  1. Hey, that's not too bad. Took about 3 months for our petition to even GET to the NVC.

In other news, I got my checklist email yesterday for the AoS so the new form is in the overnight mail. Hopefully they are less nit-picky with this one!! Still waiting to hear about the DS-230.. Considering the complexity between that and the AoS, I'm not hopeful.

Cheer up! That is what I thought too. But I got the DS-230 accepted without any hassle. It can happen. dancin5hr.gif

  2. Was there anything in that email besides what to correct that needs to be submitted with the alterations? I've called twice and both times they said all that needed to be changed was the Total Income. I was thinking of submitting prior to receiving the email to get a few days ahead.

My error was on the actual form. Something very silly like leaving a section blank. So I printed the entire form, refilled out in its entirety and resubmitted as instructed. I did not need to submit any of the supporting documents.

You don't necessarily need to use the cover sheet in the checklist email. If it's an AOS checklist, you can simply use the AOS cover sheet from the payment portal. And if it's an IV checklist, you can use the IV cover sheet from the payment portal.

Yep! This is very goog to remember. Lets hope I am done with checlists. Sniff.

  3. There is truly something special about the level of rudeness and sheer apathy with so many of the NVC phone personnel. This last guy started the "20 day" speech literally before I could even finish my sentence.

If you don't like your job, quit.

He wouldn't by chance go by the name of "Arthur"? sleepy.gif The poor guy sounds perpetually annoyed. Don't know if its at callers or life in general. I always think "Drats!" since I always manage to get him when I occasionally dial the NVC.

Today is my 14th business day of waiting for my AOS Checklist to be reviewed. From the looks of recent posts I might hear something by the begining of next week.

  4. how do you check your nvc status?

Using your NVC Case number you can go to https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

and find out where you case is at. If you have been shipped to the NVC for processing it will state "At NVC".

In case you haven't read the first 2-3 posts on this thread here you go: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/445228-nvc-filers-august-2013/

This can let you know what to do and expecting at the NVC stage.

  5. Thanks Tila! It's not so bad given the dates noted on those past timelines.

We are sooo close. I messed up on my AOS (EZ form) so I'm now on business day 10 waiting for my checklist to be reviewed. My IV packet (DS-230) was accepted on 8/9/13. So I'm thinking we should have a case complete by end of month. So if all goes well I don't see why we can't get an interview for Oct or Nov. As previously discussed, the big question mark is whether they will let him go on the "other side". I hope there is no snag and no AP. grrrr! I'll keep you posted. Trying to keep my timeline updated so that those that are waiting for NOA2 for IR1/CR1s know what they can expect. Trail blazing since the Jan 2013 Cuba immigration changes.

  6. cool thanks!!!

Opps! I just read your question again. 12 business days was for my husband's email to be accepted. But once it was accepted I was invoice the very next day! So you should have it shortly. I knew it was coming because the payment portal did not allow me to login in and I got an error message. So don't freak out, this may or may not happen. But this is good news.

    Congrats!

  7. I have a questions.. I got my case number today via phone..

what is next? please give some idea thank u so much.

if you are petitionin a relative, you should read the first 2 posts that are found in the NVC Filers thread under the CR1 Progress Reports folder. Saylin has various links that can answer these questions. That is how I learned what to expect. I am almost done with the NVC stage.

I read that you can go here: https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

and sign in using your case number and invoice number. If you dont have those read the thread i mention. it will give you directions on where to obtain this info. Once you have both of these numbers you can attempt to sign on every day until you find that you have been invoice.

Usually they assign you a case number and then they enter your case number and then they invoice. see my timeline to get an idea of the process. but your best bet is to ready up.

    hope this helps.

  8. 2 areas that I find helpful as I wait for a case complete and look toward preparing for an interview is the National Visa Center (Dept of State) thread and the Embassy Reviews that are country specific. Very good stuff.

Also Saylin's first post has links to:

    -General Medical Information
-Country-Specific Medical Information (choose three letter embassy/consulate code from drop-down list)
-Age-Specific Vaccination Requirements (choose age first at top of page)
-Country-Specific Interview Information (choose three letter embassy/consulate code from drop-down list)
    -Sample List of Interview Questions
-Thread of Proof of Relationship Evidence Ideas
-Ideas on How to Organize Your Interview Documents

  9. This morning when I logged into https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx I got the following message:

"Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time. Please contact the National Visa Center if you believe that you have received this message in error."

Could this mean that I'm nearing a case complete? I've heard other say they got a similar message before their case was approved.

I'm still getting "At NVC" on the Check Status page, and the regular payment portal I can still login to.

Leaping Lizards! This may be IT!! biggrin.png I hope it is. You are so close.

  10. Amaryllis29, I'm so sorry to hear this.

To answer your original question, when you are petitioning a spouse and have questions related to the USCIS stage or the NVC stage you post on the IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures threads. It was worth a shot posting here and I encourage to search this site periodically to see if you can obtain information. However, this site can give you ideas and tips through the standard process. Yours is very complex and would definitely require a seasoned legal counsel. As you may already know this is serious, they can say your husband provided a false name. The burden of proof falls on the petitioner/beneficiary in this process.

You might reconsider interviewing immigration lawyers with very specific questions during your consultation. This can give you a good indication if it makes sense to switch counsel to an experienced person who knows what to do and what to ask for. Be direct, "Have you ever represented a client with the following situation.....?"etc.

    all be the best, S

  11. Thank you so much, I actually did the regular i-864 not te ezThe supervisor. that i talk to said it seems correct that he was going to send it to get reviewed but I feel like im wasting time and in case it is incorrect i would like to know whats the answer so I can send it already. i f you can let me know where is that suggestion or conversation I will appreciated because I been looking and cant find nothing.

    Good morning,

I click around so much at times that I can't recall where I saw an exchange that referenced typing up paragraph outlining the multiple sources of incoming in order to have the total tie out. It suggested not to assume the reviewers would figure this out even though its obvious.wacko.png

According to the instructions on the new I-864 what you listed is correct. You included gross total income from your tax return. If you have your 1040 in front of you this would be the figure on line 22 which would reflect wages, tips, additional income, etc.

I've seen user: pushbrk comment on many other I-864 posts. (shrug) maybe?

  12. I've been following the NVC threads since I am somewhat close to finishing the steps needed at the NVC.

I noticed that some filers that got case completes in June for the DR are still waiting for their interview dates. Crazy! Is that typical?

I'm anticipating if all goes well a case complete in Aug. Just wondering if others that have moved on to the interview phase can share how many months it takes to get an interview in Havana. Is this carribean location just as busy?

    Thanks for your input.

  13. Hello, sorry to bother I have a quick question I have a 1099 and w2 form and i got a checklist because apparently I inserted the wrong amount of money i made in 2012, my qestion is that in the transcript says i got for example 15000 for the w2 and 15000 for 1099 i added them tpgether and i got a checklist I dont know why because I got it from the second page where it says total income,so why did i get a checklist or what is the right thing to put? because im not understanding this checklist. I did the regular i-864 in the front page it says w2 15000 (example) and in the second page it says 30000 (example) in total income at the very end pf the transcript it says that I made 15000 with the 1099. is it possible that they didnt check that? and they saw 15000 in the first page and like i put 30000 in total income of the i-864 they tought I put the wrong amount? please help

    Sorry to hear that.

Did you use the I-864EZ form? If so, the instructions say to use Adjusted Gross Income figure which can be found on page two of the tax transcripts.

I have read other suggestions on this forum where if you have 1099s in addtion to your W2, you should include a brief explanation that shows how you arrived at a total figure.

    AOS Package for a CR1

    My stupid Checklist was:
Forgot type in N/A to Part 3. Information on the Sponsor (You.) Section.

Place of Residence (if different from mailing address)

    What I learned:
They mean it when they say do not leave any part of the form blank! I thought since that my mailing address DID NOT differ from my residence and they ask for you to provide IF it is different from mailing address that it would not require me to submit it again. Grrrrrr.

  15. Received a checklist today. At least the nice Rep on Monday was correct in saying that my paperwork was being reviewed. They are asking for the IV and a revised I864EZ. I left the Domicile box blank. I think its under section 3. Here I was worried about the few hundred I was off on the income section which was not caught BUT I did something so lame as not type USA. I'll overnight entire form tomorrow. Looks like I set our application back. Double fail. Check those forms!!

Im so glad I listened to sound advice (thanks saylin) and waited for the checklist.
