  1. Hmm, found something interesting. Don't know if anyone else has noticed this yet. I have the habit of checking the processing times each time I check on my petition status (I was hoping they'd update the status once they got my response to RFE, at least letting me know they're no longer holding the petition in suspension. No change yet).

    I129F -> K1/K2 -> Vermont Service Center:

    USCIS National Goal: 5.0 Month(s)

    USCIS National Average: 7.2 Month(s)

    Vermont Service Center: 5.0 Month(s)

Effective as of May 31, 2012

Erm....what? Okay, so the National Average is longer, even compensating for the CSC quickness VSC could potentially slow it down to 7.2, but VSC is still on 5 months?

Talk about inconsistent! Checked it for CSC, and that's also listed for 5.0 months. The only one that actually changed the graph layout was TSC, which shows 15.5 months (they stopped processing K1's, right?). Still, the math don't add up: 5 + 5 + 15.5 / 3 = 8.5

No idea why I'm trying to make sense of this anyway.

nice math :D you're absolutely right ;) the reported processing times are just useless...they are just numbers to keep their statistics look good !

  2. 2 to 4 weeks to get to NVC and another 2 to 4 weeks to get a case number....

    true  but sad :crying:

OP you might wanna check this:

according to this post, it seems that their case has been directly sent to the embassy! They have not mentioned anything about the the statement on their notice (to NVC or to embassy), but I guess it is possible to skip the NVC and go directly to the embassy ;) anyhow, as others said give it ~3 weeks and you'll find out ;)

P.S: I don't know why the link is not working for me, but go to page 103 and look for the post by Laura24 ;)

  3. Hey Guys!!

For all the ones that are waiting for NVC to process their petitions. Don't let it get you down what they say when you call them!! My fiance called a couple of days ago and asked if they received the petition, they asked for the case number and everything but I don't think they really checked it...They told him to call back in 20 days, well...last friday I got a letter in the mail from my Embassy that they received our case!!!

So stay positive:D! Good luck everybody

Can I ask you about the first paragraph of your NOA2? (oh oh, I sound like the NVC people  ) is it saying that your case "has been sent to the NVC" or "has been sent to the embassy/consulate"?

  4. Hey Guys!!

  5. hi guys,I had this post in another forum but I've got no responses,I am running out of time ,I had an appointment at Naples Italy embassy ,I was present there at the scheduled appointment time ,but the officer refused to give me the visa due to 2006 retrogression, according to visa bulletin my case will be current again within a few months ,right now I want to change my embassy to Ankara Turkey ,Is it possible to change the embassy as I once had an interview in the first one? ,what are the procedures I must follow for doing it if generally it seems safe and sound ? ,I should mention that there is no American consulate in Iran and choices for Iranian applicants applying for family based immigration are limited to a few embassies ,such as Naples , Ankara,Abudhabi, Frankfort,.. I am afraid I may have problem for getting my Schengen visa for Italy due to current Iran's relation to western countries ,although I had one before ,I don't want to have further risks and that's the reason I want to change it.I just want to know is it done via NVC or the first consulate ,or destination consulate ,what should I do help plz , (by Embassy I just meant consulate )

I have seen your posts several times, but really don't have a clue about it! Remember, VJ is not a magic website that you get an immediate response whenever you have a question! VJ is a place that members can only share their experiences with you. So please don't get mad and take it personal if no one is answering you, it might be that no one has any opinion about it. Moreover, VJ is a Do-It-Yourself website, meaning that there are tons of information and guides and stories on it, but you have to SEARCH for them. Have you ever tried searching for "Changing interview place" or "Changing the consulate" in the forums?! I bet you can find LOTS of info by doing this.

IMO call the Naples consulate and tell them that because of the hassle of getting a visa for Italy for Iranians, you'd like to change your consulate and see what they suggest. You can also call Abu Dhabi, Ankara or any other embassy that you want and ask them about the procedure of changing the place of the interview.

Good luck on your journey

  6. I have heard that they sometimes directly send the petition to the consulate, but don't know if they actually do. Our NOA2 says that they have sent our case to the NVC and when I call them, they ask me whether my case has been forwarded to NVC or the embassy. So I guess there is a difference! But in either case, you should expect one of the following within 3-4 weeks:

    1. Embassy informing you about the receipt of your case and the time of the interview.

    2. NVC informing you that they have sent the petition to Abu Dhabi, in which case the embassy will also notify you about the interview.

You can keep calling both the NVC and embassy in the meantime (like me calling NVC everyday), but really there is no point in doing this, since whoever gets your case will inform you about the rest of the process ;)

  7. NOA2 @ 7/20/2012 6:15PM EST

On July 20, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E).

Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Just coming home from work like every other day. Saw the SMS, just said case updated but didn't say what.

I was trying to open up my laptop on the bus and get a signal. Then I realized I could just use the email app on my phone hahah.

Totally in shock, & beyond happy. I read the email over and over just to make sure. I don't know what to do with myself.

She wakes up in a few hours.... Thank God.

To those JAN peeps still waiting, you are in my prayers. Don't lose hope.

Made this image the other day, never thought I could miss someone so much.

    ts.jpg

congratulations to you :thumbs: so approvals are coming, huh? I am so happy for all of you my Jan friends  every NOA2 from Jan, makes me feel a little bit better and takes this guilt off my shoulders that we have been approved before you :(

P.S: you picture is SO amazing, gotta make something like this :D we all sure have missed our loved ones :crying: but when all comes to an end, the feeling of living with her EVERYDAY of my life, gives me tons of energy (L) (L) (L)

  8. The same reason why some people who filed petitions in April are being approved. There's no rhyme or reason to this...I stopped looking for one and focus on what I can do to move things along.

you're right sir  how idiot am I to look for a reason!!! :bonk: I should've definitely known this for now :bonk: for a moment, I just forgot that we are talking about USCIS :D

  9. It could take a month or more, alas. Our petition was approved on June 15. From there, it sat in the CSC's mailroom until July 12 when it was finally sent to NVC. Apparently, they bundle petitions and ship once a certain number/threshold is reached. But, once it reached the NVC, I had my number on July 17 and it's now at the Embassy as of today.

If it gets to a month, I'd contact the immigration staffer in one of your U.S. Senator's office to get them involved. That worked for me. I contacted them on July 12 and she had an answer for me on July 13 noting that our petition had been sent to the NVC. She just followed up with me today again to check in and let me know the status of our case. Sen. Merkley's got my vote, that's for sure.

I understand your reasoning on why NVC may receive the petitions late, but my point is, they have already received some petitions who were approved AFTER us! So how can they just skip us?!

  10. I wonder if anyone has ANY opinion about what's going on with CSC to NVC stage?!

Our petition has been approved on July 5 and has not yet been received by NVC. I know that CSC is much slower than VSC for sending the approved petitions out to NVC, but on the K1 Visa Timelines in VJ, there are 4 members from CSC with July 6 approval dates and 3 of them have NVC arrival dates of July 18 and one of them July 20 :bonk: the reaction of the lady on the NVC today when heard our approval date is July 5 was :"Oh, wow!" I know, I know, I should wait more, but even they don't know how their system works :D

  11. Yikes, I did not send that either... could be that. Mail is usually fast, after the initial shock of it, crying, and venting to you all, I am ok. At least if it is an easy fix, we should be approved soon after I send it back. I really appreciate you all. I think I would go crazy if I did not have this site for support. Poor Ray is freaking out thinking he did something wrong. I told him it is not him vs me, it is us and that file is OURS. We did it together, we will fix it together. All will be ok. I just really want to get married on 10/20!!!! So I am praying this will be over soon.

that's the spirit...as it has been mentioned a zillion times in this site, you don't need a lawyer if you have a normal case...unfortunately, everyone might get an RFE with or without lawyers :( you are absolutely right that this is YOU vs. UCSIS...don't let this surely simple RFE destroy your faith and the love between you two  I know it's really sad to get an RFE after this looooong wait, but hey! you're almost there  it can be just as simple as forgetting to check NO for criminal records ;) once you respond to the RFE, you're gonna be approved really soon

  12. Matthew and I received our NOA2 at 11:30pm on July 18, 2012. We are so very happy! We know there are still many steps to complete in Our Timeless Journey but this is truly a day for celebration! We were actually on Skype together when the e-mail came through and I tell you what we were both speechless. Good luck to those still waiting your time is soon. Stay strong all of you February filers !

    One Half of Team Masters!

I know that feeling, congrats :thumbs:
