Today I called USCIS and requested to speak with Tier 2 since my service request has past 30 days with no response. It was absolutely useless as the rep was completely negative from the minute she got on the phone. She told me that you can not rely on the website touches because it does not register everything they do even though it says it has not been touched since feb 21 and to keep on waiting. I have scheduled an info pass appointment for October 4 to speak with an officer in person and maybe I will get more useful information there. I also have a congressional inquiry that is only 20 days of 45 days and I hope something comes through soon as I am at 215 days now.
Sorry to hear your problems, I am 10 days behind you. I talked to a supervisor on Tuesday this week and he agreed with me that I was over time and he would make a service request and I should hear in 10 days. What is the difference between service request and info pass? Should I call back and ask to speak with an officer? What has your congressman told you? Good luck and thanks for any info. Ron

Hey Ron,
I'll be praying for you, it must be hard to keep faith! But hang in there, our NOA1 was filed just a couple of days before you and we received our NOA2 21 days ago. I can only hope you're on the right pile now!!!
Best of luck!!!!
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, I am trying to keep the faith but its very hard at the moment. Ron

Hi all Feb filers, well next week will be 7 months((( I checked Igor's list and out of the 15 approvals 9 were March. It seems that VCS has forgotten the rest of Feb filers. I have a service request in but I really have lost all faith in my government that they will speed anything up. I have no RFE's or no word of any kind. Next week I will contact my congressman which I know before hand it will be useless. We had planned a beach wedding for end of Sept or beginning of Oct. Now I think we will have to rethink things. Just venting as I can not be heard any where else. Just keep your fingers crossed for us and I hope all the rest of the Feb filers have a quick approval. Ron

thanks for the reply guys. That's horrible though
Feb. 27th and you still haven't heard back??? I wish you the best of luck as well.
What I am confused about though is that I've seen others from March in vermont receive there NOA2. I am still a bit confused on how all this works!!
I really hope they start speeding things up a bit. Cuz this waiting period is just ridiculous! Good luck to all of you. My prayers are with you all.
It is hard for everyone to understand, even the ones working at VCS))There is no rime or reason why they jump around you can call 5 times a day and get 5 different answers. One thing we all (VJers) are helping each other with info and part of this is time lines, please fill all you times and that gives other a little help and hope. Plus at the bottom of your time line Igor will estimate your approval time. Good luck

Hello everyone,
I've been following this forum for a few months but it's my first time posting. I had a question. What's going on with the Vermont Center? I used to hear that it's the fastest processing center and got really excited when my papers were processed there. Now looking at the chart it says next to the processing time Feb. 27, 2012. Does that mean they haven't processed any since that date or that they are now working on the papers that they received around that date? They received my papers mid May so it's now been about four months. I was hoping I'd be hearing from them soon but after seeing that chart last night I got very disappointed
I am just wondering if anyone here is in the same boat. If you've forwarded your papers to Vermont around the same time and if you heard back from them yet? This waiting period is killing me
Thanks to anyone for replying.
Hi, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, my date is 27 Feb and I got to file a service request on Tuesday this week. They told me I was just out of time frame and I would hear something back in 10 days. Go to the Feb filers thread and you will get an idea. I wish you good luck and a quick approval but I think 6 1/2 months is not out of the question.

my wife for her interview is thinking of taking a train, does anyone know how far is the train station is to the embassy
I hope you are aware you wife will have to spend at least one night in Warsaw? Ron
-
Hi Ron - this is exactly what we did - spoke to an officer who agreed we should have a service request filled out. We received our NOA2 late in the evening of the 7th day following this. No idea if it's connected or if it was just our 'turn' but good luck
Thank you for the heads up, no way it should take this long. Checking Igor's list they are deep into March filers. This system sucks. I wish all those waiting have a speedy approval and a wonderful home coming for their loved ones. Ron

I wondered does the exam have to be in my wives home country
we have thought she has family she can visit and stay with in moscow
but she would have to travel to minsk and more than likely spend the night in a hotel,
can she go to the approved doctor In moscow or does it have to be Minsk?
Thank you ahead of time
The best I can understand is she has to use the Doctor in Minsk, I have seen this asked for other countries and it has been answered "use only the Doctor on the embassy web site. Which would be Warsaw for us. Good Luck Ron

Sorry to hear that Ron. It really seems they are working on March petitions and just don't want to answer why so many Febuary petitions have not been "touched". I really feel bad for everyone waiting this long to hear something and already telling myself and Tamara it may take 7 months or longer for us too. Oh well, what doesn't kill us.....lol. Give me a call when you hear something.
Thanks Gary, yes its been and still is a rough and rocky road. But I get gettin high hopes every morning and hope today is the day. I'll give you a call in a couple of days. Ron

Hello and good morning
. My fiancee Lilly and I are only about a month away from approval (hopefully) of her visa and she asked me a question. She has several friends that live here in the US and asked if it was possible to take a detour upon her arrival. Not long only two days with her childhood friend in NY then catching flight to Atlanta where I'll pick her up. Is this a bad idea or nothing to worry about? My fear is Uncle Sam might try to call within first couple days to ensure she is here with me and no fraud has occured. Any advice would be welcome and thanks
Well I have some good news and some bad news(( Once she has arrived she can travel where she wants in the US. Now the bad news I am at 205 days and not a word from Vermont. It seems that it is taking quit a bit longer than the advertized 5 month time frame. I wish you two luck and a fast approval. But think more in the time frame 6 1/2 months.

Well, a new day a different story. I reached the 200 club 5 days ago and still no word from Vermont. I called last Thursday and was told they were working on 6 Feb (my date 27 Feb) and I should call back when they are past working on my date. "you are still in your timeline". So I called back Friday and they told me they were working on 27 Feb and to call back on Monday. I thought I would give them an extra day and called this morning. I was told they were working on 27 Feb and should call back later in the week. I demanded to speak to 2 level supervisor, the lady said it could be a couple of hours wait. I told her no problem I am retired and can and will wait. A recording came on and said I should be waited on in 2-3 minutes. Guess what I was! A nice guy agreed with me it was out of time limits and he would file a service request and I would hear back within 10 days. He took all my info and email address. So hopefully he was serious and something will happen. I have seen nor heard of any movement on us Feb filers in the last week. I hope other people are getting approved. Good luck to all Ron

I really hope that seeing the Emabssy has shutdown in Tunis because of the protests doesnt affect those who have applied for Visa's in this Country.... Damn that idiot for making that movie.... just saying
it is disrespectful to the Muslim community
The people of these rioting countries asked for FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY, we sent our sons and daughters to give it to them, they got it and don't know how to handle it. Shame on YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone said on Friday that they had been checking the numbers and quite a few on the 27 Feb got approvals or RFE's I checked Igor's list and only one approval and it was not for 27 Feb, does anyone think there will be a lot of approvals tonight like it was a couple of weeks ago? I am so tired of waiting as I am sure all the rest of you are(( Good luck to us all. Ron

Hi Thanks your reply. SO , the beneficiary has to have a physical copy of interview letter ? or the email can be printed out? And how do they normally mail out the physical copy of letter? USPS or express carrier?
thanks
I know you would get a lot more help if you filed a timeline. That is what helps us all. Good luck
-
I was running many numbers with NOA1 of 2/27 as mine. They are done with almost %98 of total Feb. 27th filers. Today, one applicant of 2/27/12 got RFE, 3-5 filers are still under initial review. My feeling is that they'll try to finish them all by the end of today. So, If i were you, i would highly expect something by the end of today.
Good luck and don't be panic if you get RFE. For some reason, most of 2/27 filers got RFE, including mine.
I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you so much for the good words, I don't think I will get a RFE but we never know. Good luck to us all.

Called VSC yesterday and was told they were working on 6 Feb and because my date was 27 Feb I could not file a request. So I called back today and the very nice lady informed me they were working on 27 Feb and she also could not file a request because she could not override the system. But I should call back on Monday and I could then file a request. I am sure feed up with my government, I had a lawyer who helped me with all the paper work and he was great, after talking to him yesterday I understand a little more about the process. He beliefs that they hold the K-1 visa apps on purpose. And I am beginning to believe that also. I wish everyone waiting a quick approval and happy landings in the US.
-
I honestly think they make up the rules as they go along. But don't worry, I'm sure your approval is coming soon and you won't need a service request!!
Thank you, if you read the next one after yours to me, they were told they are working on 27 Feb, another case of our government does not know its elbow from its toe nail, or something like that. Its all a crock.
-
Has anyone called VSC today and asked what date they're processing? I'm at work and can't get on the phone and would really like to know if they've gotten to March yet. I'm at 196 days and I'm getting so weary.
Thanks for any info.
M
I called this morning and still working 6 Feb (BS) I wanted to file a service request. She said the computer would not let her until the are working 30 days past my date 27 Feb so I can't get a request until they are working on 27 March. Another example of our government at work)))
-
Called VSC this morning and same old tired line, "we're working on Feb 6th" I am at 6 1/2 months now and nothing but wait and wait. I asked to file a service request and was told that she would like to but is not able to do that because we are not 30 days past my date 27 Feb. When they are working on 27 Mar then I can file a service request. What a crock of b@*&^!!!!

Hooray for all of the approvals!
We hit a brick wall. Interview appointments at the Nairobi embassy have historically (well, for the past year or two on VJ, including a couple who scheduled theirs Aug. 28) been available as little as a few days out, and generally no more than a week from what I've seen. So, when I finally got into the system yesterday, I was really not expecting the earliest appointment to be...Nov. 7. We managed to reschedule to a Nov. 5 one since then, but we'd picked a tentative wedding date of Nov. 3 (which should have been feasible) to generate evidence to bring to the interview, so that's looking dubious. Yay. Dead-of-winter-style wedding, coming right up.
Hoping we can get an earlier date (and checking obsessively), but...meh.
It's not the end of the world. But when this is supposed to be one relatively predictable, straightforward part of this whole messed-up process, it makes me even more worried about the parts that are anything but predictable or straightforward, you know?
Joy, I am sorry to hear that you have ran into another bump in the road. You have done so much to help all of us in Feb time frame and now you get this heaped on you. Its surely not deserved and I hope you can get an earlier date. Good luck to you and all who have gotten their approvals, we are still waiting on ours they've hit the numbers above and below but not ours. Thank you again for your help Joy, and good luck. Ron

I have done some research on this and have found I can buy short term insurance. It seems there is quite a few companies who provide this option. Also let you fiancee check with her travel buro and maybe she can purchase a travelers short term insurance which may be cheaper. Good luck.

OMG OMG they just approved the two cases before mine as I was checking numbers for today! They better get to mine too or I'll die. I am so wired right now!!!
Hi, we have the same day as you two(2-27-12) and not a word. I can't seem to quit looking at my computer. USCIS site, then V.S.site then my email and round and round we go. I called about 2 weeks ago and was told they are working on the 6th of Feb and to call back after they are working on our date plus 30 days and they would file a info pass or some such thing. Being retired from the Air Force and Homeland Security I am very disappointed in my Government. I don't know what else to do other than wait, as it is just plan stupid to think my congressman or senator would do anything to help me. I know if we ALL wrote to their reps something might be done but ALL must write or nothing will happen. So like the song says "waitin on a woman" good luck to us all. Ron

I have done what you are talking about. If you bring the money into the US and you have paid the tax in Germany you will not have to pay taxes on it in the US. If you bring the cash in as I did, report it on the form on the airplane for customs. They will question you on it, tell them the truth. Then put it in the bank in one lump sum!!!! Very important, I have read many wrong answers on this site as to put the money in the bank in sums under $3000 so it will not be reported.WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you do the bank will report you and that is called MONEY STRUCTERING it is illegal to put your money into a bank in this fashion. The IRS thinks you are trying to hide something and they will take you to court if you put it piece mill into the bank. What you are doing is fine and legal just put it all in the bank at one time. Then use it to pay for a new house or what ever. NO TAXES are due the Americans as you have already paid the Germans. I know this for a fact as I have also brought a large sum of money in from Germany that the taxes had been paid. It was in cash and I was questioned at the Airport by customs. Everything was fine no taxes due the US.

I am the petitioner on the I-29F application for K-1 Visa. Question # 10 ask about how my citizenship was acquired. My father was in the USAF and I was born overseas. Almost 15 years later, my parents finally submitted application for Certificate of Citizenship, but I've never seen the actual certificate and not really sure where it can be found. All I have is a copy of the application that was sent.
I do, however have a valid US Passport and SS#.
My question is, can I or should I submit the I-29F without the certification information? I don't want to risk the process being held up, if I send in the application without it.
Think about how you got your US Passport? What ever was used to get that will be all you need to prove US citizenship. If you were born in a USAF hospital overseas you will have a US Birth cert.
