My husband will have his interview in Havana this Monday. We were talking last night and it seems that the closer we get to the date the more nervous I get. I won't be there since I just got back from visiting him. He will do great, its ME that is a mess. teejee.

I agree let husband come first & get financially settled
also give you time with him alone
Thank you. This is very sound advice.

I believe he can. Here is more information about the CP-3 parole program:
http://havana.usint.gov/cuban_family_reunification_parole_program2.html
However, keep in mind this per the website:
Additional Information about Family-Based Parole
Currently, extremely high demand and limited appointments slots mean there is a lengthy wait to obtain a CP3 interview appointment. In many cases, it may be faster for the immigrant visa or the CP1 parole recipient to file an I-130 petition for the potential CP3 applicant once the immigrant visa or CP1 parole recipient qualifies to do so.
Please keep in mind that Family-Based Parole requests take a considerable amount of time to be processed. Visa holders do not need to be present during this process, and must enter the United States before the applicant will be issued a visa.
I'm really leaning towards waiting. One never knows how long this program/path will last. Things are always so fluid. Thanks so much for your feedback.

Can husband ask during his CR1 interview if he can petition for his mother (a cuban national) under this program?
I thought I saw a embassy review under the Cuba section that mentioned someone submitting documentations for additional relatives at the time but now I can't find it. Anyone out there know a little more about this scenario? Or is it easier to have my husband arrive here first in order to become established before requesting reunification with his mother?
Thanks.

I am a early April filer, but still 'initial review' in NBC....its taking forever.............
Hmmm...does a receipt no. starting with MSCXXXXXXX means that my case is being processed at NBC?
MSC - stands for Missouri Service Center (MSC, transitioned to NBC). I had my USCIS number assigned to a MSC # since it was initially sent to the NBC. However, my file was later transfered to a local office for processing.

Hey there just checking in! Last week I was in Havana visiting my husband. While there he had his medical exam. He will be picking up the results on 10/3/13 a few days before his interview dated 10/7/13.
-
Update: Thought I'd share our medical exam appointment/process that was done prior to my husband's scheduled interview for 10/7/13.
Printed out the instructions letter that was email to us both containing the official date of the interview. Arrived on Monday morning 9/16/13 at 8:30 a.m. to the hospital (Fajardo). Waited until Reception opened at 9:00 a.m. My husband asked if he could schedule his medical exam since he recently received an interview date of a little less than 3 weeks out. Although dificult that person pulled up their Wed exam date for individuals that are migrating. She said we were very fortunately that there was an opening for 9/18/13 that same week. So they took his information down confirmed that he needed to bring his medical exam check $$ the day of the exam, etc. I was shocked. I have heard so many stories about couples not being able to schedule ahead of their interview and/or worse having to "pay" a little extra to expedite this process. None of that occured. I think we happened to find a spot and someone that was just plain cool. This person also instructed my husband not to have any thing for breakfast so not to skew the full blood work done on all patients. This was news to me since I thought they checked for other type of maladies. So really NOTICE for you all out there doing med exams in Cuba. They actually want you to fast before coming in. Failure to do so will delay your results as they will have you do a re take of your blood exam. Go figure.
The morning of the exam Wed 10/18/13 we arrived at the 8:30 a.m. by 9 a.m. they had issued numbers to all patients. You basically go through 8 or 9 specialties, urology, ophthalmology, xrays, blood work, etc. All was said and done by 12:30 p.m. that day. He was told to come back along with everyone else there that morning on October 3rd.
Hope this helps.

Hello everyone out there that is looking for CR1 or IR1 timeframes between case completes and interview confirmation dates at the SINA in Havana. I received my interview date of Oct 7 @ 7am - 3 days after we received our formal case complete email from the NVC.
Hope this helps! Note the timeline on my profile for further details.

Hey guys!
Called the NVC this morning. We have an interview date for Monday, October 7th at 7:00 a.m. in Havana.
I was just thinking this morning and wondering if scheduling was still going on... and I'd say yes teejee.

NVC representative have told me to wait until payment will be accepted, otherwise they will delay the AOS processing.
Since I was able to send my AOS packet first, I was nervous and waited until the website said Paid. Once it said paid (you can check my timeline below) I printed out the barcoded sheet and mailed out my pakcet. However, when I was getting ready to send my DS-230 (Packet IV) I was a bit more confident and did the following:
WED 07/17/13: Pay IV bill
THU 07/18/13: (AFTER checking with my bank account that the $ had been drafted by the NVC) the IV Package was sent via FedEx: (Actual delivery : Fri 7/19/2013 10:17 am)
FRI 07/19/13: IV bill shows PAID
MON 07/22/13: IV Package RECEIVED by NVC

This happened to me as well. Sent to the National Benefits Center in MO in Jan of 2013. Sent to Tampa Local office in late February. However, you were fortunate I never received a notification. It wasn't until late March that I called the USCIS number and someone finally told me who had my case file. It sat in Tampa from late Feb til my approval the first week of June 2013. I recorded this on my signature block for others to see a detailed process.
Good luck!

I looked into instruction for I-864 Ez on USCIS website and the instruction says:
1. Submit W-2 for the recent tax year
2. letter of employment from Employer
I guess the documents we are sending is more than enough
I filed an I-864EZ.
As part of back my up documentation I included:
Federal Income Tax Info for 2012-2012 (Transcripts)
2012 W-2 Wage & Tax Statement Form
Employment Verification Letter
Employer Payment stubs for Jan 2013 - Jun 2013
Hope this helps.

Hey y'all!
Called NVC for the 1st time this morning, to see if our case was already there. Our NOA2 was August 28th, so thought we'd check that.
Let me tell you this.. after 1h waiting, we got a really crabby unfriendly lady that for sure did not like her job at all.
I mean, I do not want to hear "Yup." or "Whatever, I'm not sure." or "Uhuh." as an answer. Seriously..
Anyway!
They haven't received anything yet. And after hearing her out, she said "Starting from August, the waiting period is 8 weeks for your case to get here. Just call back then."
And she hung up.
Besides her being super rude, which I still can't believe, I am wondering something.
8 weeks seems very long! Anyone else heard about this too?
If this helps...
06/07/13: NOA2
06/20/13: NVC Received File (Took 9 Business Days)
06/26/13: Case Entered/# Assigned (Took 5 Business Days)

Oh no! No scheduling activity so far as I can tell by the list. What happened? It was raining appointments last week!
-
Checking in this morning while I wait for my case complete letter to arrive!
-
LOL no problem working on it now. Congratulations.
thank you for keep us updated.
-
Good morning dwheels, Case Complete on 8/29/13. Could you add me to the list? I'm a bit challenged when it comes to formatting and fear I might mess up your last post. Thank you so much!
-
It takes couple day for NVC to enter it into their system once they received it so I think you can count today as your day 15. I think it will be accepted soon most likely by tomorrow otherwise next week for sure. I am in same boat as you.
Nick4all, I know I mentioned to you just yesterday that I would not stalk the NVC anymore but I broke down and did this morning. Hotdog! Turns out that I got a case complete on 8/29/13. I get to join the Interview thread teehee! Yay!
I really appreciate everyone's help and guidance. In that spirit - I've updated my timeline
-
Good morning! Today is day 17 of waiting my AOS checklist to be reviewed. Received 08/07/13. Looks like the NVC will really be taking their full 20 business days to respond. Which places me into the first week of September with Labor Day n'all. Sounds like I'll be joing the Sep 2013 NVC thread once it is created.

Congrats! When was your interview? Trying to approximate when our visa should be ready for pick-up.
I think member Elio_C is in the process of trying to set up interview. Not quite at that stage.
rsempv, i hope you are able to pick up soon! you are definitely going through a nail biting ordeal with the Havana/post Interview stage.

Thank you VJ members for supporting me the past 2 months. It has been such a rollercoaster of a ride!
October 2013 Interviews
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
Hello! Husband called me at 10 am EDT to let me know they approved us. He will need to return on the 15th to pick up the visa. Phew! I don't think I'm be 100% back to "normal" until he has his visa in hand. He sent me the details of the interview in Havana via email but they are in Spanish so I will translate and post. Although I have to figure out how to do that since I can't seem to find the "embassy" for Cuba. I'll have to figure that out. Anywho, Yay! Happy Dance.
