I would like to ask for some help. I am getting depressed. I have been applying for less than 2 months. But I am still not getting any phone calls.

Can you guys please help me if you have sample resumes? I think it is about time to enhance my resume.

I would recommend going to a Temp Agency. That is always a good way to get your foot in the door of a company.

I've been a silent member of Visajourney and this is my first post, I would just like to thank everyone who help us out, this site help us alot. Our journey is not yet over but we are just happy that we got our NOA2 already, Im a July 19 filer , so those who are in the july time frame who are still waiting, next is yours! Thanks

Congratulations  Wow, that is great news for you guys and encouraging for us other VSC July Filers (We are July 23 NOA1). Thanks for the post, good luck and best wishes.

  5. Thank you! I've been seeing this site countless time but I still see people who were saying that they provided a clearance from South Korea so I can't have peace of mind. I might do what your fiance did. But I wanna know if the CO actually accepted the printed document. Thanks a lot!

I've read on here on several occasions where the CO tried to tell them that they needed a police clearance and once they were presented with the information from the state.gov website, they said it was a non-issue. My fiance and I have printed it out and are going to present it at her interview. Make sure that you completely print out the entire page, not just a portion of it.

    Talk to you later.

  6. Hi Everyone!

My husband is also in the army and right now we are waiting for our case to be complete at NVC...I am just wondering, ,what documents would the embassy (Philippines) need when we get there for the interview? Would they require additional documents from the army or just the documents required in general? and what are the extra documents required if there are any?

Feed backs will be greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

    Mayang

Hi, I have some information for you.

What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

    1.

A copy of the entire I-129f package (that you made when you sent the petition in) and a copy of information that you sent back due to an RFE (if you received one).

    2.

Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

    3.

Send an original letter affirming your desire to marry your fiance(e) and your continued support of the K-1 Visa. Sign and date the form. This will be similar to the letter you provided with the I-129F, but dated much closer to the interview (it will have most likely been several months since you submitted your I-129F).

    4.

I-134 Affidavit of Support form. Ensure it is signed, with all required supporting evidence. Begin collecting the required information ahead of time, as it can often take several weeks to collect it all.

    5.

You will likely need at a minimum (for the above form) two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer listing you job title, start date, your salary, and the status (full-time) of your position. Begin collecting these ASAP after your NOA2 arrives. You will also probably want to include other evidence such as your banking information and other assets as required by the I-134. Specifically you will need at least 2 of the 4 options mentioned in Section II-Supporting Evidence of the I-134. See this FAQ for more tips and ueful information on the Affidavit of Support Form.

    6.

A copy of the NOA2 that you received in the mail.

    7.

Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

Examples: Copies of land line and cell phone bills, appropriate emails and letters you have sent including the stamps on envelopes (to document the date they were sent), and other written documentary proof. Provide a reasonable amount; two to four of each type. Pick a range of dates up to and including the present. You can also include a copy of engagement ring receipt (this is something that is a big optional - do not worry if you do not have a ring yet!)

You also have to Download the DS forms

    I hope this helps

  7. Hi to my VJ family!

I just want to know if anyone of you know how to obtain the Korean Police Certificate and/or how it is done. Should I get it myself or the USCIS will request it for me? I can't remember any part of the 129F application asking if I worked/stayed in another country prior to application. Any info will be a great help!

    Thank you everyone! God bless....

Hi, I have included an official US government (travel.state.gov)link that will directly let you know if you are able to get a police clearance from countries. In some countries Police clearances are only available if they are physically in the country. I believe South Korea is one of them. Just click on the country and scroll down to where it says "Police Clearance", it will tell you if you are able to receive it if you are not physically in the country. If it does say that you can't get it. YOU MUST PRINT THIS PAGE OUT TO SHOW THEM AT THE EMBASSY, because for some reason some people at the Embassy don't know or DON'T CARE and will say that you need to get your police clearance when it clearly states that it is UNAVAILABLE IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE COUNTRY.

I hope this helps. My fiance wasn't able to get a police clearance and she printed out the COMPLETE PAGE where it states this.

    Good luck.

  8. I just wanted to ask if anybody knows the situation with Vermont? I am a July 2012 filer (K1 visa) and next week, according to my timeline I should hear something but i'm seriously not holding my breath. :/

I know there are probably several posts but I haven't been on here for a while.

It's so hard at the moment, like I know it is for others. My fiance hasn't seen his year old son since last March. It will be 6 months since hearing anything from my NOA1.

If anyone has any info, I would greatly appreciate.

    Thanks

    Sinead

I haven't heard anything. I am a July filer as well (July 23 NOA1). I have just seen on the USCIS website that it says VSC is working on June 4. I know that they have approved some July filers. I hope we get our NOA2s this month so we can all be with our loved ones as soon as possible. This waiting is very tough. Hang in there

  9. hello VJ members,

Im confused on these thing, what is legal capacity to marry that will get it in US embassy?im from philippines.. How to get this thing and what are the requirements to get it? any idea from you guys...

I know that one of their requirements is birth certificate, but my love have lost his birth certificate? he only have US citizenship certificate. He will get his birth certificate in Nigeria since he was born there in Nigeria? any idea of this VJ members? pls... is US citizenship okay already?

    Reply pls.thank you

Hi, it just means are you capable to do things that are legal. For example some people might not be mentally capable to make decisions for themselves. As long as you are an adult capable of this, you are fine.

    I hope this helps.

My fiance was born and raised in Davao.

  10. Hello VJ friends! My fiance and I are finally together here in Vienna to fulfill the requirement of seeing each other within 2 years. We are so happy to see each other again and spend New Year together. I have several questions on what to do next. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

    1. Can I file my K-1 FIANCE PETITION as soon as I arrive back in the US?

    2. Do I need to submit the Form I-134 or Affidavit of Support together with the K-1 fiance form?

    3. After submitting all the forms, what do we need to prepare for?

I would be so grateful to get helpful insights. Thank you for guiding me with this journey of petitioning my fiance.

Hi, welcome to VJ. Yes you can apply as soon as you get back to the US. That is what I did. The I-134 doesn't come until after you get your NOA2.

Here is a link on this website that will tell you step by step what needs to be done, it is under the "GUIDES" section. This website and its members have all of the answers you will need. Also look at the example forms to let you know how to fill out the forms. Please do not leave anything blank, either put NONE or N/A.

    Good luck to you

  11. I am from India and my fiance is from NY. we will be applying for K-1 visa soon. I want to know when should be the letter of intent to be submitted? will it be from my fiance side or from my side? and we are engaged since Aug,2011 should we mention about our engagement in the petition or keep it a secret so they don't consider our engagement as marriage? will our engagement proves make our case strong or weak?

Hi, the letter of intent to marry should come from both of you. Let them know that you are engaged and will marry within 90 days of arrival.

Here is the link for K1 Visa guide, it is very helpful. You can also go to the "EXAMPLE FORMS" to help you properly fill out the forms.

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

    I hope this helps.

  12. Thanks for the example! I am a little concerned when I looked at your timeline that it's been 6 months and you haven't got your NOA2 yet. I was under the impression that usually takes 2-3 months?

No, I wish, at one point CSC-California was getting some approvals in 3 months, but they have slowed down and VSC-Vermont is speeding up a bit, but the average is about 6 months. Try to be patient, it will get really stressful being away from your fiance. We are really hoping that we will get our NOA2 this month. Hang in there.

  13. Ok so I think I have everything done with our I-129F application except question #18, the explanation of how we met. I am not quite sure how verbose to be, I have heard everything from a paragraph to a full page is appropriate. Some examples/suggestions would be most welcome.

Our situation is made all the more interesting because we were originally introduced in the 1990's by a lady I rented an apartment from and who ran a small-time introduction agency on the side over 12 years ago (she stopped doing introductions long before the IMBRA was passed). We lost contact and then reconnected this year over the internet, the old sparks reignited and now we are engaged. But this does bring up the question of how to address our original meeting without tripping an RFE. I did speak to a immigration lawyer that said that question #19 does not apply in this situation so that's good but it's still difficult to know how exactly to answer question #18.

Hi, I would start with when you two connected about a year ago on the internet. List the date and the website, how often you to communicated to each other and what type of communications.

I have copied a portion of my description that I submitted. I hope it helps.

Question #18 of I-129F (Supplement) – Have your fiancé(e) met and seen you with the two-year period immediately preceding the filing of this petition?

    July 16, 2012

    To whom it may concern:

I, (Your name)met my fiancé, (fiance name) on the website (name of website) in (date), and we connected immediately. We both felt really comfortable with each other from the beginning. We talked to each other every way possible, SKYPE, YAHOO, telephone, email and text messages for hours each day and night. We also would send each other cards and gifts through the Mail. We fell in love with each other and we decided to meet each other in person, even though I have a fear of flying, nothing was going to keep me away from the woman of my dreams, no matter how many flights it would take to get there. Well two flights and 23 hours later I arrived in Manila, Philippines on June 30, 2012. We were so excited to see each other when we finally met at the Ninoy Aquino International Airoport, Manila, Philippines. We gave each other the biggest hug and sweetest kiss. We stayed one night in Manila before flying to her home on July 1, 2012. When we arrived in Legaspi airport, her entire family was there to greet us. I felt as if I had known her family for a very long time since I saw them on Skype and Yahoo almost as much as my fiancé. We then took a tricycle to their house where they had Posters welcoming me there. They made me feel so special, just like part of the family. I stayed at their home for the entire week I was there. We went to different places and she showed me many things about the Filipino culture, that I had never seen or known before. One of my favorite places was the Mayan Volcano, with the Perfect Cone. I proposed to my fiancé in front of her family and friends on July 2, 2012 and she happily said “YES”, making me the happiest man on the planet. Everyone there was so happy and excited for us. Her family is so happy to see that she is happy and loved by me.

The week went by so fast and we were both in tears when I had to leave on July 7, 2012. We are very excited about our future as husband and wife and having a family together and are eager to process this application so that we may be together as soon as possible to spend the rest of our lives loving each other.

    Thank you for reading.

    Sincerely,

    Good luck to you

Please refer to the GUIDES section of this website and click on K1, it will give you all the info that is needed and there are also examples of how to fill out the forms that are need.

  14. Hi everyone... I wanted to tell you all of my story for you maybe to identify any pattern that may seem wrong. Well, about 2 years ago I met the person who was supposed to be the love of my life after so much suffering in my life he came and lid up my life. He´s from Pakistan but living in UK (with student visa). Well, we met online through a site and after 4 months we decided to meet each other in person and he gave me half of the money for the ticket and I paid the other half. On that day I arrived to UK I swear my life was like a dream I was the happiest woman alive, I only stayed for 1 week cuz of work and we decided he was gonna go to my original country with me to start a life with me so 2 weeks after I came back he moved with me where he stayed for one month and a half and then said he wasn´t able to find a job so that made him take the decision to go back to UK. So, after that we decided applying for the fiance visa so I then moved back to the US and applied found a job and tried living on my own after so many years of not doing so. My father became sick so after that I decided I had to come back and move back to my original country cuz I´m the only daughter. After 8 months of not seeing him he sent me the ticket to go to UK for a visa of 1 month almost 2 and after 3 weeks of being there I found out I was pregnant which made him freak out and asking me to abort cuz it wasn´t the right time. Well, I came back before 2 months cuz I thought I was going to have high risk pregnancy. As soon as I got here he I asked him to come with me to my original country where he said he couldn´t live here because he didn´t like it which means he only wanted to live in NY, he also didn´t help economically or emotionally on anything making me cry every single day since I got back from UK. Not to long ago we received a notice stating he was going to be in background check which made him get weird with me and he stopped being the person I met where I also found out he was talking to other women.

I was tired of being stepped on and being treated as a second option to where I told him this would be the end between us, that everything he was doing wasn´t fair that the baby and I weren´t his priority. I know he asked me to abort and I shouldn´t have forgiven him for that but I actually thought he was going to change his mind but it wasn´t like that. Now, he is out of my life and here I am with my 20 week pregnancy and crying day to day and him not caring at all. I will send a letter to VSC to cancel this process because I ain´t going to be used in anyway. I´m sure it was long story but I wanted to share with all of you what happened to u. Everybody have a good life and good luck on their lives and I hope this 2013 will be blessed for all of you as it will be with me. BTW today I found out my baby will be a little baby boy not only bad news he was the best gift he could have given me.

Get rid of that loser. You and your baby are much better off without him. You will find someone that will treat you and your little baby so special. Keep your head up and don't lose faith.

  15. I can hardly breath i am sooooooooooo excited! I am sooooo happy, thank you LORD! i just check USCIS website to check our status and goshhhhhhhhhh i am not expecting that i will read this:

  16. Hi All,

I'm new to Visa Journey and seeking some (a lot of) advice, and you all seem to be incredibly helpful! My fiance (UK citizen) and I (US citizen) are in the early steps of planning his eventual move to the US. I'm currently in London on a tourist visa but going back home in about a month.

We're putting together everything for the I-129F fiance visa, and I have a few questions.

I wrote a brief (3/4 page) summary of when we met, dated, visited each other, met the families, got engaged, etc. and included footnotes that reference the "evidence" of our relationship (plane tickets, hotel receipts, photos). Should I submit this as the answer to question #18 of the I-129F, or as a separate part of the application? I'm trying to keep everything as organized and user-friendly as possible, but don't want to overload the application.

Also, re: the g-325, how do you know whether to include the g-325, or the g-325a? The two forms look exactly the same as far as I can tell.

    Thanks everyone!!

Hi, and congratulations on preparing to file your I-129F application. I wrote in "See Attachment Statement" on the I-129F form #18. I then wrote the description on a separate piece of paper and typed all of the details there.

It should be G-325A for each of you.

I hope this helps. Please refer to the Guides section of this website and click on K1 visa Guide. It has all of the information there that you will need.

    Good luck to you

  17. Hi everyone,

Well we got the dreaded news that Michelle's culture came back positive. Even though she does not have active TB, they discovered bacteria in her culture (probably contracted/inhaled it during OJT from nursing school). In any case, she has already started the 6-month meds treatment...every day at St. Lukes, Manila. So sad that we need to wait another 6 months to start our lives together but happy that she will be completely bacteria free!

My question for the VJ family is:

What do we need to do to extend the NOA 2 approval which expires next month, well before she completes the treatment? Does St. Lukes communicate to the Embassy, or is it up to us to apply for an extension.

    Thanks again,

    Michelle and Jeff

Hi guys, we are so sorry to hear that you must wait another 6 months to be together. I thought you two were already together and we were really surprised to read this. Keep your head up, we hope Michelle gets well very soon. Please keep us posted and Best Wishes.

  18. Hello!

I am about to file a Petition for Alien Fiance, I-129F, and wonder: How long with they keep my passport that I will send in with the application? What do you do if you need to travel before you get it back?

    Thanks!

Hi, you only need to send them a complete copy (every page, including the blank ones from front to back) of your passport. No need to send them you passport.

Look under the Guides section under K1 and it will tell you everything you need to do.

    Good luck.
