  1. Finally after 14 months of waiting my fiance was finally approved. He will pick up his visa on the 15th and will be here on the 18th. Thank you to everyone that helped me, answered my questions and calmed me down during this process. This is an amazing site with even more amazing people.

oh, wow!!! read your story in your profile :( so happy for you, you truly deserved it

  2. I got my NOA1 (receipt#) via text around mid night at that time. Now I am in my 5th month and can not take my eyes off the cellphone,Is it possible to get the update text any time of the day or it just happens during the working hours?

    Salam,

they really don't have ANY system for ANYTHING! you should've known this by now :D

P.S: We are only few days ahead of you in this game. Seeing your timeline and the fact that you have also selected Abu Dhabi like us, please feel free if you have any other questions regarding the next steps or anything else ;) I would be more than happy to help you guys ;)

  3. Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is doing fine and not too worn out of waiting :)

I was wondering about the processing times once the NOA2 has been received. Approximately how long does it

take them to sent the papers to NVC? How long does ittake for the NVC to fwd it to the US embassy in my counrty?

And how long till my embassy contacts me?

I know nobody knows these time perioda for sure, but at least approximately. Thank you very much ahead.

As BryanAndIsabel said, it significantly varies by country and various other factors! Specially now that CSC is taking forever to send approved petitions to NVC. With these recent activities, for our case (fiancee is Iranian citizen, Abu Dhabi embassy selected) it would take probably a month (and half) to pass the NVC stage and reach the embassy and it would take an additional 2-3 months to have an interview. I have found these information from the Iran section members who have similar timelines to us. Just to give you an idea, a friend of us from Iran, who got their NOA2 on March from VSC, had their application received by Abu Dhabi embassy in 27 days (17 to reach NVC, "1" to leave NVC, 9 to reach embassy) and had their interview scheduled for 2 months later. But again, you can find more accurate information from Armenian members.

GOOOO VSC!!!! :wow: it's been I while since I've seen a list that long!

WOW, I think VSC is back from their summer vacation  let's hope that both centers keep up with the pace

  4. The agent I just talked to said CSC is currently processing apps from Jan 16. Obviously not true. *sigh*

Of course this is not true! I called them on last Monday (~10 days ago) and told that they are working on Jan 16! Being approved on last Thursday and seeing the activity from Igor's list, I don't think that the agent gave you correct information.

  5. I know I should wait on my NOA2 but i wanted to prepare for paper work that i will be asked for so I have a question....

On the I-134 on #3 it says "this affidavit is executed on behalf of the following person:", do i write my name(usc) or his name(non-imigrant)??? help will be appretiated...thanks

If you read #4, I think the answer would become clear ;) you should put the beneficiary's name (the non-imigrant that you are trying to assure US government that would be financially supported in US).

  6. Hey guys!

I've been reading this forum for a couple of days now...it's been SUCH an encouragement to hear how other people are doing who are going through the same thing.

    Let me introduce myself...

My name is Ashley, I'm 24 years old, and I just moved back from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I taught at an international school for two years where I met my fiance, Pedro, who was also a teacher at the school! When he gets his visa (fingers crossed!), he will be joining me in Baltimore. Just like all of you, the end of this process CAN'T come soon enough!!!

Our NOA1 was received and sent to Vermont on February 16, 2012. I noticed that there are several others who are Feb. 16 ---woot woot!

I love how everyone is full of optimism and hope...let's keep it up and support each other :)

Of course we are all full of optimism and hope and you are absolutely right: we are here to help and support each other ;) welcome to the game  (how cool would it be if this all was a game :D with the jigsaw saying : "I want to play a game" :D ... oh man, I have such a pathetic life... )

  7. I have tried to convince them, we wanted to send them out all on the same day but it did not work out that way. They dont even use facebook or skype, kinda old school folk if you know what i mean.

I know, I know, but any news regarding approvals from VSC can really help all the VSC filers who are still in the waiting hell :( could you at least write their timeline (NOA1, (RFE), NOA2, NVC) here?

  8. Hey Guys!! im feb 16 filer and still no word yet.

I Want to THANK Everyone for the positive vibes you have sent me, my fiancee is finally coming to a understanding that good things are worth waiting for, and that this painful and draining experience now is little compared to our happy future together later!! in short, we are going to get back together!!!   I knew somewhere in my heart to not cancel this k1 visa, THANK GOD i didnt.

I'm so happy for you guys  wish I also had the ability to assure my fiancee the wonderful path we are going to have and how all this painful waiting will be old history by that time :( Everyday, I feel really guilty for putting her in this long distance relationship and all this pain :crying: :crying: :crying: She didn't get happy AT ALL when I told her that our case has been approved the other day :(

  9. Hi. I am currently a UK Citizen with US Permanent Residency. My Husband is a US Citizen. I immigrated here in 2008, got my conditional residency in 2008 and lifted conditions in 2010. In 2011 (December) I became eligible for citizenship but due to fees haven't yet applied for it.

My question is that we are expecting out first baby in September 2012 and I am curious to know, is the baby automatically a US citizen, even though I am still a UK citizen? Will I be able to apply for the baby a US passport? And at what point and what do I need in order to get the baby UK citizenship, is there any benefits to this?

Sorry for all the questions, hope someone is able to help

    Kirsty

    Hi ;)

first of all pre-congrats on your little one

I don't know about the procedure of getting your baby UK citizenship (as it differs by each country)...also you have to make sure that having dual citizenship is allowed by UK laws (as it is legal in US but illegal in some countries). you have to check this with UK embassy.

As for your first question, US law for citizenship by birth is only "being born on US soil"...even babies of foreign couples who are both here on for example F1 and F2 visas, when born in US, are considered US citizens and get US passport and all US citizen privileges, even though the parents are both foreign nationals. Even babies born on US army bases in other countries are considered US citizens.

The procedure for getting a US passport for your baby is exactly the same as all other babies born in US...I asked my mom, although she doesn't remember correctly, but says that you have to take the birth certificate to Passport office (?!!!)...not sure if such place exists at all, lol :D
