Sorry but something is not right here??? No US Government bureaucrat is going to leave his tail waggin in the wind like that. You need to do some checking and you will find out that is not the reason for denial.
Good luck

Agree with Aaron 2020, you do not need to pay a company to translate for you. Just someone proficient in both languages. Good luck

Hey Gary, you did a fine job.

At certain times of the year CONDOR (sister of Lufthansa) flies from certain US cities thru Frankfurt then to Minsk. The flight is on Condor to Fra then Lufthansa takes you to Minsk. If you stay in the international side of the Frankfurt Airport you do not need a Visa or Schengen. My flight last year from Fort Lauderdale to Minsk was just under $800 round trip. Also if you live nearer to Kiev same deal with Condor. Check it out and have a good flight.

I am not sure about what I am going to say here, so have them check it out. She may use any US Embassy anywhere. Now the part I am not sure about? Germany and England have an agreement with the US that each others citizens can visit with out a visa. It maybe be that a resident of Germany can also visit with out a Visa. Have them check at the nearest US Embassy or Consulate.
-
Hi, I have done a lot of checking and this is how it is. If she has a US VISA and she lands in a Schengen Zone and is flying on the same airline she will not need a Schengen as long as she does not change airports, claim her bags or changes airlines. She also will be required to stay in the International part of the airport that she arrives in. Example Lufthansa from Moscow to Frankfurt to JFK she will stay in Terminal ONE which is the Airport for Lufthansa and Condor so she will stay in the International part of the airport until she leaves on the next leg of her trip. Remember bags must be checked thru to the US Port of Entry. Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for the info, but still hope to hear from someone from Belarus. We have time to do this and we are sure it will work out in the end.

SMR, thanks for reading. Minsk only handle a few typyes of Visa'a because they only have 5 staff there. If Mother inlaw was 70 yrs or older they would do it in Minsk. But she is younger and must travel to another country and we would like to know which is the easiest?

My mother inlaw wants to visit in Dec-Feb. We have heard that she can use any of 3 embassies Warsaw, Keiv, Moscow? We also heard that Keiv is not the place to go as it gives many denials, Moscow is the farthest away from her home and Warsaw is not good as she only speaks Russian.
Also how long does the proscess take. She is retired and 62 yrs old so she can not go to Minsk. She does have ties to Belarus, a husband, daughter and grand children, flat and dasha.
If you are from Belarus and have info please pass it along.
Thanks, Ron

This sounds to me like a complicated situation, given that anything even slightly non-trivial becomes complicated when dealing with Soviet law mixed with post Soviet law. I'm not qualified to advise, but I definitely recommend they check and recheck. The best starting place would be to contact the Belorussian embassy.
Thank you, will pass along the info.

I'm curious why their passports were taken and why they want them back...
Have they queried a B. consulate or the B. embassy here in the U.S.?
I am not sure why they want their passports back, and do not know why they were taken. The Soviet Union had not yet dissolved and their passports were taken when they departed. I have read that Belarus says that if born in Belarus you will always remain a citizen no matter where you live. If they return to visit they fear they may be held or something. So they think having a Belarus passport is the better way to go?
-
I have a friend who left Belarus with his family 23 years ago. Their passports were taken when they left Belarus and now they would like to visit Belarus, and also get back their Passports. They are now USC's and want to remain as such. They just want to know if anyone has been this route before and is it possible. Thanks for your help.

We called Meest in NJ and got one price and was given a local address in FL that we could take the package to. Well guess what the local cost was almost triple what it would be if we sent it by FED-EX to Meest in NJ. SO yea your local post office may be cheaper. Better yet check with some of the Airlines flying in and out of Ukraine you may find a cheaper and faster way.

Warsaw/Belarus is not Kiev/Ukraine, nor is it Moscow/Russia, it is not even the same for Warsaw/Poland. All consulates are different and consulates that handle multiple countries have different standards for different countries. Warsaw handled Ukrainian visas until 2005 and the procedure and degree of difficulty is much less in Kiev than it was in Warsaw.
The OP should read the consulate reviews for the Kiev, Ukraine consulate for K-1 visas. As you know, the large majority of American men marrying FSU women have met through a "marriage agency" as they are often called (FSU folks being much more direct than Americans, what do you expect?) It is as common as white on rice, yet shows up almost never as a topic in an interview in Kiev.
Not sure why you are so up tight about my explanation of the bad time we had pertaining to a RUB country and the difference between BROKER AND DATING SITE???
-
StephAnn2012 So you're saying that I can leave question #19 blank? If they ask how we met I will say through AnastasiaDate....will they think I'm lying because I'm not understanding the difference between Marriage Broker and what you call a normal dating site. The last thing i need for USCIS to think I'm lying. I've been trying to find info on the web if AnastasiaDate is an IMBRA but can't find anything. I need some clarification please. Thanks
Mike, I just got my lady here in Nov and we had a heck of a time at the Embassy in Warsaw. The consular kept asking over and over which broker we met thru. It was so bad that I was asked or rather told to leave and go into another room. He kept Tanya there for at least 20 min asking in different ways the same question over and over. Which broker and how many men she had met thru the broker. Well to make this shorter we did use a visa firm out of Ca to do our I-129 and they had marked that we used a broker. Which was an incorrect answer. We used russian bride.ru which is a FREE DATING SITE, not a broker.
We did get the visa and was told that marking yes to that question was wrong on our part in not knowing the difference between a broker and a dating site. So if you didn't pay anyone for a marriage only to read or answer letters you used a dating site. CLEAR I hope?

We arrive in Concourse B--in Terminal 1--on a flight from Denver to Frankfurt on Lufthansa. You walk out and head towards Concourse C--still in Terminal 1--for the flight to Almaty also on Lufthansa but you are bused to the airplane. You cross a line that tells you you are exiting the secure area and then walk into the security check point for Concourse C. I have done this trip many times and I alway wonder why we exit a secure area, but then I can understand as I was checked in a different country and the Germans want to make certain I am still secure. But if you stay in Concourse B you do not have to be rescreaned. I only have to show my passport and boarding pass when entering Concourse C's secure area.
But the point is I do not want to leave the secure area, they just make you leave when walking from Concourse B to Concourse C and I find that contrary to German efficiency..
Dave
Yes,this also happens when you arrive in the US from another country, you must be re-screened prior to boarding another aircraft for any where in the US.
-
Actually you cross a yellow line that states you are leaving the secure area and then walk no more than 100 Meters to the security screening to get from Concourse B to Concourse C (Terminal 1 to Terminal 2). Why can't they have a way to get there without exiting the secure area? At least it is not as bad as Heathrow where they have some secuiry areas before check-in so you can miss your check-in going thru security as they let everyone through.
LHR--London Heathrow, they cancel flights when two snow flakes get together--rating 5.6
I believe you are confused Hall 1 or Terminal 1 is for Lufthansa or Condor airlines all other airlines use Hall 2 or Terminal 2. These two terminals are about 1/4 mile apart and you have to leave one terminal by train to go to the next (one or two). As in any airport in the US if you leave a secure area you must be re-screened and if you fly out on a US airline from Frankfurt the US airline will re-screen you again. When you enter the international zone you have been screened and if you stay in it will not be screened again except to fly on a US airline.
-
EDDF or FRA -- Frankfurt International Airport, Frankfurt, Germany
Typical German Efficiency,, but why do ou have to leave a secure area and go thru security again when going from Terminal A to Terminal B?
Reason is leaving Terminal 1 going to Terminal 2 you leave the secure area (you actually leave the airport)and must be re-screened to enter the secure area in terminal 2

Having lived in Western Europe from the early 60's I know a little about the bread table. Yes, what you say is true about the FSU countries and controls on bread and the government pays at least half of the cost. In Western Europe the bread is also the GREATEST and it is public owned and operated at a profit. Most small towns have a bakery and the price is just a little higher than an FSU country. On the other hand the US has eaten the white sliced ####### for so long when a bakery makes a European type bread they make it sweet and charge an arm an leg. If you can find a bakery that makes good savory bread the European way it will cost you. Its new here or rather returning to our roots and they charge us more than they should, but as more people start buying it and leaving the white ####### on the shelf prices will come down(I hope)Every trip to Europe I bring back 3-4 kilo's of good bread and freeze it. Just take it out of the freezer let it thaw out then sprinkle a little water on it and but in a 350 oven for about 10-15 minutes and its like fresh baked.

tonight me and my wife are talking about her interview
she doesn't speak that good of english
but when we made plans
I told her to make 4 passport photos
I forgot
two are required to make the Schengen visa
so luckily
we caught this and she will make two more
before she leaves on Monday
that and get about 100 dollars in Polish money
I guess, i am not named clueless for no reason
I guess I don't understand? when is your wife's interview??? She needs the Schengen to enter Poland for the interview. I also think she will need 50 Euro per day for her stay in Poland. Are you also going to the interview? Write me personally and if I can I will help as we just went thru this 2 weeks ago. Ron

Hey Ron,
We're about to go through the nightmare you just finished. If you have the exact address of the bank I need to pay at, it would be amazing, thanks! Oh, and probably a stupid question, but this bank allowed you to pay for your fiancee's interview. Did they also allow you to pay for her visa there, or did you need to do that at a different bank? Thanks for any advice!
Jason
Hi Jason, the address is Swietokrzyska 31/33 it is the main post office building you enter and go thru the door on the right and on the right is an office. Just show them your printed reciept and they know what to do, you will need the complete name and issue and expiration date of passport. Then they give it back and you must go back out to the lobby and enter the door on the left which is the post office where you pay. They give you back the receipt and you go back to the little office and the man will hand write a number on it. This number will be needed the next day making an appointment (not what the embassy site says) In the morning (one minute afternoon) call and you will be asked for this # and be given an appointment. You will be sent an email conformation that MUST be printed out WITH the bar code, to be shown at interview for entry. I carried my laptop and had the lady at the embassy wait until I recieved it before I let her hang up. Then went to a internet cafe and printed it out. If you are not staying in a hotel (apartments are the way to go) you will need to take an unblocked cell phone with you that uses a sim card. I did not have one so I bought a cheap one for around $30 and the sim card cost (player brand) cost $9. and I got a lot of talk time out of it.
Anymore questions just ask and I'll try to help. Warsaw is a great place for a few days and a lot to see cheap prices on food and clothes we stayed 9 days and had a great time.
Hope this helps, Ron

Ron, i did have question for you, how are you and Tanya bringing her things to America, are you leaving with four suit cases or are you shipping and which carrier, Regular old Belpost, do you know the costs?
I just thought of something, if you check with the airlines you are flying with you can book cargo on the same flight at a lot less than the 4 suit case bit.Check it out. Ron
Foreign Driver's License?
in Moving to the US and Your New Life In America
Posted
OK, I just went thru this and we live in Florida. You have one year as long as he does not work to get a Florida drivers license. 2nd you will not be able to get him one until his paper work has been excepted for a green card. He does not need the green card only prove that he has filed. Same with Florida ID's. If his countries drivers license is also in english he will not have any trouble driving here. Check with local tax office's because each one will give a different story. Also check with your insurance company as they may not except him to drive with out a FL license because he is emigrating, some will some won't.
Hope this helps.
