  1. Well, As I type the woman in your profile picture is on a popular Russian/Ukrainian dating or marriage site catering to Western men.

So, I thought it all strange. Maybe your not aware of all things or you stole a picture from an active member of a dating site to use elsewhere.

Not here to judge or badger. I just give you the information I see.

Instead of making implications about other people stealing anything it would be more appropriate to get all the facts first !!!!!!!!!

As there are people who are communicating exclusively and one or the other has not removed their profile. as they may be still keeping the door open just in case things do not work out.

  2. Some time ago i was also asking similar questions, guys were telling there will be a need of appraisal (was asking about cars etc, too), i was never developing on what specific papers and in what form it should be presented, cos it was clear that if the Petitioner makes over 125% poverty guide than no additional assets are needed to show. If your year income is 125% over poverty (include all dependants that you currently have and add your Ukrainian beneficiary, for example: you + your 1 child + your Ukrainian beneficiary = 3 dependants) than you are fine, no need to show additional assets.

We are going to show income from my Petitioners employer (year sum he gets paid and monthly payments) and I-134 form at the Consulate soon, so if you want i can let you know if that was fine.

If you still want to see what kind of appraisal papers must be presented, hope someone who went through this in Kiev will show up over here and tell you.

Yes thank you I am interested in hearing about what happens at the consulate.

    Good Luck. !!

  3. Specifically for Kiev embassy.

Hello everyone, I have a question about affidavit of support for fiancé visa and immigration to approve ability to support. It is my understanding that I need to show ability ( 125 % of poverty level ) to support for three years. Which would include assets that can be sold.

    Specifically for Kiev embassy.

From other threads I have seen that Kiev goes by current income, not so much past years income tax returns..

I have enough assets to combine with income. My question is what EXACTLY do they want as PROOF of value. for instance a deed to my property is not going to show its value. Do I have to pay 3-400.00 for an appraisal from an official appraiser and would that be acceptable. how do they value vehicles ? do I send a copy of the title and they use N.A.D.A. or Kelly blue book, or do I need an appraisal on official letterhead from a car dealer. ? Also as a small business owner I have tools and equipment of value, would a statement from my accountant for the current value with the depreciation be ok. basically what have you guys been able to use as assets that are accepted. any advice on anything I have not mentioned would be appreciated also...

  4. Hi Everyone, thanks for the help and advice... Question. ? isn't it required that an immigrant speak a certain amount of English to come here on a fiancé visa ? She says she will wait to come here to learn it as being submersed in it with no one speaking Russian / Ukrainian then she would have to learn it. alien.gif Also I cant see typing all our conversations into a computer for translation if she did end up coming here. .rofl.gifwow.gifshocked.gif

When I asked her about learning English she said she did some several years ago. but never needed it. and now she said it costs about 100.- 125.- a month for lessons and cant afford that. This I have read before as a standard price there.. She said she would wait until she came here to start learning. but that makes communication more difficult. unsure.png

I have tried to learn basic Russian but it is difficult. I have read that Russian is one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn.

I offered to spend time with her on Skype to teach each other but she said about waiting. She has been on a couple sites for 7 or more years so I'm guessing she has been disappointed more than once. And cant see learning English unless things are for real and permanent.

  5. As a person who is now in Kiev and sees what is happening i may recommend use http://espreso.tv/ to check what is going on outside (all the info on the page is in ukrainian, but you go to the right side of the web and click on espreso tv. LIVE and you can see the real situation in the street).

As an Ukrainian, I kindly ask guys not mass RUBs wifes, lifes etc with politics, cos most of you unfortunately are not able to see full situation and read or hear real news in Ukrainian language to be able to analyze the actions of the government and politicians over here.

As an Ukrainian I may only say: I am glad that my nation is not an easy bunch of people who may be controlled as the oligarchs (not to call them with another word) want us to behave and live. I thank God that we have courage and will to say NO to our "leaders" that can not be done (again unfortunately!) in the countries that are around us...

Short conclusion to those who may start telling protests in Ukraine are base on language, nationalizm or other things: IT IS NOT TRUE, people protest because government keeps on thinking it can make fools from people, because on 16 of January goverment adopted laws without ANY LEGAL procedure and discussions, violating CONSTITUTIONAL NORMS that we have.

Small comment too: First constitution document that later was accepted as a base by many countries in the world was made by Pylyp Orlyk http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pylyp_Orlyk !!!

Thank you for all friends who support Ukraine in this difficult time!

I do support Ukraine and would like to see more democracy with a non oligarchy government. I have been researching and learning about Ukraine and Russia and prefer Ukraine for its culture and traditions. Nothing against Russia it is also a great country. It is obvious what is really happening there with the prez's son a dentist as one of the richest men there.

  6. No I have not been there yet... I met her about a month ago on Ukraine date and we are e-mailing off site and have chatted on Skype her English is minimal. so we translate and chat, while we can see each other. and so far she has not stopped writing like all the others after 4-5 letters and me explaining about former marriages and living in farm / cow country.

She is very attractive and seems practical and down to earth.

I just purchased Prompt translation software as it advertised as an add on for Skype. but after purchase I could not get it to work. So I called Russia, the origin. and they said it only works on Skype 5.2 and I have 6.11 and deleted and downloaded 5.2 but it still came in as 6.11. I also tried google translate for Skype and can not get it to work. so we just chat with copy - paste but the purchase version of promt is much better than the free online version. I understand everything but the words she misspells. So she writes to me in Russian I translate and reply with Russian. I live in Potter county Pa. Gods country and hunters heaven. about 5 miles south of new york state.

  7. hello everyone, I did not expect this topic to go this far. It's great to see. I have a question and another off topic

I just read two different books about life / culture in Russia / Ukraine. they both say that fsu women have an undisclosed to the world reputation for tempers at home or maybe letting out frustrations from daily life on their family members. from what I have read here that does not sound correct. or is it ???

Also About travel to Ru / Uk that the merchants / banks / foreign exchange will not accept anything but brand new American notes / bills and also most places either will not accept credit cards or only accept American express. ? is this true. any advice about using money / credit cards over there will be appreciated. Also what about travelers checks. ?

  8. Hi newbie, Welcome to one of the best sites in the world !!! it sounds like you are a lucky man. it also sounds like you are doing a good job of helping her feel at home here.

many people discuss a variety of things but not much is really said about all the hard work involved in helping her feel at home here and adjusting to a new life here after giving up everything for a chance at true love.

I wish you a very successful life together.....
