  1. DOS has a website in which you can track your visa applications status: DOS Visa Status

When you go to this website click on the status check of "Immigrants" for K1-Visas, then you can enter your embassy case number to see its status. Back in July, I was able to track that they have received our case from NVC and created a VISA application in their system for us. Few days later, it showed that they have scheduled our appointment. Sad thing is that the website is down since August! It says now that it is scheduled to reopen in mid October :(

  2. No it is not true. You should ask for a copy only in case they lose it (which happens often). If they didn't give you a copy and you have the medical done within 1 year then you don't have to repeat it. However if they lose your results, they might ask you to go to the doctor with your vaccination record and he will have to fill in a I 693 form and you would have to send it to the USCIS. That's why it's good to have a copy but not required so do not stress :)

BTW DS-3025 is just a vaccine supplement and not the whole medical. Does it mean the doctor didn't want to give her that supplement or the copy of the whole medical? I got both but as far as I know, they should at least give you DS3025 unless Canadian doctors work in a totally different way...

And copy is just a copy, do not worry about the original signature on this occasion :)

    Thanks for your response ;)

After a bit online research, I noticed that the copy is not necessary and it is recommended in case they lose it! Anyhow, she will ask the embassy to give her a copy or else we should hope that they don't randomly lose our medical result :D

  3. At my medical in the UK they gave me a copy - photocopy - they said as I'd need it for AOS. So a copy should be fine. At the interview they gave me the CD that has the xray on it, so you may be able to ask for a copy of the form also.

Lucky you, the physician that my fiance went to, refused to give her a copy. So our only chance is to get a copy from the embassy or else we should do the medical check again in the US for filing her AOS :(

  4. Sara is right. The sealed package that you give to the POE officer will be sent to the USCIS. djricky is also right! It contains ALL the documents submitted before and all the forms issued by the embassy. Apparently, from what I have read on VJ, somewhere between POE and USCIS some of the medical results (Form DS-3025) may "get lost"!!! Several people have been given RFE after filing their AOS for not having medical results on file! Therefore, the advice from VJ and all those people is to try and get a photocopy of the form from the physician and submit it with your AOS package. I told my fiancee to ask the embassy to give her a copy of that form after they open it, hope they accept to do it ;)

  5. I have posted this also in our own Feb forum, but since you guys are a little ahead of us, I wanted to ask your opinion ;)

My fiancee went to her medical appointment today and will pick the result up on Saturday. When she asked the doctor about a copy of her medical result (form DS-3025), no matter how hard she insisted, they refused to give her a copy and said that they will only give one copy for the embassy which would be in the sealed envelope. Maybe I am a little confused, but I have read that in order to avoid going to the medical check again in the US for AOS, we need a copy of that form. If this is true, our only chance is to ask the embassy to give her a copy of the DS-3025 form when they open the envelope, however don't know whether USCIS will accept that copy or it should have an original signature! Do you guys have any opinion or experience in this regard?

  6. Coming back to this page after a long time and seeing that almost everyone is done with their interviews and talking about POE and wedding is really nice :D

    I have a question:

My fiancé and I are just overjoyed!!!

Oh, and I forgot to mention - my new nephew is here! Born yesterday at 9:10am - his name is Matthew Alexander :)

This is wonderful KT  I'm sure he is gonna have a super cool auntie :D

  8. Congratulation KT, SLMcT and TheWickerMan

hahaha, I can't be anymore happier than this on a Sunday afternoon :D I guess this could be THE BEST Sunday afternoon for you 3...they played a really tricky game by sending the emails today instead of Friday :D

personally, I LOVE to see TheWickerMan's fiance's reaction when hearing the news :D it would be AWESOMEEEE :D film it film it film it :D :D :D

  9. There is absolutely nothing to worry about Joy!

We were also told that our case is under AP in NVC stage, but they sent the case the day after that to the embassy :D

Because of being under AP at NVC, I searched the entire VJ and asked several members about it and I was almost going to kill myself! But the result was that AP at NVC is COMPLETELY different from the AP that you may get at the embassy level. Apparently, the AP at NVC is just some additional work. You know, like they have to move your case to the room down the hall instead of the next room :D I think everyone would agree with me that this is SO MUCH additional work  anyhow, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to worry about this. I bet they will send your case out early next week

  10. Congrats Joy

I was away yesterday, and just loaded the page and saw that everyone is saying congratulations to you :D I think we are all really happy to see you getting your NOA2, after all you made it possible for all of us Feb filers to know each other and support each other ;) you're like a mother to all of us :D

I don't want to name, because I'm sure that I will forget some ( :bonk: ), but I do really hope that rest of you my friends waiting for your approval, hear the big news any time soon (L)

  11. This is weird!!! This letter is from NVC. It means that your petition has been approved and sent to the NVC (next stage). I can also say that it has even been sent to the consulate, since I received this letter after NVC told me on phone that they have sent it out. All of this process takes quite a time, so it seems that you have been approved about a month ago!!!

NOA2 sure looks like the NOA1 and you absolutely need it for your interview! Give USCIS a call and ask them about your case. You can also give NVC a call and give the case number from their letter and get the current status of your case ;)

    Anyhow, CONGRATULATIONS
