    Honestly, and without trying to be disrespectful, you should try to figure out what to do with your current situation- finding out that you have a child- and make sure that is taken care of. It's not your fault that you didn't know and whatever happened before can't be changed, but what you decide to do from know on is your responsability. If that kid is your child, then you are responsible for him/ her. Pal, you seem to have bigger issues now that meeting your russian girlfriend and getting her a visa. Kids first.
    Good luck.

    While I am not on the list at top of this post, PD June 4th approved Dec. 28th, they are working on June petitions for IR1/CR1 petitions at VSC. But I don't think we will see any really soild movement until the end of next week due to the holidays and vacation time when there is a short week like this one.
    Just my 2 cents. Best of luck everyone.

    Called today and they informed me that they have updated their system for VSC and they are now processing May 21st. They have progressed a week over the past month.

    I don't feel despair I just feel annoyed that the avg for the SC should reflect 6-7 months processing time not 5.
    I don't mind waiting, but I hate waiting an undetermined amount of time and not being able to get a straight answer when I am asking for the status on a service I paid for. Only another week and a half until our six month mark.

    Nothing against you for asking the questions but where is your spouse with you having all of these questions?
    I would think that since he lives in the region you will be moving too he would be able to answer these questions much better then strangers could.
    Also, regarding pension and what not you will want to start your own traditional IRA fund once you get a bank account and fund it every year along with contributing to your 401K, if you get one.
    You will have to discuss your benefits directly with your potential employer to get that information as it will vary way to much company to company for any of us to even fathom a guess.
    There are no guarantees implied or otherwise with getting or keeping a job here in the US! It is all 'At Will' employment and can be terminated at any given time without a reason.

    Congrats Cesar & Cata!!
    Hopefully we will be hearing something in the next few days. Our PD is June 4th!!
    But when I called they wouldn't let me put a SR in as they were supposedly 20 days behind.
    Looks like I should try again!

    Called USCIS today to file a service request as today is the 5 month 1 day mark. I was told that VSC is still working on May and it will be about 20 days till they get to my petition, PD June 4th.
    So, that's the skinny for now at least.
    Doesn't mean I may not get a response prior, just means they want me to leave them alone until then.
    Lady was really nice though.

    I am in the same boat with you. My case was received by the USCIS on January 22, 2012 at the VSC.
    5 months as posted passed, so I called them, and was told to give additional 30 days in order for the case to be considered outside the normal processing time. Waited 30 days - nothing, called again, was told that my case will be sent to an adjudicative office for expedited review, since it is now outside the normal processing times. 60 days passed -- nothing. I went for info pass at my local office, made me even more concerned for my case. I was told that because I filed I-129F (k3 visa) it could be the reason why my case is being delayed, since I-129F is only for fiancé. I was told this by an immigration officer at the local office. After I mentioned to him that I did not file I-129F for K-1, but I did it for K-3 and attached filing receipt for I-130, he had to look in his printouts to see what is K-3 visa. I was told that they cannot do anything, since my case is at the VSC, and I should write a letter to VSC. I laughter at their incompetence and went home.
    Called USCIS again once 60 days passed, I was told that I should hear back from them within 15 days, tomorrow 15 days are up, and still nothing. I also wrote an email to the VSC on the same day that I called. I found on USCIS website that if I don't receive a reply to my inquiry via email within 21 days, I can write to Office of Service Center Operations: SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov.
    I also contacted my congressman, and his office had submitted and inquiry on October 1, 2012, they still have not received a reply.
    This is what I had found on several sites, and I had compiled a list of things that could be done to get it moving. Hope this helps:
    Set up an Infopass Appointment;
    Call a Service Center and National Customer Service Center Directly;
    Contact Service Centers by Email;
    Contact Office of Service Center Operations: SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov if no reply received to email within 21 days;
    Place a Congressional Inquiry - congressman, if no luck, senator;
    Write to First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama;
    Mrs. Michelle Obama
    The White House
    1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
    Washington, DC 20500
    Contact CIS Ombudsman - http://www.dhs.gov/cisombudsman and the email address is cisombudsman@dhs.gov.
    Call FBI Fingerprint Line (if delay is based on the background check)FBI at 304-625-5590.
    Write to the Section Chief of FBI Name Check Program
    Mr. Michael A. Cannon, Section Chief
    National Name Check Program Section
    Records Management Division, FBI
    935 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20535
    Initiate FOIPA Request
    Last resort is to get an attorney and file a Writ of Mandamus - I researched this option too.... but to me it looks as a last resort option.
    DO NOT SUBMITT another set of papers, it will create much more issues then you have now. They might think that you have filed a fake application. I thought about it and spoke to a lawyer, he told me a NO NO NO..
    Hang in there. What was your filing date?

    Where in Jersey do you and your husband live?
    There is an SS office in Jersey off of the 66. You can go there and see if you can get more info. Also, have your husband talk to his bank, they may be able to open the accounts with just your passport and valid visa.
    Also, have your husband add you as a authorized user, at the very least, to his credit cards. This way you will have your own cards and have that to show at the interview at least. Have him add you to his medical benefits, as the beneficiary to his life/ADD insurance or 401K. A big thing is to start getting some mail in both of your names going to your home. Electric/Gas bills etc.
    Adding a line for you on his cell phone account is another easy win.
    I live in Jersey too! Just waiting for the wife...

    It will also show up as a touch when your petition has been assigned to someone or, in some cases, unassigned from someone. From what I have read and been told, it is common also that you may only see 1 touch the entire time your petition is being processed.
    Also, a very important one is TLA - This is a very common term that we all live by here.
    TLA or 'Three Letter Acronym' is what lets us speak in code so the USCIS officials don't know that we know what they are up to.
