Yeah like you we sent to Chicago Lockbox, not sure where or what Office does that but we then got a letter to get Biometrics at a defined city (Grand Rapids, MI) in our state. Then got another letter to attend AOS Interview in yet another city (Detroit, MI). Is something wrong? Hit us up on Skype we can talk through this.

IF you miss your flight time DO NOT PANIC. Simply go the that Airline Ticket Counter and they will RE-BOOK you on the next flight out. This has happened to me on several occassions due to many reasons and I was NEVER asked to pay anything extra. Be sure to let you Hubby / Friends in Philly the NEW TIME so they too will not Panic.

You can go to any office on any day with any clerk and get MANY differernt answers.... What we did was show up BEFORE we married and BEFORE Her I-94 expired and got a SS-Card, when the ""name-game-issue"" came up, I basically said ""do any name you have to do so we can walk out of here with a SS-Card that has Her SSN# on it""! After our Marriage we went back with a Marriage Certificate and played the ""name-game" AGAIN, this time they blamed some database not finding Her name / names.... We went back 2 weeks later and different Clerk said this was too easy and looked us in the EYE and said "Here are your Name Options 1-2-3..."" We replied with Her FIRST NAME - MADIEN NAME - MARRIED NAME. Finally DONE! Main point is take what you can get FIRST & FOREMOST!!!!!!! and keep going back until you find the Clerk who can fix your Name-Game! It is the SS-NUMBER that is Ut-Most IMPORTANT in the beginning! There is a Phillipines Document called CENOMAR (Certificate or Non Marriage). I requested Sunshine to show me Her CENOMAR on Skype at the start of meetings. The K-1 Visa Flowchart shows what documents are needed when. It is not until they are in the US Embassy that CENOMAR is asked for. If you wanted investigations and confirmations prior to that, then that responsibility is YOURS!!! So no need to Blame the USCIS for any background checks prior to getting to the US Embassy. Simply WITHDRAWL your application and add a check mark to Lessons in Life learned. There are TOO MANY: Single Women WITHOUT Kids there. I have been US Military since 1982 and did the K-1 Visa last year and know both systems well. Your husband was sent to Japan as a Single man on orders without a wife and he will be returning on those same orders. Yes you will have to stay behind until AP or GC is complete. Being Military does NOT trump USCIS. Your husband can ask to have his Orders ammended to be "Accompanied Tour" if it is allowed for his location. Even if he can get this done ASAP you will still need to wait for your AP or GC to get BACK INTO the USA later.

There was a real case where an American and Filipina married in the USA on a K1 Visa. Then the husband planned the honeymoon to the Bahamas just south of Flordia and they did NOT allow her back into the USA at that time. Her husband had made an honest error and not sure the final outcome or delays and extra expenses caused by this because she had no AP or GC.

WE are almost twins!!! My Wife here Nov 2012, SSN in 2 weeks, married in Dec 2012............. For what it is worth I did TURBO TAX and E-File both Federal and State with no issues on taxes. We went back to SS Office after marriage to chnage her name and it did not (check out in system). After AOS NOA#1 we went back to SS Office and now was able to change her name on SS Card. So the FEDS are happy at the SS Office so we get the smart idea to now get a STATE ID Card...... WRONG..... they say try later "their system not working with BIG BROTHER".... We will try again after we get the EAD & AP in the mail. If still failing at STATE- ID CARD we will try after AOS and Green Card......SSSShhhhhheeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I used my IRS Transcripts that was sent from the IRS (worked for us). On the flip side and I am sure anyone with half a brain knows they can download some tax software and place any numbers in there to make them look like Bill Gates $$$ and hit print... I'm sure they would NOT accept these as legit. Just my 3 cents.

PS: Be strong at the CFO, sometimes they can try to frustrate you and doubt on you (Be Strong and Confident and Polite).

Hello VJ'ers I really need you comment's I receive my visa last november 15 and i find out that my visa will be expired December 13, 2012..is this normal? please i really need you opinion with my worries..God Bless everyone

Last I knew they use your Medical Date then add 6 months, so was your Medical finished 6 months from Expire date? Upon futher investigation of your timeline I see you fly to the US on the 24th NOV, so you should be fine because the K1Visa is then converted to I-94 and the K1V is no longer Valid that day at POE. RELAX now and enjoy your trip.

Fiance is doing our I-134 and he's in the Navy. He just want to ask if what should he put in the annual income field? His Actual income or Taxable income? Since LES pay stubs amount is much higher than w2 tax income.

Where is the USC Petioner in this process??? What is the USC telling you?? I find it really amazing the number of Benifactors that come here for help on their own. I applaude them for doing so, however the USC should be here on VJ DAILY!!!. The USC has to be the LEAD DRIVER imho. All the answers are HERE on VJ, emails, phone numbers, escalations processes, Congressman/woman, Case numbers, tracking numbers, Ect...

You should not and do not have to go through this ALONE. Yes some USC are more PROACTIVE than others.

Sunshine and I are on VJ DAILY for HOURS each and every day since March 2012.

This is nearly a Partime job!!! The Amount of effort put into this is equal to the amount of results you get out of this. If you think you just start the process and the GOVT will finish this on Auto-Pilot then you are sadly misinformed. It has to be (YOU & HIM/HER) vs (2 Governments) and VJ is your seceret weapon!

Now that we have established Herseys is a GREAT chocolate and not cheap in my book either do not look past the keyword MINI's. I like the Mixed Variety Bags, they are individually wrapped so no other fingers been on them while trying to break those large Bars into smaller sizes. Secondy what do kids do when you split something? They look to see which one is bigger! This way, no fingers and all same sizes . Also the MINI-Peanutbutter-&-Chocolates (Reeses) are VERY POPULAR with the Adults Too and ME!!! LOL . I froze 5 Bags of Mini's then wrapped in news-paper, 30 Hours later they were PERFECT condition to eat.

Awesome I wish I was going with ya. Now let us get to some reality. You can not carry more than 3oz containers of liquids upto 1 QT size in Carry On. Yes you can carry more in Checked Bags at those lovely checked bags fees . Replace Colognes and perfumes with Scented Deorderant Sticks Solids. You can buy Hersey Minis Bags and freeze them (mine lasted 30 Hours) wrapped in Newspaper. Also Multi-Vitamins for Men and Women are gifts that keep giving about 250 days (wink). Coffee is adored over there so you can buy Coffee Bags similar to Tea Bags (Very Popular with Tatay, Nanay, Lola & Lolo). Last but not least my ALL TIME FAV is to buy a Deck of regular UNO Cards. If several relatives neary then 1 Deck of UNO Cards for each Household. You will be MR GAWPO regardless how you look LMAO!!! Hey Kevo have fun and be a repectful Kano .

Hey just a heads up as others answered your questions well. One item as you travel to Philippines is you will be required to purchase a return airline ticket or onward airline ticket as the Philippine Government will not allow you entrance with a one way ticket. This is due to people coming there to disapear with no form of income then it becomes messy for the RP Government etc. So a few options is have your return ticket open ended or purchase an onward ticket on Cebu Pacific to Hong Kong so you have no hassles. I have seen people not be able to board in the USA without a return or onward ticket.

Yes this is happening now. Just started a few months ago!!! Spread the word to other FLI-AM's

What is the Proof of Active duty status? How to obtain them? My husband dont understand this but he is in military. Please help. we are abount to send Affidavit of support along with tax return copies and w-2. but we dont have the proof of active military service.

Most people call them weekly or Bi-weekly or monthly (PAY STUBS) in the Military they are called Leave-Earning-Statements (LES). One of the Blocks will say "ACTIVE" meaning Active Duty same as Full Time. Send the LES's

Hi, everyone. I changed my username to something combining our "cutesy" nicknames from Scoobydude to kambingaso, which more closely represents our unity. I've posted once before, and received excellent advice. Now I need you all more than ever:

I received the NOA1 email on 10/4 (YAY!), but upon returning from our engagement party in the Phils (10/13) the hardcopy notice says that the Alien Fiance's Country of Birth= UNKNOWN.

I checked the copy I sent and they were filled in properly.

•Will they send an RFE?

•Is it just a simple thing that will be overlooked?

•Will this cause a problem?

•Is this not a problem?

The notice says to call 1-800-375-5283 to make changes. Should I call them? I'd rather not, because with work and being in Hawaii that would mean calling between 5-7 before work.

I'd appreciate any info from all you VJ'rs before I try to call them.

Same happened to us. I called and the person on the phone created a correction request. Do not get annoyed, because they will REPEAT what you are trying to tell them nearly 12 to 15 times. Agents do this repeating when their boss or supervisors are recording their conversations looking for errors and reasons to fire people SAD . After I did that in about 3 or 4 weeks they sent an updated NOA#1 and this time they also added Alien# too (BONUS). However the Priory date is the same so you do no lose your place in line / que.

When possible AVOID Chicago. I came back from the RP late FEB 2012 and they were RUDE, PUSHY, RAISED VOICES, NO SMILES, FROWNED FACES and being an Army Veteran of 30 years I am no wimp!!! I would NEVER send My Sunshine through that all alone. I will bring Her through Detroit DTW POE instead.
