done, sorry to hear about the drama they put you through. Best of Luck to you guys

  7. Hello!

My mom's petition was approved Jan 26,so right now all i have to do is wait til they forward the case to NVC right? While waiting what should i gather?

I have been reading here but i am just overwhelemed with all the information its like i cannot even comprehend.. Too much to think while this is in process.

Please let me understand what to do next after approval. Thank you so much.

I just wanted to say Congratulations

  8. i just finished my interview today, i would like to know if i passed or not:

    1. at the 2nd interview (after finger scan) i saw the lady stamping my papers with something red.
    2. i got the last interview from a tall american woman and she said i need to sit and my name would be called again.
    3. i was called at the last step (2Go instructions) and the guy is going through my papers, he asked who petitioned me, and then said "everything seems ok" with an analyzing face....then he just told me to go home.

i'm just confused, am i not suppose to get a pink slip or something or to be informed that i passed? also he didn't gave me any kind of form to fill-up about my delivery infos...i didn't got any of my papers and my passport is left with them as well.

plus they haven't collected my DS-230 forms no more, the lady in the 2nd interview just browsed through our photos and didn't bothered to ask for my other evidences (facebook logs, skype logs, ring receipts, tickets etc.)

    i'm really worried right now.

Congratulations, they kept your passport. You passed :dance:

  9. Hi vj members!I am so confused regarding financial eligibility..my F filed our fiance petition September 2012.. he got his job november of the same year which makes at least 2k a month plus overtime, that's less taxes and deductions..now we have a baby which is a us citizen thru crba...that makes us 3 in the household..his mom is willing to be our co sponsor..do u think we are good to go?Also he is concerned regarding tax returns, does anyone knows here how to file taxes for the past year?say 2010...thank u!

As long as he can verify his income and it is above the requirement for the household of 3, you should not need a co-sponsor. From what I've read on this site, co-sponsors are not usually accepted for K1 at the US Embassy Manila, but I guess to have it as a backup would not hurt to try. As far as the taxes are concerned, he can either go to an accountant or tax service, like H&R Block or even file his own taxes with an online tax software such as Turbotax.

    I hope this helps

  10. Hi everybody!

I'm pregnant and due in 3 weeks. I had planned to speak only English to our baby and teach our child my native tongue later on when he gets older. The reason being that I'm so used to speaking English all the time and I don't really want to speak in my native tongue all the time. Also, my husband speaks only English so he would not understand when I talk to our child. Anyway, my Mom is giving me a hard time about this (she doesn't speak English). She thinks our child should speak to me in my native tongue and speak English to my husband and that I should start right away when the baby's born. I understand it's a good idea to teach your kids to be bilingual, but as a parent you would have to be very motivated doing that. And honestly I don't feel motivated speaking only my native tongue to our child. I was planning to teach my native tongue later on though (give lessons to our child). Anyway, I know that if I don't teach our child my native tongue right away, my Mom is going to be highly offended and hurt(which I don't want either). How would you deal with a situation like this? Any advice?

I wouldn't worry too much, babies are like sponges and pick up on languages much better than older kids or adults. Speak English to your spouse and speak your native language to your baby. You can give your spouse a lesson at the same time if he would like..hehehe. Good luck

  11. I'm getting ready to send in my I-129F. I'm definitely front-loading since my fiance is Ecuadorian and we'll be going through the Guayaquil consulate. Thanks to all who have forged the path before me, and left great advice and warnings!

    Here's what I have:

    - G-1145

    - Payment of $340

    - I-129F

    - I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person

    - My G-325A + signed, dated supplements

    - My passport style photo

    - His G-325A + signed, dated supplement

    - His passport style photo

    - Copy of my birth certificate, front and back (back is blank, so I noted that on the blank page I copied)

    - My letter of intent to marry

    - His letter of intent to marry

    - Proof of having met in person in the past two years:

    - Boarding passes from most recent trip (November 2012)

    - Passport pages from most recent trip (this will overlap with some of the passport pages in the "proof of ongoing relationship" section, but I wanted to make things as easy as possible for them to reference)

    - Boarding passes from two flights we took together within Ecuador

    - Hotel receipts and translations

    - Bank statement showing ATM withdrawal in Ecuador

    - Proof of ongoing relationship:

    - Header page summarizing all trips to Ecuador and noting which passport page the entry/exit stamps can be found on

    - Boarding passes from all trips to Ecuador

    - All passport pages showing entry/exit stamps

    - His passport pages showing entry/exit stamps from a trip we took together to Peru

    - Photos (haven't decided on how many yet...I have about 40, but was thinking of sending 15-20?)

    - 3 letters we sent each other and translations

    - Envelopes from letters we sent each other, showing postmarks

    - Engagement ring receipt and translation

    - Wedding band receipt and translation

    - Affidavit from my father, who has traveled to Ecuador and met my fiance (showing approval and support, not a financial affidavit)

    - Email correspondence between fiance and my father (stating his intentions to propose :) )

    - Fiance listed as beneficiary on my Roth IRA

    - Skype logs

    - Google+ hangout logs

    - Gmail chat/email logs (this shows daily communication, but it is 40 pages long (!)...should I cut parts out? scrap it altogether? keep it in?)

Alright! Any thoughts, feedback, suggestions? I'm nervous, but also getting excited...can't wait to officially get this process started!

It looks like you have everything you need. Good luck on this journey.

  12. Hi everyone,

I've searched through old posts and I couldn't find the exact answers I was looking for....so I'm looking for some help.

We're in the process of applying for a K-1 visa, me being the UKC.

I've seen different information in different places regarding when a police report is needed. Is it 6 or 12 months for living in another country?

    For instance,

I lived for a year in New Zealand on a working visa. I left just before my visa finished and was basically backpacking around the country so didn't have a permanent address. I wasn't in any trouble with the police.

I also lived in Australia for approx 9 months doing the same thing...working visa, backpacking, left before the visa and no trouble with the police.

Do I need to apply for police reports for these countries as over 6 months or just the U.K one for over 12 months?

If I have to get all the police reports....does anyone know how I would go about applying for them?

    Thanks all for your help

    Lynn

Hi, here is an official government website that will help you. Just click on the country and scroll down until you see police clearance. It will tell you if you are able to obtain a police clearance from that country - sometimes the police clearance is not available unless you are physically in the country. If it states that it is not available unless physically there, then print out the entire page that states this as proof when you go to your interview because sometimes the Intervier/CO doesn't know of this or just doesn't care and will say that you need the police clearance. This way you can show him/her your proof. My fiance printed this because she is not physically in one country that she worked and she applied for a police clearance to a different country and received it in about 3-4 weeks.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

  13. Hi I am just confused/concern about this. I am gonna petition my future husband next year. (we're gonna get marry on dec then I'll file a petition as soon as we get the marriage contract. My concern is im gonna go to school this year and gonna have student loan. Like $24,000 student loan. My question is, is my loan gonna affect my petition someday? Thank you in advance for the replies. God bless

The loan should not affect your petition. You should be fine, lots of people have student loans and/or other debts. I'm sure other people will chime in and give you more responses to confirm this.

    Good luck.

  14. My fiance needs to send me money for my ticket to the USA. How do we do this? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest Western Union. It can be done online and will only cost him $5 to send the money to you in a matter of minutes. You can pick it up at any Western Union in the Philippines.

    Good luck

  15. I'm getting ready to mail my K-1 packet. I was going to add some hotel receipts, plane tickets, boarding passes, chat logs (1 print out per month), card, and pictures...etc. I know it’s not even necessary to supply ongoing proof at this time, but I read it can't hurt? With that said the paper work is starting to add up, so how much is too much? Also, how do you arrange you proof? Keep all the proof in chronological order separate by type of proof or should I put each trip (3) of ongoing proof together?

As always thanks for the help! :)

Good luck and give as much info about your relationship as possible.
