We have been married for less than two years but we received a 10 year GC (AOS from B2 through USC). At first, I thought it was a typo but the same expiration date is written twice on the back (on the magnetic strip and at the bottom with the arrow separators). Could this be a mistake? Has anybody experienced the same situation?

Does the IO have the authority to make the call?

Just received the EAD and GC at the same time. The GC is valid for 10 years even though the marriage is less than 2 years old; I wonder if it's a mistake.

I meant 6 monhs from filing but that seems to be the earliest if your case is adjudicated at CSC. Some have been waiting since October. Check this thread, there are a lot of good info for you.

Great news!! My wife's I-765 and I-131 were approved and card production has been ordered! Now, the wait is on for the final interview notice...

Yeah, I had no idea the short time frame between divorce and remarriage was an issue until I came here and started reading. Nothing I can do about it now. At least I can show I filed the divorce LONG before it was final. Before my husband even came to this country, actually.

Well, I already sent our joint lease,joint bank account, health insurance cards, and a credit card account that he's an authorized user on.

The only other things I have are a couple cards addressed to both of us, some pictures, a few more credit cards, my life insurance that he's the beneficiary on, and an affidavit from my friend that he's a pain in the a** but I love him anyway.

He's been on at least one of my credit cards since well before we were married. Most of the other stuff he was added to more recently - I thought I had made him my beneficiary on my life insurance last year. But when I went to file the AOS I realized that I hadn't, so I did it then. I only added him to my lease a few months ago too.

Did you bring any personal emails/chats? I have thousands of those but I wasn't sure if I should include them. Many of them are...inappropriate. Or just plain embarrassing.

Wow, that's an armada right there; why are you stressed? I am convinced you already have more than you need (I included a few emails with the application but you don't need too). I would divide the documents into three:

- Strong proofs (one credit card, lease, life insurance) which should be enough:

- Secondary proofs (to be presented only if IO deems he needs more proofs)

- last resort proofs (emails or any proof less than a month old).

Ultimately I think you're just going to ace it.

He looked at it but didn't comment. I believe the IO had already made up his mind he was going to approve, reason why I didn't present other evidence that could have opened a pandora box (life insurance because of the changes date being close to the interview, etc...).

I have a card from the vet from when our dog died that's addressed to both of us. I'm thinking of bringing that, even though it's depressing.

I included a picture of our cat (by herself) because I didn't want to leave her out of the process and I thought it could be an ice breaker and put the IO in a better mood.

Only about 300 pix from the time we started dating. With me her kids and her. And her mom in some.

May I suggest:

- exchanged cards (birthday, Valentine's day, Christmas)

- wedding cards adressed to both of you

- a few pieces of mail showing same address

- a couple of affidavit of support from friends.

- cellphone itemized bills showing frequent calls to each other

- a couple of email correspondance.

I'm not sure "god" is the one approving your EAD, more likely somebody over at DHS you should be praying to. Just sayin.

To each his system of belief. It's fine if you don't believe in God but there's no need to comment just to suggest "he prays to a DHS employee", you failed to bring anything to this thread; maybe you should raise an altar to DHS.

EAD are taking upward of 70 days, from your filing date, to be processed. The National Benefit Center gets all the AOS packages. If you're adjusting from a K1 your files will be transferred to the California Service Center, if not you will have to wait for the CSC to send the file back to your local office. I would suggest joining one of the progress report group so you can compare with other VJ member in the same situation.

You may want to follow one of the progress report thread in order to compare your case to others who filed around the same time. I assume you filed in June, so i will suggest this one.

Hi Everyone! I just got my EAD and AP approved on the 23rd of July. When should I expect my interview date? I'm filing from Los Angeles.... Not sure how much longer I have to wait. Thank you!

You're adjusting status from a K1 visa so you may or may not get an interview. Your case has probably been transferred to CSC with two possible outcome:

1) CSC process your case and mail you the card without an interview. It could take more than 6 months because they are backlogged.

2) CSC transfer your case to your local office and you get an interview. Fastest scenario at this moment..

You may want to follow this thread as it is specific to people adjusting from K1

Second card production for mom so by Friday it should be in the mail.

It usually take 8-10 days. I would think Saturday at the earliest.

... This is why it is so difficult for citizens from poor countries to get a visitors visa to the USA.

Obviously, you have not read the ton of posts from people entering through the VWP and overstaying their visa. This is not about poor country.I will not revisit the other inaccuracies that have already been addressed.
