  1. I have a friend who wants to open a business here and employee a few Americans. But his main reason to do this is to obtain a green card. He has been told by his lawyer it is possible to do. I am not so sure? Does anyone have info on this and how it would work? Thanks for any info. He wants to stay legal in all things. So please keep this in mind. I am not sure where to put this so please direct me to the right place if this is not it.

  2. Hi, you will need to straighten up your taxes. All Americans world wide must file taxes. If you have not earned any money since you last filed I think you will still have to file? I would contact the Embassy in Madrid and ask them how to catch up. If you made no or very little money while there I don't think it will be a very big problem. Also if you paid taxes in Spain you will get credit for that.

    Good luck

  3. Boiler, I normally go along with your answers, but this time I do not. I lived in Europe for a large number of years and to get a job there my employer had to prove I didn't take a nationals job away. We should also live by that rule. I do not think it right that someone comes in this country and for the sole purpose of taking away someones job just because they will except lower wages. I beleive this loop hole will be changed and I for one will not visit Disney and will contact my congressman concerning this. There are allready concerns on this subject if not it would not be a 1000 person lottery a year. If no concerns there would be no limit.

  4. This has been brought up in the RUB section and I am not 100% sure how this works. Get tickets in married and enter Belarus with maiden name, leave Belarus on maiden name enter US on married name? My wife plans to enter thru Moscow and then travel to Minsk and back the same way as she has been told they don't check in Russia and the border is open. Not sure this helps but as I said before there is a long discussion in the RUB section. After her travel please post something so we all will know what to expect,.

  5. Yes, of course they can charge what ever you will pay. Most of the Visa help places that I have contacted on the internet were not lawyers. I had some problem with my paper work and used one of these places and everything went just as they said it would smoothly. But if you have nothing that would cause a big red flag you don't need these places. The good people on VJ are all more than glad to help you if needed. So save some money and do it yourself.

    Good luck,

    Ron

  6. Hi we need a little help please. My mother in law is planning on a visit to the our Florida home and must travel to Moscow from Belarus. She will arrive by train at the Belorussky Station (train) at about 0840 and must go to the US Embassy. Can someone please tell us how far this is and how long it will take to get there? We understand they only interview until 1030 mornings so if she has to far to travel to make a early appointment can someone please advise a clean hotel or place to stay for a elderly lady that has a small budget?

    Thank everyone for their help.

  7. This may sound stupid, after reading all the reply's and then reading your last answer. I just wonder on proof of meeting did you send any pictures of the two of you together with dates on them? You sent in a lot of things showing you were possibly in the same area but without a picture the clerk at USCIS has no idea if you met or not.

And you really do not need a lawyer to do this paper work.

  8. Hi again, what was the cost of the singapore ticket? I got one direct from Moscow to Miami one way for $810, we want to bring the Mom over in Oct for a few months and we see round trip ticket Minsk-Moscow-Miami just under $1200.

I looked singapore airlines and it operated by Virgin and goes thru Heathrow the death trap of airports and the flight is over 19 hours just to Miami. Check the Aeroflot or Transaero you might come out better.

    Good luck, Ron

  9. It states plainly in the info about how to fill out forms on the USCIS site that you can translate all documents yourself. It also shows how and what to write at the bottom of each page. You do not need the expense or hassel of sending it out to have it translated, let your man do it. Also check just last week someone posted this same question and a link was given for the USCIS site. Good luck!

  10. Do not worry there is no interview for VWP people just stand in line for passport control and go forward when its your turn. They will have someone there who speaks German and Italian(on the same flight) so don't worry and tell them to not worry or lie to the officer. Having come in and out of our country a couple of hundred times at least I have never seen where a customs or immagrations official could not be understood or did not understand who he was talking to.

    GOOD LUCK AND DON"T WORRY

  11. We would like to bring my wife's mother her for a 5-6 month visit. She is in her early 60's and would have to either go to Warsaw or Moscow to the US embassy. She is married and has other children in Belarus also an apartment that is hers. She does not speak Polish and has not done any traveling outside of her country. So we think that going to Moscow is a better option for her, but a long hard expensive trip for her alone.

Has anyone from Belarus brought thier inlaws here that were under 70 years old? Please let us know which embassy you used and what all was required?

  12. WOW some of the things people think?? When a airline is checking in passengers TSA does not have time to look at the bag tag to see who it belongs to. The only time your bag is searched is when the xray can not determine what an item is. Then the bag is opened and item looked at. Guns are legal to carry in checked bag as are other weapons. Now a bowling ball will cause your bag to be opened as the xray can not see thru it. GET THE PICTURE?? So if you are carrying something that shows up on the screen obpeke it will be searched and looked at.
