    Fantastic documentary. Highly recommended. :)

Hello Kristen, mamka tguit? I clicked on the link to watch the documentary, but sadly, here's what i got!

Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within the United States

Hulu is committed to making its content available worldwide. To do so, we must work through a number of legal and business issues, including obtaining international streaming rights. Know that we are working to make this happen and will continue to do so. Given the international background of the Hulu team, we have both a professional and personal interest in bringing Hulu to a global audience.

  2. you did the right thing by making so many visits

my wife made 3 visits to Morocco to be with me for purpose to find our dream place here and land for permanent stay with intention to vmake visits to the US frequently, but failed to establish that, , though, the time duration of her stays are considered visits by the US immigration system, first visit was 45 days, seconnd visit 44 days, thirrd visit 84 days.

  3. Yep, you did everything possible to overcome the red flags just as I had too. But for some reason, I am getting a ton of grief about telling others to make multiple visits espically in morocco so as their case can go a bit smoother come interview time.

Foreverwaiting! I will always remember the help you've offered to me & my wife, you opened our eyes to see how things really go, and i feel bitter whenever i think of the time we wasted thinking the visa is a matter of paperworks and medical exam, i wish we knew the tricks of this process enough time filing, meanwhile, we continue, hope you & your husband are doing good.

  4. Hey sweet cheeks, I was not aware they married on the first visit, and was her only visit. As someone who married my husband on the first visit, having a huge age difference(my being older by 20 years), meeting on the internet and being different religions, my husband and I had HUGE red flags. BUT I visited him 4 times in 9 months, all extended stays, we were able to overcome our red flags. You really should have had at least 2 extended visits before even attempting to file, especially through Casa. I think at this point you going to visit and stay for a while is a must if you are going to have any chance of overcoming your denial.

It impressed me that you visited your husband 4 times in 9 months!! Was those spontaneous visits because you wanted to be with him or just to strengthen your story for purpose to ease the visa process?

  5. I miss being innocent... and just believing in the best of people...

You're really brave to share such details, may this experience makes you stronger, and just to remind you that nobody on earth is protected from experiencing times of heartaches and sorrow, i pray for your health to improve as well as your emotions, it's just a phase, and as long as you share your feelings with positive people you can heal and have your vitality back, you seem to be a person of integrity and values. The last time i had physical intimacy was with my wife in Dec 2010, we've been maintaining long distance marriage/relationship since then. We both will keep you in our prayers, stay strong.

  6. You stated above your income was okay with new job, but 2011 was below and they requested a sponsor.....

This is what always confuses me about the guidelines and previous tax years. I didnt have any of the last three years of taxes to offer as I hadnt worked the 12 years previous as I was a stay home mom before my divorce.

I used assets to qualify for three, but had only started working part time 2 weeks prior to his interview and was approved.

I hope someone here, can possibly shed some light on this, as it leaves me clueless as to why you needed a sponsor due to your 2011 tax year, when I had never worked for years before applying.

Anyways, im so happy for you once agin.smile.gif

Hi Forever! From the little i learned in here, using assets to sponsor works out fine, I myself was denied because of the financial confusion, otherwise, if known earlier, we could've found a joint-sponsor and saved 8 months, with expectations to face other obstacles, age difference topping them, Mabrouk to the OP

  7. Hi everyone. While I am doing a mental countdown for my trip back to Morocco I was thinking about what I miss about Morocco. Of course the obvious one is I miss my fiance A LOT. But I thought it might be fun to see what everyone misses about Morocco.

I miss the warmth of the family

I miss the bread and hot mint tea

I miss the peace and serenity I felt on the farm

I miss everyone eating together as a family

I miss wandering through the markets

There is so much I miss about it but those are the ones that come to mind. I just thought it would be fun to see what others miss about being there.

The times my wife spent with me here, being the first love, gave a special new taste to Morocco, i've never had, so, what i miss about Morocco is having my wife here, we will see what the future holds for us.

  8. SarAyouBliss...... Just curious, did your wife convert before you married her in morocco?

No, my wife did not convert, she is christian and the Adul asked us for the document of her baptism, the point here is the poster said she is Agnostic, I've all the time heard that only Jewish and Christians females can marry muslim males, but muslims females can marry only muslim males. someone can correct what i said.

  9. The only thing I would worry about is not having a job that is well over the poverty guidelines. You might want to check to see if Morocco accepts a co-sponsor for the K-1 visa. That would be the deciding factor for me. If they do not then the only option would be to get married first and file for a spousal visa, CR-1. You could wait until you have a job that is well above the poverty guidelines if you really want to go the K-1 route.

    Good luck,

    Dave

get married in Morocco? i think she has to convert into Islam for that purpose, or use her baptism.

  10. i already sent this one to NVC ( the green bith certificate).

my question is about the long form birth certificate( it is a long white sheet) .i heard that they ask for it in the interviewheadbonk.gif .

anyway thank you for ur reply!

The long form birth certificate is called "Complete Deed birth certificate" at the district office of your area (mo9ata3a) , ask them for " copie integrale dial l'acte de naissance" that is what you need, but have the green one as well attached to the other, both translated, and 7adone mowafa9

  11. And what was her reaction to you not "letting" her drink it? I'd have told you where to stick it, personally.

I haven't told her just yet about the sugar dose in the drink, i will let her know when she's here again hopefully soon, she's usually careful about what she eats/drinks, we just had no time to check labels, in fact, i won't need to not "let her" , i will just tell her, and she will be the one stopping herself continue intaking such sugar dose, i have a question, how did it make me look when i said " i won't let her " ? honestly :)

  12. Hawai, yum.

i have been looking, looking, looking everywhere for Hawai here in the US, and have had no luck finding it. I want to find some so bad for my husband's birthday party next month! :crying:

My wife wishes Hawaii was available in the U.S, she drank Hawaii everyday during her stay here in Morocco, but i will not let her drink it again, just recently i looked at its label: nutrition facts, it contains 35 grams of sugar/100 ml

  13. It's my understanding the answer to your question is no; the physical exam must be done in Morocco by a Moroccan doctor. It's also my understanding that most ppl's medical exams in Morocco consists of paying the doctor to write a note that you're healthy.

You're correct, we thought that the Dr would require us to do certain blood tests, but he just checked our tonsils lol, blood pressure, and heartbeat rate, that's all! We were the ones who chose which Dr to go to. but just awhile prior to that, I had blood tests for a medical matter unrelated to the marriage, and my wife had the same as well before coming to Morocco, both tests showed we're clear from sexually transmitted diseases or other diseases.

If you were vaccinated against Tuberculosis in America, you will be positive when tested in Morocco, you need to address that to the Dr.

    Good luck

  14. Thank you so much for the detailed information. That gives me a very good idea of what we need to expect. I really appreciate it very much.

I'm glad now you have an idea.

Until you get your marriage accomplished and come back to the states, then, please let us know of how the process went for you & costs ! by the way, if u need the translator's information, PM me.

    Good Luck

  15. This waiting is really hard! What time frames does Egyptian AP seem to be having these days?

Interview was Nov. 6, 2012! They said wait 60 days! But at time of interview Consular, although nice and didn't ask for pics or proof and did not even see them simply have my husband a sheet checked marked AP not congrats no your approved just kept his passport and originals and said check website in a few weeks and max 60 days! But the not knowing is HARD!! Anyone else here in this part of process that can shed some light or hope!

At least the CO's in Egypt gives the timeframe for response, here in Morocco, they tell you: " We will call you" , then you will wait. it may be 4 month, it maybe 1 year.

  16. I'm back with still another question. I think I have a good idea now of the documents I have to take with me. And I know it costs $100 to get the papers from the consulate in Casablanca. But could anyone give me an estimate of how much the entire process will cost? I know we need to pay for translations. I know we have to have medical exams but don't know how much these costs. I know we have to pay some money to the court. I realize no one can tell me exactly what this will cost but if anyone could give me an estimate I would appreciate it. For example, will it probably cost more than $500? More than $1000? I'm a little clueless on this. Thanks.

What i gave you covers even the expenses of having your marriage license (English translation) notarized and recognized by the ministry of foreign affairs, which makes it valid for use at the USCIS & NVC levels.

Please ask the translator to print 4 or 5 copies of the English version of your marriage license (the translator signs and seals the sheets otherwise the prints aren't valid for any usage) that way, you can notarize those copies and get them ready to use in the future during the USCIS & NVC stages, we are grateful for our translator who became our friend and who saved us money, time & energy, she recommended us extra copies which later were needed, otherwise, we would have gone to ministry of foreign affairs over and over, not to mention that she's officially associated with the U.S consulate in Casablanca and located right around the corner from it, she did great reduction for us comparing to other translators, we actually do love her very much.

  17. Your fiancé should be able to get these answers there in morocco. No?

I had had our daily expenses noted and luckily i found the file on my old hard-drive that shows what we payed for during the marriage process back in 2010, I've erased other expenses that are not related to the marriage process:

P.S. TRANSPORTATION IS RELATED TO THE MARRIAGE PROCESS SO I MENTIONED IT.

  18. Wow 100$ ? it has gone up since I got married in 2010 sheesh

Yeah, we got married in 2010 as well, the notarization was $50 at the consulate right?

Abbi627,i got married in morocco 2 months ago, the first thing i did was make an appointment with the american consulate in casa, the second,my husband got all the requirements from the tribunal to get marry, so when i got there,i went the next day to the embassy to notarize my passport for a total of 100.00 usa,879.00 DH sep-20-2012,then ,we went the next day to Rabat to make all the papers for the tribunal,to much stamps everywhere lol, after we left all us papers in the municipal tribunal, till they call us to sign the marriage contract on October 5,total 15 days for the process, now, u dont have to notarize any document here, the police report must to has the stamp, your birth certificate, divorce(if apply for u) and the other things u know, the only thing u have to notarize is your passport in the casa embassy,if u have more questions pm me,wishing u a good trip and happy marriage :)

We didn't do it that way in 2010, lots of things have changed since then.

  19. Oh Mounir I am so sorry to hear this news.

Do you have a description of your first interview here on VJ anywhere ? I want to refresh my memory on what went on in that first session. It seems they were waiting for something during that period of AP ?

Your wife needs to be on the phone and on email with the consulate immediately, every single day and several times a day, until she can speak with someone. She needs to be extremely pro-active right now, trying to get them to keep the petition there in Casa.

Second line of action will be if she can't get them to keep the petition there, and we can talk about that next. But she needs to be pushing all buttons right now to try to get them to take another look at your case before sending it back.

Again, very sorry for this set-back, but you can overcome it.

    Hello,

Excuse me, i just want to get your attention that on the sheet given to Mounir, the case checked is "OTHER" not "221(g)" please review the attached photo again. I did a compare between Mounir's sheet and mine which i got at my second interview last September, my sheet has the 221(g) checked, but Mounir has the "other" checked, hopefully the "other" is less heartache than the "221(g)", by the way, we both are from Morocco.

Below is my sheet, thank you for your time:

    2557sw7.jpg

First let me say I am sorry for the denial, secondly what type of organization are they running the 221g is dated over a month ago? Picking up the phone and calling you to come and pick up the 221g took all of a minute of effort if that and it took them over a month? No government organization runs on that standard. I can understand if they are working on the case but the decision was made a month ago and they just now called. Where is the human factor, the consideration for what people are going through waiting for an answer then they turn around and quote an act but don't give specifics. I am sorry that just chaps my axxxxx. I am sure they have their reason for denial and I cannot question there decision making process but they definitely can do a much better job in the notification process. I have worked Human Resources with the government for over 20 years and someone's head would roll for stuff like this or they would be answering questions.

Good luck on your visa journey, keep tracking...

  20. my second interview with no interview lasted in 3 seconds , they gave me a 221g coversheet.

The Co officer said that our papers will go back to USCIS , the weird thing is i don't know the reason .

    hereunder the 221G coversheet

Mounir! The case checked on your sheet is "OTHER" not "221(g)" because i compared my sheet that i got at my second interview with yours, yours also does not show the signature of the CO unlike mine. hopefully that means your case does not need to be through the full processing of NVC and USCIS, I'm sure you're gonna find out the exact reason , and also find out what the checked "OTHER" stands for. Best Luck.

    P.S. Check my sheet below:

  21. Hello arrived home. Hope everyone is well

Had an interesting time through POE in Atlanta. Almost 3 hours.

They liked my husband especially well (sarcasm) it was hard but they did their job.

missed the second leg of our flight and Thank GOD Delta rescheduled us smoothly.

All worth it in the end.

I will write a review soon on the POE and hope it is helpful

BTW Atlanta has a greatly planned airport for smoother travel that just reopened in May 2012.

    Congrats!

Did you have a stop in Europe?

  22. offtopic45vn.gif Hey SARAYOUBLISS,

How are you? Is your wife making arrangements yet for another visit soon? Hope all is well with you both, and your wife is feeling better each day and finding her strength to keep moving forward with this process.

    Hello Foreverwaiting,

Thanks for asking, my wife & I are ok although she got injured at work last month, a mentally-unstable patient hit my wife in the head, she took 3 weeks off but not totally healed from it, it affected her nervous system, the Dr wants her to take another month off to heal, but she thinks being off work for another month is no good so she now got back to work, i'sad.gif i'm so concerned about her health & sanity, i told her that since her employee pays her for the time off-work then no problem , and also knowing we found a co sponsor who meets the financial criteria,

about her visiting me , i finally convinced her that it is crucial, she can't handle airport so her friend will be with her , but until she gets a leave which i don't see it soon,. :sad.gif
