I don't know the rhyme or reason. It seems everyone in Egypt is getting put in AP too-- not sure about fiance, but for spouses. My husband is educated in the US-- lived there years, has a 5 year B2, speaks English better than me.... and he STILL got AP. He has a 10 year visitor visa to the UK and did his junior high and high school there. There is no shortage of records on him. They had 0 AP for his visitor visa approval 14 months ago.
I can't make any sense of what they're doing.... and why?

Believe me, I've been obsessively checking that website in hopes of seeing an update, but nothing yet. They're quite prompt in getting back to emails and things of the such, but insofar as actually WORKING, they tend to be slow and annoying.
This isn't the first time I've had to go some sort of document through that consulate, and it's ALWAYS been a real pain in the butt.
Every time I see you update the list, I hope its your date. You'll still probably be with your sweety before I get mine here. Still... its time they got this show on the road for you!

Yes, it would be a joint sponsor not household member, if you do not combine incomes or claim a dependency status.
-
I am praying you all are out of AP by now.
-
Yes you are seeing right I even highlighted it. All stand and give our girl Missing you Babe a standing ovation. OMG 8 months since case complete. WOW. We may keep you on this thread forever as a reminder of patience.
Seriously??? OMG... Thats not even right. God bless the both of you (M Y B) and make everything quick and smooth from here on out.
I got approved today on my interview,
wish everyone got their approvals soon.
Yay !! go Egypt!!! They seem to have been in a good mood the last couple days, or we have all just done our homework well. (Thanks VJ!)

I know in just about any American city doesn't carry on to the same late hours I experienced in Cairo. There the city seemed to be waking up about the time I go to bed.

Omigoodness! Triplet girls? What a special blessing. congrats x3

Are there really no AP threads floating around the MENA forum? Regardless, you can hang out here.
I know even after hubby's finished his interview I'll be lurking around this thread. It's a nice change from all the other depressing/stressful threads floating around VJ.
Yeah the AP thread is like this... "Im in AP." *crickets*
Cuz there's nothing to do lol but wait D:

he got approved with AP.
Yes, the elusive AP.wait. I have a full review on the Egyptian consulate page for anyone interested. There's nothing to be done on our end though but wait.
So what do i do now? No NVC thread.. .no interview thread.... Somehow I will need to pass the time.

Thanks thanks! Shokran!

Thanks ladies!
BlueTina-- I will have a review up for you ASAP. I wish you nothing but the best, and I hope you can skip the AP!

Well... we are approved though the happiness is a bit hollow. Waiting is the name of the game! No additional evidences or document requested.
Guess I have to find some posts to troll a bit to pass the time.
-
We are also "approved with A.P."
They seemed to apply this was a standard.

NVM
Apparently was a non issue in the end.

Okay all positive prayers and thoughts to RFQ who probably right now should be lining up at embassy well Sima should be. So can't wait to hear the happy news. woo wopp
Thank you!
Kicking off the April interviews... Prayers welcome. Sima is inside now-- 930AM. I think he came out though to give me a call because they are questioning a lack of an original (the state only gives certified copies I say.) And now he's gone again.
-
Saylin and All,
We submitted a "certified copy" of the marriage certificate from the state of Missouri complete with notary and seal. They do not issue your original in Missouri (or Illinois for that matter). I figured that was a common practice since in neither Illinois nor Missouri have I actually ever held my original marriage, birth, or divorce record.
They mentioned it in the beginning after hubby arrived at the embassy. Hubby called me at 9am. I explained to him, though he was pretty certain he knew the answer anyways. He hasn't interviewed yet. I only got to speak to him super quick and then he was gone again.
Praying its not a problem because I have no answer to it...

Congrats!! If you haven't already, stop by this thread and post your info on the list. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/422032-may-2013-interviews/page__st__105

isA, everything will go well, praying for you guys' approval!
Omg!!!! I am soooo excited for you isa isa isa he will do gr8 and we will get approved with no AP
I will keep you in my prayers and I look forward to you updating us on how it went! My husband should be getting an interview in Cairo sometime next month isa, so you info will be the most helpful of all the other reviews
Again, good luck to him
:star:
J'Ak, for the prayers !! Its a bit surreal now counting down to the big moment...nothing more to do but pray, for you, and for us.
Dh knows we're counting on him
I said I want to know all the details you can remember-- even what the interviewer looks like
-
Thanks Saylin-- You've been a vital help as has everyone that has contributed passed experiences. I've been briefing my husband. He said he is taking a notebook and pen to the interview and will write down what he can remember.
Quick question-- the medical people told him he needs to bring his xrays to the interview/embassy. Is that true?

When I put our stuff together I tried to imagine a job interview and application. You give a manager a novel, she'll throw it to the side because she doesn't have time to read and find the specific info she's looking for. I tried to make mine as simple and inclusive as possible.... Like bullet points
I suppose we'll see how that worked for me
Also-- I know it costed a bit of money and I hope they'll give me the book back, but I did a professional printed scrapbook on http://www.mixbook.com I sent in a photocopy of all the pages in the book and a sticky note asking for the original back, lol. It cost me about 20-25$ but I thought it would be worth it to tell our story in a catchy and easy to follow presentation.

Yep finally got them! Thx

Me too , but am trying to be realistic , i think its difficult to have may interviews in cairo
Don't be so uncertain. I case completed Feb 24 and have an interview April 2nd... That is really fast! The other February case complete also got hers at the beginning of April. Now is a great time to get an Egypt interview apparently

Why would someone be given AP that had a 5 year B2 and records as a student years ago? If its just a name check, they've had plenty of time and opportunity... Idk... doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me why name checks take years in some cases. I just don't believe thats all there is to it.
