  1. Hello, So I called NVC to see the status of my case. And they reviewed my case but appartently I put the wrong amount in part 6 section 5 for total income. I was checking it and called NVC and ask for a supervisor, and he said that apparently it looks correct that he was going to send it back to get it checked. I was happy but he then said that I also left blank part 6 section 10, GREAT!!!!!!!!! so my question is should I send the revised AOS or should I wait?

Also is there a way that I can write something to get my aos reviewed faster? or theres nothing I can do?

I struggled with this same issue. A few days after I sent my I-864EZ form I noticed one of my figures $ for annual income was slightly off. I generated a new form and filled it out entirely and signed it. I generated a letter explaining the reason for the re submission and I printed out my AOS bar code cover sheet. I called the NVC and was told I could send it and another Rep told me to wait until I received a checklist. I asked for feedback (NVC Filers - July 2013 thread) and based on that I chose to hold off. I chose not to send it off on the chance that they not catch it or give me a case complete or give me the "bring the revised form with you to the interview" response. If not, I have every thing ready to overnight as soon as I get a checklist.

Although, I've seen a couple of VJers send revised forms or missing documents before being asked with success.

It's really something to consider and decide on based on your circumstances.

  2. That's interesting that they told you to check back in a week. The rep I spoke with just said, "they are in review" and "you'll need to give it some more time." Notice how they didn't give us their standard "wait 20 days" line? Maybe it's a sign that if there are no checklists they will get approved soon.

Fail! I was flying high this morning and I got shot down. unsure.png Lexi at the NVC gave me the "wait 20 days" response this morning. I think I'm going to chillax and just not call.

  3. I haven't chimed in on here in awhile. But I got an update today so I'll share.

I spoke to NVC just now and they said both our AOS and IV packets are under review. Up until late last week all they could tell me was that the packets had been received.

I don't know if that means they just started reviewing everything on Friday or today, but now that they're saying everything is under review could there be a case complete soon?

Same here! I just called the NVC this afternoon and was told by a Rep named Donna that my AOS and IV packets are "in review" and to "check back with us next week". I hope it's for a case complete and not a check list. whistling.gif

  4. Of course i always check it.

"""...Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."""

And thats what it always say...

I am a Jan 14, 2013 filer. my case was sent to the National Benefits center with a MSC #.

some time in March I called and was forwarded to a Tier 2 officer who notified me that my file had been transfered back in Feb of 2013 to a my local Tampa Office.

I received an NOA2 on June 6, 2013 and i never was able to look up my case status until I called and found out I had been approved. I went to the site and tried the number and it FINALLY dancin5hr.gif showed up online.

so I think you might one of the few that never can pull up their case status online until its approved. hope this helps.

  5. Hey, my AOS using the I-864EZ form was received on 7/11/13 by the NVC. I noticed last week that for 2011 Total Income Figure under question #19, I incorrectly used the Total Wasge $ figure on the corresponding 2011 tax transcript. I should have used the Adjusted Gross Income figure as I did with the other years submitted. ARGH!! I re-did the form and typed up a letter explaining this slight error.

I called to reconfirm the mailing address so I can send this revision and the representative told me to wait until my form is reviewed. They may or may not send me a checklist. Or if I get one, there maybe more information or errors I need to address. My first thought was to send it even before getting a Checklist notification. Now I'm hesitating in sending the revised form.

Anyone here make the same mistake? Did you get a checklist? Also, if you did send the revised AOS to the NVC, did you send it to Attn: DR 31 Rochester Ave.... address?

  6. Taal, while you weigh your options, do not make the mistake of being baited. the best reaction is non reaction to the emotional abuse you are being subjected. these snakes push buttons and can generate a cloud of confusion. they have multiple masks and they wear them according to the audience they have. remember everytime you give him that, you are the one that appears unreasonable or unstable.

be kind to yourself & your family (they may not understand now but you are saving them from living with a monster that will also use them and manipulate them). evaluate your existing options. take action. (just like you informed yourself on how to take yourself through the visa journey, find a way to extract that parasite from your lives.) be steadfast and do not waiver.

save yourself and your family. allow yourself a new start in life that doesn't include the venom he spews. you might find that the most healthy thing for you is just to cut him out. you may decide there is no need to pursue the fraud option or to "expose him". that is so draining. and it can make you bitter. people like that eventually reap what they sow.

  7. Thanks! Didn't know about this site. It's always a good thing to have others verify translations especially if you are doing this on your own. Most of us are bilingual but its not every day you use words like Criminal Record Certificate (Certificacion de Antecedentes Penales). good.gif

  8. Just paid the IV Fee and the payment portal allowed me to print the Cover Page. It is okay to print out the Cover Sheet immediately after you pay the IV fee online, right? You don't have to wait until the payment show "PAID" in the system to print it and add it to your packet, right? I am not planning on sending my IV envelope until the system shows "PAID" but I'm second guessing myself about the printing cover sheet part. And I'm taking advantage of the fact that its letting me print since I noticed a few post on this thread that mentioned a problem printing coversheets last week.

I can't imagine the bar coding or other data on the sheet changing in the interim. Just wondering what others have done.

  9. Well you shouldn't be responsibly anymore since he met the work qualifications. I would call either USCIS or NVC to ask if there is anyway for you to find out. Explain your situation because if not you will be stuck with him as a dependent. Your income will look a lot bigger with less people. Hope this helps. smile.png

Thanks. I did exactly that last night. Dialed up the NVC. I explained to the operator that I'm filling out question #16. I said I was 99% sure that this person has met the 40 quarters but was there a way to find out or confirm that this is the case since I don't have his 100% confirmation. She said no, "Just fill it out to the best of my ability. Do not count anyone that you are not sure about.". Grrrr. I think I'm going with my gut and not include this person. I'm just annoyed that I can't get that 100% clarity so I can confidently send in my packet. I will still meet the minimum criteria and won't need a co-sponsor but in this case less people on the count is MORE. teejee.

hello Mrs. parker .... i am a US citizen and my husband is in Pakistan i got married with him by feb 2013 and i filed the petition i 130 at 30 april2013 it was accepted by uscis after a week ...its been 2 months and i didnt get that how long its gonna take the time to be completed..please if anybody knows about the processing time of i 130 then help me ...i ll be greatfull to them ..

heartsprince, it seems like you received your Notice of Action (NOA1) at the begining of May 2013. you should create a timeline as suggested on this forum and join the CR1 May 2013 filers thread. There you will find a lot of great information as you wait for your NOA2. If you might also click on Saylin's NVC Filers - July 2013. The first 2 posts will have a lot of the info you need to answer your What Next questions. It will help you prepare and gather your documents that will be need during this phase of the process. I wish you well!

  10. About more than 5 years ago I was asked by a relative if I could help co sponsor his wife who was petitioning for him. He had been in the US legally as well as working (self employeed) and filing taxes, drivers license, etc. He had well documented work history; his wife's income did not meet the requirements. They have since divorced and he is a permanent resident but not a US Citizen.

I read in the I-864ez form instructions that if he has 40 quarters of valid employment = 10 years, I am no longer held to that document that I signed.

Unfortunately, it would be so easy if he confirmed if he has since met the 40 quarter criteria... but I've tried to call him. I've asked other relatives to ask him about this very subject.

I now am in the process of petitioning for my husband. I need to know if I need to fill in 2 or 3 people under Sponsor's Household Size. I was so responsive and willing to help him when he needed support. I think it's plain rude for him not to call me back.

Is there any way to verify if I am no longer responsible for this person I helped co sponsor ?

  11. This is correct. They only can send documents and they can only ship from a Florida address and it is my understanding that you need to physically walk in to that location. Not an option for many of us. How about those Cuba Envio offices? Depending on where you are in the country you might be able to go to one of those offices that ship food, clothes, medicine, etc. and pay to send your documents on their next shipment to Cuba. Those go out quite frequently. I'm in Tampa and they have a few offices here that I can use.

  12. My husband might need to ship me some documents from Havana to the US. Has anyone used DHL from Havana before. I hear they have an office at Avenida 1ra y 26, Miramar Playa, HAVANA CITY, 10600

Phone: 537-646-4611. Thinking about having Mitch call them and get the details on shipping/cost but thought I'd check here to see if anyone can provide some feedback.

    Thanks!

  13. Checking in to this months thread... Last week the Change of Agent/DS 3032 was sent via email.

Checked the payment portal this morning and got this:

This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately.

dancin5hr.gif Yay! I hope this means my first invoice is being generated. That would be super awesome.
