  1. As most of you know we moved into our new home April 26th. For the first time in a while, we got a landline phone in case of emergencies, and ditched our cell phones were were 120$ a month for a 25$ month home phone. Seemed like a good idea at the time until we started getting calls from creditors and sales people etc, for the old people who had the number and from companies who bought a list from our Bank. Needless to say putting our name and number on the do not call registry did not help, telling these laywers creditors etc that the people they are looking for do not own this number anymore did not help. telling companies to not call again and remove us from their list did not help, so we got ATT to change our home number.

Fast forward to now and lo and behold its starting AGAIN! so i call up att only to be told they cant block half the numbers because they are being blocked by illegal computer software to change the number and not display the true identiy of the callers. We get at least 10 of these calls aday, the most recent are ones that dont even say a word its just dead air.

So after being told there is nothing att can do other than change the number again i have to go to the police. YEP thats right! ATT can't do anythign even though we have an unlisted number, have complained multiple times, tried to get calls blocked, and have been on the DNC registry. So today i called the cops, and a really nice Irish cop came to my door (loved his accent) and he was surprised ATT said they could not do anything! "usually we just call att and have them take care of it"...really..weird cuz the super told me they can't. UGH.

anyway i dont know what to do now..i'm so annoyed..that this is happening. its a huge pain to change the number again and wait again for the DNC registry to kick in since its a 30 day wait. And to notifiy soooo many people of the new number.. The officer mentioned Vonage to me..said that might be an option if i did not want to go back to a cell phone, ( i told him we cancelled it cuz we werent sure how it worked with 911 since our town is in two diff counties, not to mention the huge bill it was at the time).

Blargh! I can't recall ever havign this much issue with phone calls in Canada with an unlisted number. I mean jeez its so many hoops i have to go through to make sure i dont get theses annoying calls..OH and dont forget removing listings from search pages with google yellowpages etc!

I just had to vent..cuz its stupid att can't do anythign and wants me to have the police do their job for them..GRRR! Having to call them for this is retarded..even i know their time is better spent elsewhere!

Hi, I had the same problem and I will not change my number. I am on the DNC Reg and have more than once told the people not to call back. To no avail, so I bought a air horn and when I am sure someone is there I ask very nicely do you hear me? And then I tell them I have asked many time to be put on their do not call list and then I give them a nice long BLAST of air horn. Guess what no more calls from them. You may not want to scare someone with this method but it works for me;))

  2. I don't understand!!

You say they are working on the 6th February, but I have seen people's timelines from VSC people have been approved after my NOA1 date of the 24th February ??!?!?!

You know the old party line saying, that's just read from a sheet by the operator. If you go back a few pages in this thread you will see that "we're working on the 16th of Jan" this went on quite awhile until here the last couple of days they are on the 6th of Feb. and in a couple of weeks it will change again to maybe 22 Feb, who knows???? Good luck to all of us "we need it"

  3. How's everyone holding up? I was sick earlier this week and am still trying to get back up to speed. So sorry to see people still waiting. Depressingly, guess what comes after NOA2? MORE WAITING. And if someone complains about post-NOA2 waiting when you're still awaiting NOA2, you think to yourself (I know *I* did!), "Oh, that won't be so bad! Because at least at that point, things are HAPPENING! So I won't mind *that* kind of waiting: just THIS kind." But after NOA2, there's plenty more uncertainty and time spent in limbo with both of you getting progressively more anxious and feeling as though nothing will ever move forward again at all and there are still a gazillion steps to go before you are together or can even see each other. And all of this comes when you are too tired to handle any of it with even a fraction of the grace and patience you had buckets of lying around back in February. Chins up, everyone! We will make it!

Hi Joy, sorry your were under the weather but glad to have you back. I sure am glad to have your graph to look at 4-5 times a day. Tanya asks me every afternoon on Skype what happened last night on Joy's graph. So I sent her the link. She speaks good English but does not read it very well but she is an IRS Inspector for her country and understands graphs LOL We pasted the 6 month mark on Monday and I called on Tuesday. I was told that they were working on the 6th of Feb and I could not file a service request until they were working on 28 Feb. But as I said your graph is a small light at the end of a very looooooong tunnel. Thanks again for your work. Ron

  4. this is Driving me crazy did anyone get there NOA2 yet im a fed 29 12 filler today make me 6month i dont know what to do the last time i called on 10th of this month they told me they was on fed 27

Hi, sorry that you are waiting so long. We are 27 Feb and I called yesterday and was told that they were working on 6 Feb. So hopefully it will be approved in the next couple of day. Keep you spirits up))) Ron

  5. Hey Ron,

I did inquire about suing the USCIS but apparently it is quite expensive and it can take up to 6 months for them to make a decision.

So for now I am just going to continue to wait and call intermittently to the 1800 number to hear some more people tell me what I already know.

I think the USCIS is by far the biggest bureaucracy on the planet and I am just a gnat trying to get someone's attention.

    It is ridiculous.

Molly, I am retired from the Military and the Federal Government (Homeland Security) and I am ashamed of the way you are being treated as well as others. There has to be a fail safe mode somewhere?? I would be calling and writing the congressman who got you the expedite and let him know just how much pull he (doesn't)really have. This will shake a congressman up, and just maybe he will bring thunder down on them this time. I wish you good luck and a speedy approval. Ron

  6. Hi Ron,

I posted a little earlier in this feed about my saga so far. I have placed numerous cervice requests, called congessman (actually got approved to be expedited). I called last week and I have emailed a few times.

The last reply from USCIS told me to wait an additional 6 months. At which point I did want to get in my car and drive directly through the front doors of the vermont service center. Meanwhile Joe is losing his marbles in England!

We don't know what else to do.

My basal levelof frustration and irritation is not healthy!!

i will keep you guys updated.

Molly so sorry to hear all this BS with you. I am new here but read in the last 5 months a lady who wanted to sue USCIS and a pretty big discussion was held. If I remember right you can sue them and I am not sure what it is called but the suit is only that the court makes them make a decesion (sp) I don't spell well either! Look thru the threads or maybe some one reading knows what I am talking about. Again good luck, Ron

  7. Mary hilarious!

What is not so hilarious is your 200+ day wait but you are not alone. I filed in November and I am still waiting.

I can't even call the service center because I lose my cool when I tell them I have been waiting for 10 months and there is radio silence on the other end of the phone.

I am beside myself with frustration.

I mean I think all of those people working at the service center should just start processing applications because they are sooo useless doing what they do now! purposeless jobs!

Anyway I hope you hear very soon.

Dear Molly, please share with us what you have done so far to move VCS off their pot? I can not believe that you are so calm. Have you contacted you congressman or senator?? I can not even think how I would be acting if I was in your shoes. They would have to come and bail me out of jail or I think I would be in Vermont. I wish you all the luck. Ron
  8. I'm the one that's been checking/updating them the most and I uhh.. get a little unmotivated after checking feb 1-21 so only check those later numbers every few days. I'll check them more often!

Thank you for your effort, I don't know how or have the time to check the numbers. I think it great that different people check the numbers and pass the info along. At least we are hearing something no matter how small or large. I am like a drowning man grabbing at any straw, lol but thanks for your input and effort. Ron

  9. Be my guest! I just created columns for the missing dates so if you find any #s you will have somewhere to put them. Last night I spent a ridiculous amount of time looking for I-129Fs in the gap between 2/15 and 2/21 and didn't come up with much. I stopped at EAC1290454100, having gone by 10s from EAC129044something. It's easy to see why most of the numbers we have came from clusters around VJers' petitions: there's an awful lot of empty space between the I-129Fs.

Hey Joy, your still doing a great job "THANKS" I was looking at the graph and I wonder why it is that everyday in Feb that is on your graph, there is movement except 27th someone posted the other day (from England) that their NOA2 was approved and they had a date of 27 Feb. I believe? But still there is no movement at all on the 27th any ideas? Or maybe VSC doesn't like me:)Thanks for any imput. Ron

  10. The thing is, I haven't really checked out how it will affect my tax status if I "resign" from my town. I will still have to do the tax report for this year, no matter what. I thought I might just hand it in for the time till I left, but maybe there is really a possibility to be taxed in Germany even though I am living in the States already. I will keep my German bank account, but I won't be living in Germany anymore and I won't be registered as someone who is living in Germany anymore. I would be taxed like every other German if I would leave for just a couple of months. Because then I would still be registered in Germany. With the k1, nope. I also will have to unregister in order to end my cell phone contract and stuff like that, so not unregistering is not an option.

Having lived in Germany many years, I know a German National is taxed on world wide income. So is your pay goes to a German bank account you are being paid in Germany and it does not concern the States yet. Check with your tax person he will know. I think as long as you are not taking a job away from an American in the US and not drawing pay from a company in the US it does not concern the US.

    Good luck, Ron

  11. Oh yay!!!! I just talked to NVC, and they told me that our petition was shipped to Nairobi yesterday! Hooray! I am SO relieved that the "additional processing" status on Friday didn't turn out to be a problem.

Everyone still waiting is in my thoughts, and garlicknots, I would totally sign that petition. There has to be a better way.

Joy, are you still running the #s you were running? If so would you send me a new copy so I can see some movement.

    Thanks, Ron

  12. Received NOA1 June 7th and just got email/text saying NOA2 approved on August 18th for my fiance from Belarus! Only 72 days! Was concerned about petition getting sent to CSC instead of VSC because VSC was previously faster. Now after reading all the troubles and long wait for VSC, glad ours got sent to California! Even after a little over 3 months since Tatiana and I last met, it seems like forever just using email, sms, and skype to chat. Can't imagine those who have waited much longer than I. Hope everyone else's gets processed fast as well, waiting is definitely tough. Will be flying out to Belarus in October to ask her mom for her hand in marriage before she leaves. Hopefully shortly thereafter, she'll be here in my arms with me! Cheers!

Congrats, glad to hear that at least someone has good news from this process. I filed in Feb for Tanya and Monday next week will be 6 months. No word no REF's we have a lot of heart sick people. Anyway good luck to you and yours and hope everything else runs as smooth and fast. Ron

  13. Ron, her passport will be good to use for the Schengen visa until July of next year so yes, the interview will not be a problem. She should be in the states by then but our concern is if we decide to travel to Europe before she is a US citizen, she will not be able to use the passport she has now. Renewing it is easy enough but we are unsure if doing it in the middle of this process would cause a problem with USCIS,NVS or the embassy in Warsaw seeing that she already has the old passport number on file with my petition.

Gary, just got off Skype with Tanya. She looked up the requirements and her passport was also issued in July 2003. She does not want to get a new one because her entry stamps for places we were together is in it and like you her # is in all the paper work. I looked at her passport and it looks like mine as far as being able to read electronicly. So I guess we are ok. If I hear different I'll let you know.

    Ron

  14. I think I found the answer. http://eeas.europa.eu/delegations/belarus/eu_travel/visa/index_en.htm

Q: What are the criteria for the travel document (passport) submitted for a Schengen visa?

A: It shall satisfy the following criteria:

    (a) its validity shall extend at least three months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States. However, in a justified case of emergency, this obligation may be waived;

    (b) it shall contain at least two blank pages;

© it shall have been issued within the previous 10 years.

Gary, as an after thought will her passport be valid for her interview in Poland? She will need a Schengen Visa to enter Poland. Let me know how it works out. Ron

  15. Question 1....Does my fiance need to get her birth certificate aposttilized or will a simple translation work?

Question 2....Her passport expires in 2022 but it will be 10 years old next year in July. She has told me at that time she won't be able to use it for European travel anymore and is wondering if she should renew it now or wait until after she gets her visa or no need to renew at all?

    Thanks in advance.

Hey Southerman, hope you enjoyed your vacation. I called the State Department and an Apostile is not needed on any of our paper work. A certified translation is needed Tanya also had all her translated paper work Notarized just in case. I know a lot of the RUB people think an Apostile is needed and is needed in other countries but not the USA. I am not sure about the passport, why would she not be able to use it in Europe if it is still good for 10 more years?

    Good luck, Ron

  16. Thank you so much for the response yes that is what we are doing now to move back in my country to have a peace in our marriage i and hubby is doing good together it is just the people that surrounds us made us so stress opinion here opinion there, thats why we have this issues because husband is selling the house here and his adult children doesnt want to sell the house here..yes i got my SSN and GC here,i came here as a spouse visa.i really felt bad they want me to feel like i am the cause of the family arguments specially about selling the house even before i arrived here husbands wants to sell the house and live in my country, how i wish i knew this before that he has this type of family i would never came here.but now i will never let them win i will stand stood for my husband no matter what. seems like we are a prisoners or no rights to be happy just wants us to listen to all their opinions and for us we are not allowed to say anything because they are the right one we are wrong....

Good for you, you stick to your guns. Please understand you are an outsider and have taken someone's father away. And they are afraid you will talk your husband into selling the house and leaving with what they (children) think is theirs. Also you live in a so called rural state (show me) and believe me you will have to show them. Show them that you are better than they are by not causing trouble, what ever they say go along with it to their face. What you really do is up to you and your husband. I have seen this type thing in the past. An uncle married a lady from overseas and the whole family was hell bent on not excepting her. It took a long time but she won the family over, it was hard for her I am sure but she became a very beloved member of the family. Your rights are not being trampled on just your feelings, I am sure they do hurt. It is very hard for a lot of Americans to accept an outsider even if its an American, they are afraid of what they don't understand. So chin up and act like a duck and let it roll off your back. Good luck

  17. Having worked in and for the US Government most of my life and I ran across someone with your attitude I would slow down also as most Government people around the world would do. I read your first thread and now this one and it seems two different people are doing the writing? I may be wrong (have been once before) but I would chill out and save my money before shelling out to a lawyer. Your still a guest here yes we make mistakes like any other country. But if we're so wrong then why do you want to stay? I read what you have written and maybe USCIS did make a mistake, but the way you write raises BIG RED FLAGS to me. Chill out and wait your turn.

  18. Affidavit of support i-864 for filing a IR-1/CR-1, what are the restrictions on type of income?

I am going to list military retired pension and Veterans Compensation disability pay. I know SSDI is not acceptable, anyone have insight on this?

Does it have to be from a actual working job?

Who has a job when they are a permanent resident overseas?

    Thanks :)

From what I understand any income you receive is OK. Military retired pay, Social Security, anything you receive were you get a w-2 or 1040 is good to go. No matter if you have to pay taxes on it or not. Good luck and thanks for your service.

  19. Even if you get married, chances are his insurance will not cover your pregnancy because it is a pre-existing condition. If you're not planning to get married right away you are best served by returning to your home country so he could apply for a fiancée visa when you decide to marry, knowing that your overstay may delay the process. If you want to marry right away, you can also return home after the wedding and he can fill out a petition for you to return to the US as a legal permanent resident.

Staying in the US with your expired I-94 renders you in the category of illegal immigrant, which is not a good idea, especially if you're pregnant.

I wish you well whatever decision you make.

If I understand correctly he is in the military? If so his medical (TRICARE) will take care of all medical needs. Get married quick and do all the needed paper work.

  20. I have filed the K-1 I129F fiancee visa I am now in the decision stage. I had to resign from my employment due to a workmens comp settlement. I made well over the required financial requirement, however now I am unemployed, Unable to perform the weight barring duties required in construction. I was denied social security disability benefits. I own a home with no mortgage payments. and I hear Manila does not approve co-sponsors. can anyone advise me of options? will it help that i own my home without a mortgage? I'm afraid I will not find gainful employment in time to meet the financial requirement. please help! P.S. can a church sponsor me? or a friend? or can I have more then one sponsor? thank you for all feedback in advance,

    kind regards.

Hi, I do not know the amounts but I believe 5x the poverty rate for your house hold size or assets equal to that. I have read here and on the USCIS.gov site that your house is an asset but it must be appraised and so forth. Do a little digging and if you morgage is paid and worth enough you got it covered. Good luck

  21. Have your parents check with their local travel agency. They should be able to purchase travel insurance a LOT cheaper than any insurance. I lived in Europe and purchased it myself when traveling to the US and other countries and it was far cheaper than the insurance I must now purchase for the love of my life when she comes here later this year. Good luck
