Congrats!!!

I'm not sure about CEMAR, but CENOMAR, you can order online at https://www.ecensus.com.ph/Default.aspx
Then you go to BDO to pay the fee, and once it's paid, they will mail it to you. Ours only took about 4 days!

They may well ask you for 3 years of tax transcripts instead of just last years, as you are self-employed. I'm in the same boat, I had no W2s, just my tax transcripts, but I earn way over the poverty limit. I did have an employment letter from the company I do most of my work for, but it didn't list salary or anything, as my salary varies depending on what project I'm working on.
Anyway, just be prepared with as much as you have. No real point in writing yourself an employment letter. Just as long as you can show that you do, and will, earn in total above the poverty amount. Just be prepared to explain to them so they understand the structure of your corp.

You're slightly confused about one of Darren's posts? I'd be slightly confused if I ever WASN'T 'quite' confused at one of his posts...

I agree, it sounds much more that Darren's wife IS suffering from depression, and this isn't a communication error. But he wants to wear blinders and pretent, oh this is just because she's a simple girl who doesn't understand anything that is going on, and needs me to do everything for her.
Or maybe your wife needs help because she is suffering from depression! Nothing wrong with that at all too.

In many parts of the world, 'partner' refers to members of the opposite sex. I was confused by this when I moved to New Zealand. Everyone referred to their 'partners', and I thought, my god, there sure are a lot of gay people here
Without judging (although honestly if I lost my kid to SIDS, I still wouldn't break into a car, steal it, and lead police on a high speed chase). But anyway, yes, it might very well cause problems, or at least require a lot more paperwork and help from lawyers. Your fiancé is a convicted felon, it's going to be have repercussions.
And also, how do you know you want to marry someone you haven't even met in person!
Just be careful.

Well you can still respond ☺

Don't send those type of chats. The fear is that the CO will think your relationship is based purely on sexual things, and it comes off in a bad way. Everything I've read says to cross those things out, or just don't print those pages.

I would never use the post office. Does FedEx or DHL ship to Jordan? I would think they do. It's expensive, but you can track it, and for sure it will arrive.
-
The other class of offenses that will probably cause problems are violent offenses. If he's in jail for beating up his girlfriend for instance, pretty likely that this would cause problems.
Co-Sponsor will most likely be needed unless he makes 125% of the US Poverty Guidelines. If he's in jail, pretty unlikely he has any income.
-
Yep, will need from all three.
-
I think they will probably want to see the passport, but it certainly can't hurt to try.

In some consulates, the petitioner isn't even allowed in, so you should check. But no, only the beneficiary.
And no, not having a date won't matter either. We are in the same situation, we didn't plan yet our wedding, but we got our K1 no problem. Just tell them roughly your plan, like where you are thinking about getting married, etc. But they don't expect you to have dates yet!
-
Wait, what day did you enter the USA? Your I94 card would be dated 90 days from the day you enter. So you still have until the day before that day, to get married. So why are you saying you didn't get married in the 90 days? Your 90 days is not used up yet.
And yes, if your fiancé is claiming the prenup isn't ready yet, then something else is wrong. And yes, FIRE that attorney.
But you do know the 90 days starts the day you ENTER the USA right? Not the day your visa was issued back in your home country.
I'm thinking maybe you're unclear on that. So to be clear, please tell us the date you entered into the USA on your K1 visa.

It is pretty shocking that it happens EVER.

I don't understand, what advantage would there be to waiting until September, AFTER the passport has expired, to renew it? The passport is good for five years, so go ahead and renew if before August, and you'll still have five years. Of course the only rule is that the passport is valid for SIX MONTHS past the date you will use it. So if you renew now, her passport will be good for five years, and you wont' have to worry about it for a long time.
As her passport expires very soon, she is going to have problems! She needs to renew it as soon as possible!!!!

For a K1 visa all that is required is the NBI clearance, you do not need local police clearance. I wouldn't imagine this is any different for any other type of visa. FYI my fiancé went ahead and got clearance anyway, from Manila and Zamboanga police. They were never looked at or asked for. Only NBI.

Here is the info I found on the web about clearance certificates from Singapore. You can obtain without going back there. Also, always a good idea to go the Singapore embassy where you are, they should be able to help and explain the process. But here is what it says:
Certificate of Clearance
Available.
For all applicants, a form letter from the requesting/processing office (NVC, KCC, Embassy, employer etc.) is required to obtain a Certificate of Clearance (COC). Such letter should specify the need for the clearance and state explicitly that "a statutory declaration of no criminal conviction by the applicant is not acceptable as evidence that he/she does not have criminal convictions". The COC will be sent directly to the requesting/processing office.
Applicants residing in Singapore are to appear in person at the COC Office located at Blk D Police Cantonment Complex, #02-07/08, 391 New Bridge Road , Singapore 088762. The office is open from 8.30am to 12.30pm , Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
Applicants residing overseas should submit their applications (original) addressed to: Head Criminal Records, CID ( COC ), Blk D Police Cantonment Complex, #02-07/08, 391 New Bridge Road , Singapore 088762.
Processing time for each application is about 10 working days.
Processing fee is S$45.00 per application. Payment can be made by cash, NETS , cash card, or credit cards (VISA/MASTERCARD) for walk-in application. Application sent by post (from overseas) must be accompanied by a bank draft made payable to 'Head Criminal Records CID ' through a Singapore-based bank. In addition to the processing fee, a postage fee of S$5.00 must be included in the payment (total S$50.00) if the COC is to be mailed. Payment is non- refundable once the application is accepted.
All applicants must complete the Certificate of Clearance application form available athttp://www.spf.gov.sg/faqs/doc/coc_appform.pdf in full and submit it with the necessary supporting documents:
- A set of applicant's fingerprint impressions (ten prints). Applicants applying in person will be fingerprinted at the COC office at the time of application. For application by post from overseas, the applicant must submit a set of his/her fingerprint impressions taken by a qualified Fingerprint Officer at a Police Station or an authorized office of the country he/she is now residing.
- A photocopy of applicant's valid passport (showing biodata page).
- Two recent passport-sized photographs. Instant photo machine is available outside COC Office for applicants who appear in person (cost: S$7, approx. USD5.50, for 4 passport size photos).
- Photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration authority/government bodies or other requestor to establish that the certificate is required by such authority and that a statutory declaration of no criminal conviction by the applicant is not acceptable as evidence that s/he has no criminal convictions. All documents are to be translated into English if written in other languages.
Please refer to http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/cert_issued.htm or http://www.spf.gov for further information and updates on Certificate of Clearance from Singapore.

You should prepare yourself that you might not convince the CO without a Co-Sponsor, but research if they are accepted much by your embassy. For instance, in the Philippines, co-sponsors are almost never accepted. A letter from your employer won't do much good. They'll look at the paycheck stubs first. But as part of it, you're required to submit the previous year's tax return. Since you didn't file, you're going to have to explain that. And I'm afraid that doesn't look very good.
-
I earn quite a bit more than poverty level, I didn't list a single asset, just my previous three years tax returns. They never asked for anything else.
-
While not required, self-employed people tend to be put under more scrutiny I'm told. I read that people had been asked to supply three years returns for self-employed. I can't say it's 'required', only what I read. I'm self-employed, so I sent three years returns. I can't say if they looked at them, but I believe so. They took all of it from my fiancé.
I'm not trying to scare you, not my intent. But you should know what you might be in for for sure. I hope you have no issues!
-
Also, if they DID check, I'm sure they would really only be checking to make sure your passport number matched the receipt. You should be fine. If they find it, pretend that you never noticed! I can't imagine it would be a problem. I think they did ask to see our receipt, but I'd have to double check with my fiancé.

The Philippines is the same way, and I think it's fair to say that Ghana treats regions the same as we treat States or Provinces. As long as they can understand the address is really all that matters.
Cenomar?

Unfortunately you'll have to go to the NBI in person, you cannot do it online. Some people have gotten it back the same day. Just FYI, ours took 3 weeks to get back. Not sure why the difference. But you shouldn't expect it to be as easy as the CENOMAR.
By the way, that same site is where you can order official NSO Birth Certificates. You're going to need that too, and in fact, you'll need them at various times. Others here have recommended getting 5 or 6 at the same time, so you'll always have them.
I just ordered four more for my fiancé online from there.
