  1. Hello everybody im back! Just had my interview yesterday Sept. 13 at 1:15pm... So my interview is 1:15p we are late because of my husband thinks he knows all the places and he dont wanna use a GPS so thats what happen we were late for about 30mins. We got there 1:44p, i handed my appointment letter and seated, 5 mins later a tall white man in he's 60's called my name i thought he forgave us for being late and he will interview us but when i came he said we were late for 30 mins and we should be there in time, but he is so nice he said that he will try to interview me if theres a free time but theres no guarantee that can happen cos he have to interview those people on time, he said if we cant wait or we can re schedule the interview, and my husband said we can wait.

I feel like crying because we were late and theres no guarantee that i can get an interview yesterday and that we have to re schedule for another day, so another stressing time for me, i dont wanna feel so stressed anymore, so while sitting im just saying a prayer hoping i can get through with this interview today. After 10mins of waiting thank God the IO called us back again for interview! yahooooooo!!!

The IO escorted us in hes office and asked for our ID's he took my passport and remove the I-94, he didnt asked us about our relationship, he just look on my birth certificate, our daughter birth certificate and the marriage certificate thats it and he said he's satisfied with our 4 yrs relationship with daughter together i am so shocked that our interview last for 5 mins only and i was approved! I am actually expecting a RFE cos i didnt have a medical exam with me cos im having trouble looking for cheap doctor so we went to the interview without I-693. And my vaccination record DS-3025 is 3yrs old and he accepts it. And also we only have apartment lease and pictures only but he never asked for those and that my I-130 is pending because i need to send my police cert form phils but til my interview day i havent get to send my police certificate cos i've been waiting for it in the mailbox that my sister sent 3 weeks ago and i havent get it yet.

I think my husbands job helped too cos he's pleased that my husband work for the state he is a correction officer. Overall it was a very easy interview, the IO is so nice, my husband and IO actually laughing but i dont know what there talking about cos im just filled with happiness knowing im approved. Yesterday around 6pm i got a email stating my case staus changed to decision "we had registered this customers new permanent resident status".

I am so happy all the stress are gone, i am happy im getting a 10 yr GC too. Thanks everyone in this forum for those who answers my questions and specially to our Almighty God just keep praying and be confident that everything will be alright. Goodluck to everyone who will go through this interview the interview is so easy you dont have to be stressed if u know your relationship is real then u dont have worry and u will get an approval soon.

CONGRATS abby..ssooo happy for you

  2. Hi guys. Update from interview is here.

We arrived about 15 minutes before our scheduled time, handed in our appointment notice and sat down and waited. We noticed there was a lot of folks. Many seemed really bored and like they had been there for a while. We particularly noticed a couple that went in before us, then they got separated, and finally the guy came out saying "I have bad news" with a noticeably sad expression… and they walked away. Not very comforting for a lot of us to witness. Anyway, after waiting for 1 and a half hour, I was about to see if there was any issues since it was taking so long. Just as I was about to ask, we were called.

We were lead into an office and were then told that the person handling our case was not in today, which was the reason for the delay. That the office was unusually busy today and they were scrambling. The interviewing officer mentioned that she was not familiar with the case but would go through the required steps. Although she tried to go through the process, it didn't seem that she was pleased to be there. She did not even swear us in. She constantly fumbled through the documents (with endless complaining about how "other staff" had not done their job organizing things adequately) flew past questions when we weren't even done answering and just told us to wait 30 days to see if anything else was needed. Thanks and good bye. That was it.

Honestly, I was once again disappointed by this local USCIS office. We had a previous experience when we went to ask about the RFE that we got and they were not helpful at all. (Some of you might remember my rant from that time). If there is something that I have learned from reading countless posts about interviews is that there are just too many factors that can have an impact in this long process. Apparently "Johnny" catching a cold is a big one.

Ultimately, I understand it wasn't this person's fault that someone "didn't' show up" - but seriously, you mean to tell us that this system in place, that is so extremely important to determine the livelihood of people, is SO fragile that if ONE individual does not show up there aren't any contingencies in place? staff is just re-organized THE SAME DAY and then just fumbles through such relevant work? Geez. It really makes you wonder why there aren't standardized procedures in place for all this. And if there are, why aren't they followed?

So the wait continues, hopefully before 30 days we hear something… :clock:

Any positive vibes you can send our way would be greatly appreciated. *sigh*

its not your fault if the assigned IO didn't show up but lets look for positive side hope and pray you'll received Welcome letter or GC within 30 days...

Did the IO give you any piece of paper or any update online???

  3. Expedited It worked! Interview for 10/17 Thank you lord

    Hi there!

I haven't come here in a while :( Congratulations to all of you who had successful interviews and received your green cards!!! *

I have a quick question. Did you have to surrender your EAD card at the interview? My interview is on September 17th and my first day of work is on October 1st. They asked me to bring proper documentation, so I need my EAD card if I haven't received my green card within these two weeks. I don't have the interview notice with me right now, so I can't check if they want me to bring my EAD card. What were your experiences with that? Thanks!

    IO didn't took my EAD...

I had my interview today and it went pretty well. The officer was very nice! He started asking us how we met and said it was ok for both of us to speak. Then, he asked my husband what was my name and DOB and the same question for me about my husband. He asked about my husband's job and asked if I had anything else for him. I gave him a few more documents like banks statements, health insurance, tax return for last year. He asked me those "NO" questions and my parents names. Then I asked if he would like to see our photo album and he saw ALL the pictures in it (about 100 pictures). We talked about some of them and he said everything looked good but it just needed to be reviewed to make sure everything was fine and that he was going to recommend our case for an approval. He also said that it could take 30 days for me to receive an approval letter in the mail + 90 days to receive my Green Card even though in most cases it arrives in 2-3 weeks. Hopefully I'll get an approval notice SOON! I didn't have any RFE or anything. We'll see...

Congrats...did IO give you any paper?? Did you check your online status if there's any update???
