rarasantiago got a reaction from Nikol993 in how to track package on DHL
    Go to http://www.dhl.com/en/express/tracking/shippers_reference.html
You have fiddle around with shipper reference : EXP 02 NOV 2012A
    01 11 2012
    12 11 2012
Leave country blank to get a list of all countries. You can pick your specific country too. It's pretty much hit or miss, but try changing the shipper reference from date and the 2012A or 2012B
I tried this criteria above and got quite a few results, but no Ghana. But doesn't mean it wasn't sent, just that you haven't cracked the DHL code
    Good luck!

Nine years ago today I met my husband on St. Patrick's Day. I guess we could say it was our lucky day!
I had time before my friends could meet to go out for St. Patrick's Day so I went online into a yahoo movie chat room. That's where we talked for the first time and saw each other on webcam. I was wearing green lipstick and green clothes. He was wearing a white button up shirt and I remember the day was so bright there while it was night time where I was.
It just started out as casual acquaintances with a mutual interest in films, and then we became friends for a couple of years before it grew into something more. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be married to an Arab Muslim from Egypt that I met over the internet but here we are nine years later and still going.
This is a really special anniversary for us because it was the start of it all. He brought it up to me so we recently looked back at our old photo albums together and said we look so young to ourselves now. My God we were both just 25 years old when we first met! Both so young, healthy, attractive and full of potential. You don't realize what you have until later. Hindsight is 20/20.
Then we talked about what happened each year that passed since we first met and recalled all the things we went through to be together. We realized we're finally coming up on having more years being physically together than when we were apart. Some of those years apart were so dark and difficult, but now life is a lot sweeter the three years after he's been in the States with me and it feels like it's only going to get better from here. I know some of our best years together are yet to come!
Think about that when you feel down about everything. Some of the happiest years of your life together hasn't happened yet, but it will. It's waiting for you both and there is so much more to look forward to.

US Federal law doesn't currently recognize same-sex marriages, so you won't be able to apply for either a K1 of CR1 visa. It could change later this year, here's some detailed information: http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/question-green-card-sponsor-partner-28055.html

hmmmmmmm.....my husband is Muslim(it isn't "Islamic"). I am 21 years older, and we didn't have any problems. Don't make sweeping generalizations if you don't have fact to back it up.

so why haven't you become a US Citizen? it would take less time, only 8 months to a year if you were a USC. 5 years used to be the time, now it's less.

'ticking the box' on the DS-230 is sorta teasing to any Visa Applicant.
The SSN may get processed, it may not get processed - it just depends on the clerk doing the data entry work for the 'intake' on the casefile once yer wife handed it over to any POE staffer. I know, the tick box was ticked, there's a reasonable expectation that 'something will get done' based on that tick box...
    But -
if it's been more than 2 weeks past the Port of Entry Date,
then there's a good chance that the SAVE database system has synched up,
    and
any SSA clerk, at the local SSA office, can find her in the SAVE database.
Ya won't know till you try. Suggest you go in person, bring -
    --yer wife
    --her passport
--filled out application (can get those at the office, too)
    and apply.
Whilst at the SSA office -
Ask any clerk to look her up in the SAVE database, in the VISA name and A#.
If they can't find her by EITHER ONE (name or A#) - go away, do not allow the application to be accepted,
come back in a week - SAVE system doesn't have her, yet. IF any SSA clerk mumbles 'need DHS/USCIS electronic verification' - do not allow the application to be accepted - come back in a week - SAVE system doesn't have her, yet.
Although SAVE database is useful for 'status checking' at the SSA office (by the SSA clerks) -
many of them are not trained on how to use it. If you get blank looks or mumbles, ask for a Supervisor,
and ask the Supervisor to 'look her up' in SAVE. If she is found via A# but the VISA name is stored wrong, in SAVE, you'll need to do something else, with the SAVE unit, to get it changed. It's a hassle, sure, but suggest you do change it to proper spelling of 'VISA NAME' prior to SSN issuance.
    More SAVE INFO - http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextchannel=1721c2ec0c7c8110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD&vgnextoid=1721c2ec0c7c8110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCRD
re: greencard - should arrive within 45 days. If not have it after that, don't sweat this, much, as she has an I-551 stamp in her passport that validates her VISA to be used as a temporary green card, for up to 1 year.
Hey - you have any address issues? Do you still live at the address listed in the DS-230 ? If not, oh boy - you'll need to contact a Tier 2 Human with USCIS - see http://www.dhs.gov/xabout/structure/gc_1221837986181.shtm#5 and ask
--anything sent to that address yet?
    --you receive 'nixed' mail yet?
--please resend all to the new address.
    Don't muck about with a Tier 1 Sub-Human, a CSR - you , instead, want/need/require - a Tier 2 Human , an ISO.
also - checking in with the USCIS status portal can be useful - SOMETIMES it's updated properly and you'll see the 'card production ordered' status show up. Sometimes.

    alas, Dad's got it wrong.
    and that's ok.
Suggest you show 70K of bearer bonds on Monday to the IV Unit.
Need more time? go to the interview anyway, expect a blue slip, then he/she is given 30 to 60 days to show more stuff; expecting 90 to 120 days of further processing.
    Good Luck !

No, actually it is not fraud. Nor does it have to be considered a loan if the OP's parents have it to give that is their choice. Also per the link another member posted about the Embassy in Japan it only states that if any large amounts have been deposited recently it must be explained not that it is not excepted. As far as any one having to pay taxes back neither the OP or parents would owe anything in taxes as a married couple are allowed to gift $26,000 per donee per year without anyone owing anything. Which means they could gift $26,000 to OP and $26,000 to the spouse, for a total of $52,000. So to the OP if this is your only option, all you can do is ask at the interview and see if this will be except able, if not you will have to come up with another plan.
The fact that the Op's parents do not want to put their name and possibly their assets on the line is understandable. God forbid the marriage does not work(not insinuating it won't) they are still on the hook and have a lot to loose if the spouse were to become a charge to the state. Instead they are helping in away they feel more comfortable and that is with funds and there is nothing wrong with that. Best of luck to you.

As Vanessa&Tony state, see a tax attorney asap! All US citizens and Resident Aliens (http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/International-Taxpayers/U.S.-Citizens-and-Resident-Aliens-Abroad) are required to file taxes regardless of where they lives in the world. Aside from the immigration issues you are facing, dealing with IRS can be bigger problem. His company should've referred him a tax person that has experience with US taxes, I have a relative that lived and worked in England and filled taxes from there. There are companies that deal with international tax filing for US citizens. Unfortunately, the IRS won't accept not knowing as an excuse.
    Good luck!

Okay this is what I would do since I believe there is really something seriously wrong at NVC. Like it seems the interview person for IR1/CR1 is gone. Because its across the board. The only IR1/CR1's I have been seeing are those that were already scheduled like 2 months ago.
I would call NVC and DOS request a Supervisor and state what you have observed (not in VJ my friends) but nope you know some K1's that were approved months behind you now are getting interiews. And you noticed NO EMBASSY is scheduleing CR1/IR1 since mid-july. There is an issue I know it I see it.
You all need to call since you are representing such a broad range of embassies. The only 2 embassies I can see an issue obviously are Eygot and Yemin. Other than that NO! Hell NO!. My 2 cents
