Though, funny story, one day our son Sergey, asked me this same question when we were talking on skype. His girlfreind from Moscow was about to arrive on a student visa to attend school here and he asked me "Do you think Mom has changed since she came?" Alla was in the process of "painting her hair" and was wearing that plastic bag thing on her head, an old robe and an old t-shirt with hair paint stains all over it, big fuzzy pink slippers.

I called her over to the desk...

"Look Sergey, this is how Mom dresses to go to Walmart"

Basic qualities, for example, being family oriented as opposed to career oriented, and materialistic.. keeping traditional values and ideals such as everyone eating at the table together and discussing their day, appreciating and loving their man instead of talking bad about him behind his back or just using him as an easy ride. keeping pride in their dressing ethics like Gary said above, dressing nice out in public not wearing pajamas or sweats in public.. eating a healthy diet and getting proper exercise to look good for their man. In fairness a man should make a sincere effort to look good for his Lady as well.

I remember my father telling me 30 some years ago that a woman will go out of her way to look good to catch a man but after marriage and baby then she does not worry that much any more. many women get overweight after marriage and children and consider a man keeping her to avoid losing his child and getting caught in the child/ spousal support trap that many women use. now I am not specifying any one nation for this but some of the more westernized nations this is a lot more prevalent.

Hello everyone, I thought it would be interesting to ask how has your RUB / former FSU wife changed since coming to live with you if any... I'm interested in after a year or several years have you seen tendencies to maintain cultural / family qualities and traditions and keep the basic qualities that caused you to look in a former FSU country. Now I am not saying anything against any American women... there are many good, quality American women. I'm just interested in any major changes for better or worse that you have noticed.... Also how have you changed for better or worse in your opinion.. I'm not really interested in how women from other countries have fared as that would be portal / country specific. I have been searching for a FSU wife for some time now.. Thanks to private advice from a VJ member who has earned my respect and admiration....... my prospects are really looking good now for my dream to become reality and I'd like to get the humble opinions of those of you who are living the dream...

Very true. Cultural aspects would be very different. They also look very different compared to Eastern Europeans.

I just googled Kazakstan citizen photos and yes they are more Asian looking. so this Lady does not look like a native from there.

Other than that I have no clue. I stayed safely within the RUB fold at all times. It is warm and cozy there. Tall, light skinned women with high heels, dark hair and blue eyes and no hair below the eyebrows make me feel safe.

as far as my response about the scammer that was not this Lady that was another who was from Tashkent and after I reported her to admin. at agency and sent copies of some of her letters they suspended her from the site and told me they had previous problems with her...

turned out she was a scammer looking for money, thankfully I found out b-4 it was too late.

I am just starting to communicate with a Lady from Kazakstan and I'm just curious about the culture, tradition etc. and how they might differ from Ukraine as I have become familiar with the culture in Ukraine. My topic was not intended to bash women in general just a certain percentage of women who by consensus of many men in this country are , not suitable for lifetime partnership... it also asked about how women from fsu acclamatise here with influence of american women. Hello All, I have a question for those members of V.J. who have Russian / Ukrainian wifes who have lived here in U.S. for more than just a couple years. Do the american women rub off on them, like many american women seem to coach each other on how to be deceptive and manipulative with thier men ...Yes I know all you women from the good ol usa may not like this but it is what my real life experience is and has been. so I'm putting this question out there. Even when I worked in the union, the main topic of discussion was about the wifes or girlfriends and thier ongoing problems and drama everyday. Now as with all situations I know there ARE GOOD WOMEN out there.

For the most part do they retain thier morals and life standards from Russian / Ukrainian upbringing. Do they maintain thier traditional standards and values that are so endearing to them and the reason we american men are so attracted to them, versus the Great american women who wear pj's and sweats to the store and to friends, have frequent headaches, and demand to be treated like royalty even when they dont do much to earn that position... ect... As a contractor and working in other peoples houses, I have the opportunity to unintentionally witness and overhear many things done by American women to be deceietful and dishonest with thier men as well as manipulating them to get what they want. also my Question is about housecleaning. many women that I see clean superficially to say the least. I see years worth of dust and dirt behind furniture, and in utility rooms, basements, ect... ( now b-4 you wise guys ask what kind of people I work for based on this, let me say I charge good money and do work in some very nice homes of people who are well to-do.)

I would think it would be better to print the pages with the facebook header and date / time showing. as copying to wordpad only shows what you printed and no actual proof that was real facebook time. as anyone could write a bunch of letters, ect on wordpad and say it was from facebook. they would want real proof.

Hello everyone, I have a question about the affidavit of support and how it works.

It is my understanding that the sponsor agrees to support the immigrant for a certain time period so they do not become a charge of the state. what if things dont work out and it becomes apparent the immigrant was just using the sponsor for a ticket to the U.S. It seems unfair that someone should have to be held financially liable for someone who was just using them for entry to the states then leaves them, knowing the sponsor will have to provide for them. Is'nt there a way for the sponsor to protect themselves from this. I have read about the sponsor sending a letter withdrawing sponsorship. is this possible or just someones exaggerated imagination working. Naturally a person should make every effort to know the person they are sponsoring but there are some good actors out there as well.

Hello everyone I know we have google, bing, prompt translate ,ect... but they do not always do that good a job translating. I have been working with a man who studies languages who lives in Ukraine, who just started helping me with personalised translations of my letters.with his knoweldge of the culture in ukraine and russia he is able to suggest certain changes or additions to your letters. his fee is much cheaper than the going rate, about 20 hrvinia per 2,000 character page. naturally I checked his work on some standard electronic translators and I think he is really good. I am not posting this looking for profit for me just to help anyone who needs it in thier communications.
